We all want our content to turn into a massive viral frenzy. And when we write a blog post that we assume will go viral and then we look at the hits in the following days, we pull our hair out… Because it was barely looked at or shared.

And then the amateur entrepreneur writes a post that has a similar message and gets 20,000 views in 4 days, we ask ourselves what, why, how???

And more hair comes out of our scalp as we question our abilities.

Stop already!

Don’t kick yourself. Be happy and congratulate that amateur. Study his/her post and see what was different. Find out why it went viral and your post didn’t.

  • Time or day it was posted.
  • Social channels it was shared on.
  • Did they purchase traffic?
  • Etc…

Or maybe they added something extra that would invoke virility that you neglected.

I have tested it, as have other entrepreneurs and bloggers. We write a post and publish it without images. We share it in our normal places and watch how many people visit and the bounce rate.

After a short time, we take the same post and add 2 or 3 high quality images to it and share it again.

The stats speak for themselves… The hits rise! It gets shared more!

Images draw people as long as they are fantastic and relevant to the post. And as long as you titled it properly and added alt attributes, your post will also generate views from image search.

Who doesn’t like a good story, or a mediocre story for that matter?

And while not all content can be a storytelling adventure, I suggest that you make a habit of telling stories often in your content.

Loosen your tie and pop them out. And your readers will be looking forward to the next story, so they will read all content you generate preparing themselves to hear your next tale.

You turn your readers into the likes of children before bedtime… “Tell me a story Mommy or Daddy.”

The world is full of hidden, and not so hidden dangers.

And look closely, because the protection method usually includes the product or service that blogger, that entrepreneur sells.

Danger awareness posts get shared a lot because people want to help their family and friends stay safe too.

Humans just love the opportunity to “win” or get something for free. When we post any type of free promotion or contest with a valuable prize (or even a stupid prize), the odds of the post going viral are enormous.

Let’s face it, humans have a need to see babies, toddlers and animals being real.

When you can make people

We often think we always have to be the teachers… the guides. But it can be turned upside down to ask the readers to teach and guide us.

In general, people love to be helpful. They long to teach someone something they know. So ask for opinions and question how to do something.

There is always something trending… A great example in these days is blockchain. Cryptocurrency and blockchain posts that are well written and informative are going viral.
