We all want our content to turn into a massive viral frenzy. And when we write a blog post that we assume will go viral and then we look at the hits in the following days, we pull our hair out… Because it was barely looked at or shared.
And then the amateur entrepreneur writes a post that has a similar message and gets 20,000 views in 4 days, we ask ourselves what, why, how???
And more hair comes out of our scalp as we question our abilities.
Stop already!
Don’t kick yourself. Be happy and congratulate that amateur. Study his/her post and see what was different. Find out why it went viral and your post didn’t.
- Time or day it was posted.
- Social channels it was shared on.
- Did they purchase traffic?
- Etc…
Or maybe they added something extra that would invoke virility that you neglected.
Here are 10 areas that invoke viral content you should use.
Invoke Viral Content Area #1: Use Fantastic Images
I have tested it, as have other entrepreneurs and bloggers. We write a post and publish it without images. We share it in our normal places and watch how many people visit and the bounce rate.
After a short time, we take the same post and add 2 or 3 high quality images to it and share it again.
The stats speak for themselves… The hits rise! It gets shared more!
Images draw people as long as they are fantastic and relevant to the post. And as long as you titled it properly and added alt attributes, your post will also generate views from image search.
Invoke Viral Content Area #2: Tell Stories
Who doesn’t like a good story, or a mediocre story for that matter?
And while not all content can be a storytelling adventure, I suggest that you make a habit of telling stories often in your content.
Loosen your tie and pop them out. And your readers will be looking forward to the next story, so they will read all content you generate preparing themselves to hear your next tale.
You turn your readers into the likes of children before bedtime… “Tell me a story Mommy or Daddy.”
Invoke Viral Content Area #3: Bringing Awareness To Dangers
The world is full of hidden, and not so hidden dangers.
- Scams and cons
- Toxic substances
- Robberies
- Travel
- Etc…
Some of the most viral content on the web educates people to dangers and also explains to people how they can protect themselves.
And look closely, because the protection method usually includes the product or service that blogger, that entrepreneur sells.
Danger awareness posts get shared a lot because people want to help their family and friends stay safe too.
Invoke Viral Content Area #4: Contests And Giveaways
Humans just love the opportunity to “win” or get something for free. When we post any type of free promotion or contest with a valuable prize (or even a stupid prize), the odds of the post going viral are enormous.
While we are on this subject, I am giving away a free training course: 7 Days To Unstoppable Motivation. You can get started now by clicking here.
Invoke Viral Content Area #5: Know How – DIY
If you have a skill or talent that you can teach people via your blog or through a video, it will probably go viral if you made it easy to follow.
Showing others how to
- build a website
- change an alternator
- sew patches on a quilt
- recruit others into their home based business
- etc…
Is sure to garner you tons of views and shares.
Invoke Viral Content Area #6: Children And Animals
Let’s face it, humans have a need to see babies, toddlers and animals being real.
Be it telling a story about the child who kicked the shoe salesman, the video of a cat being rescued from a burning building or a picture of a 100 foot anaconda, people love to see children and animals.
Invoke Viral Content Area #7: Emotional
When you can make people
- laugh
- cry
- steam with anger
- feel jealous
- etc…
You will have a viral post.
I suggest you always look for ways to draw emotion from your readers…
Q. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?
A. Get it in his mouth.
Invoke Viral Content Area #8: Put Out A Hook With Irresistible Bait
What I mean here is: the title and headlines are ultra-important!
They are the bait on the hook.
It is doubtful you will catch a fish by putting a hook with no bait in the water. Make your title and headline “juicy” and you will attract virility.
Invoke Viral Content Area #9: Asking Your Readers For Guidance
We often think we always have to be the teachers… the guides. But it can be turned upside down to ask the readers to teach and guide us.
In general, people love to be helpful. They long to teach someone something they know. So ask for opinions and question how to do something.
Posts that use a system of asking reader advice tend to go viral.
Invoke Viral Content Area #10: Trends
There is always something trending… A great example in these days is blockchain. Cryptocurrency and blockchain posts that are well written and informative are going viral.
And I want to add that I am a co-founder of a blockchain system that is bound to change the world.

Conclusion
I would like to tell you that every piece you publish will go viral, but that would be a lie.
I have yet to meet anyone who has all their works go viral, but by following these areas, the odds are much higher.
I hope this helps you as we take your business…
