“What you seek is seeking you.” Rumi
So many people have dreams and desires, but they do nothing to achieve them.
Don’t be that person! You have a desire; you have dreams. They are there for you to take. But you have to follow some basic procedures to do so.
Let me just ask you, what are your dreams? What are your desires?
Write them down on paper, in your mind and on your heart. Now use these tips to achieve them.
Your Desires Tip #1: Commit Yourself
You have to commit your being 100% + to the achievement. Anything less will not do.
Don’t concern yourself with motivation because if you commit yourself, the motivation will fall into place.
“Immerse yourself in the energy of what you desire.” Hiro Boga
Your Desires Tip #2: Set Goals
Success is achieved with a plan. A plan entails reachable goals. So set high goals… write them down!
Now write the objectives to reach those goals.
“A goal is not always meant to be reached, it often serves simply as something to aim at.” Bruce Lee
Your Desires Tip #3: Take Immediate Action
You must start somewhere. Take action and move towards your goal. Do not procrastinate.
Yes, you will make a mistake or 2, but just keep moving forward. Because moving forward will take you upwards.
“A desire presupposes the possibility of action to achieve it; action presupposes a goal that is worth achieving.” Ayn Rand
Your Desires Tip #4: Reward Yourself
As you reach objectives and goals, give yourself rewards.
Decide beforehand what your reward will be…
- A new outfit
- A great dinner
- An opera concert
- Etc…
By having a reward dangling like a carrot in front of you, your goal will become even more important.
“Desire presses ever forward unsubdued.” Sigmund Freud
Your Desires Tip #5: Seek Knowledge
There is always something new to learn…
- Read books
- Attend seminars
- Take classes
- Find a mentor
- Etc…
Take time each day to learn something new that will help you achieve the desires of your heart.
“Human behavior flows from three main sources: desire, emotion, and knowledge.” Plato
Your Desires Tip #6: Take Out The Time Wasters
There are probably things you are doing that are not geared toward your ultimate goal: achieving your desires.
They are time and energy wasters.
Maybe some of those things need to be done, but they could be delegated or outsourced. Free yourself from the time wasters.
- Ask someone else to take out the trash
- Turn off the television
- Do you really need to check your email 7 times today?
- Facebook can wait
- On and on… These are time wasters.
“When you discover your mission, you will feel its demand. It will fill you with enthusiasm and a burning desire to get to work on it.” W. Clement Stone
Your Desires Tip #7: Make It Fun
If it isn’t fun, why do it?
I won’t tell you there won’t be some hurdles you will have to jump or roadblocks you must detour around, but you can even have fun in the midst of them.
Make it fun and it will not seem like work.
“Within all of us is a divine capacity to manifest and attract all that we need and desire.” Wayne Dyer
Your Desires Tip #8: Know Your Weaknesses
If you know where you fall short, you will understand where you need help. There is nothing wrong with asking other people to help you achieve your desires and dreams. Often, by helping you, they are filling their desires and dreams.
So surround yourself with people who are strong where you are weak.
This is how many successful people have attained their desires.
“It’s important to air your concerns and fears with someone you trust. When you’re honest about how you can change and grow, and where your weaknesses are, then you open the door for improvement and change.” Matt Dillon
