Everyone has an energy that goes out approximately 8 feet.

  • People feel you
  • Then watch you
  • …..and then listen to you.

Are you 100% certain on what you are talking about. If not, your uncertainty will make your prospect uncertain also. Stop Dabbling. Start being 100% committed and 100% certain about your actions and people will follow your conviction and action.

I wrote a previous post on mastering the art of persuasion to help give some simple tips on how to create influence after becoming aware of your energy.

Many people assume that persuasion in the area of sales is similar to a “pushy” used car salesman.

Not true!

Since the day you were born, you used persuasion techniques and when you were a cute little baby, those persuasion techniques probably worked. But as you grew older, your persuasion may have “hit a brick wall.”

Hopefully, you got what you needed, but without the power of persuasion, you probably did not get what you wanted as much as you would have liked.

Now, some people have a natural ability to persuade people. It has been used for both good and bad.

I am going to give you 4 tips to master the art of persuasion, but you must promise you will only use it for good.

Master The Art Of Persuasion Tip #1: Create The Dream

There are 2 small but ultra-powerful words that will create a dream in others. Those words are:

What If?

  • What if we could show you a way to retire 5 years from now?
  • What if you had enough money to live wherever you wanted?
  • Or what if you could ensure your children never have to struggle?

It is my opinion that when recruiting, selling or anything in which you want to persuade someone to do something, start by using what if.

Master The Art Of Persuasion Tip #2: Identify And Focus On The Persuadable

I like to use the example of the teenager who wants to use the car to go out with his friends on a Saturday night. Dad is dead set against this, but the teen had heard Mom say 2 days earlier how she would like to spend a romantic night alone with Dad.

So, why try to persuade Dad?

The persuadable is Mom and the teen will approach her. She will then have the power to persuade Dad.

When we need something, we must look for those who will benefit too and are persuadable. Focus on those people.

Master The Art Of Persuasion Tip #3: Listen

The masters of persuasion have also mastered the art of active listening. You see, if you listen intently, people will tell you how to easily persuade them.

There are 3 things you need to focus on when practicing active listening to persuade:

  1. Assess how receptive they are to your point of view;
  2. Listen for specific objections that you will have to overcome;
  3. and you need to listen for agreements so you can capitalize on consensus.

Master The Art Of Persuasion Tip #4: Try It

In the case of persuading a person to purchase something or do something they are hesitant about, the try it before you commit persuasion technique works.

That is why you will see so many free trials of software and other things on the internet.

Entrepreneurs know that when a person tries it, they will “be hooked.”

Conclusion

Persuasion does take practice… Practice with someone you are close to and practice in the mirror.

One other thing; if you use persuasion too much, it can defeat the purpose. It is like the little boy who cried wolf.

So choose your persuading times carefully.

The Fearless Networker: Eric my friend, you and I go way back.  You want to share with the readers how we met?

Eric Tippetts:  Todd and I have many mutual friends in and out of the Network Marketing profession.  I have always followed Todd as he just seemed like a “bro” that I could hang out with.  As you watch people, especially on video, you start to get a clear sense of who they are, what they stand for, and the value they provide to others.  I always enjoyed watching Todd as he was so real and authentic.  As I have become good friends with Todd, spent time with his family, and traveled the world with him…he IS the real deal.  Truly passionate about his personal and professional life and about helping others succeed in living an amazing life.  I respect that a lot.

Eric Tippetts:  One of the greatest times I have had with Todd is traveling to Southeast Asia together.  I was consulting with a Network Marketing company and helped them launch their products into Southeast Asia.  I asked if I could implement a top tier training system within their company.  The CEO shared the same philosophy and agreed to let me hand pick trainers that I thought brought huge value in training IBO’s on the real life, day-to-day skills of prospecting, recruiting, team building, overcoming objections, and leadership.  Todd was a clear first choice for me.

The Fearless Networker:  That was a fun trip!  Eric, some people may not know who you are.  Why don’t you just give us your quick background? 

Eric TippettsEric Tippetts:  I am a serial entrepreneur.  I like long walks on the beach, sunsets, and a glass of wine.  Oops, wrong interview.  Lol!  I have been a serial entrepreneur since I was 19 years old.  My father and I started a company together and I was tasked to oversee sales and marketing for this new venture.  I had no training, completed half a year of college and really only wanted to surf and have fun.  But, what I wanted more than anything was to NOT have a job.  So I thought this would be a way to slide a little while learning how my dad became a successful salesman in his previous venture.

What I quickly realized is that I love people and really love listening and understanding what challenges they’re going through to try and genuinely help them.  This lent itself to scheduling my first meeting from a cold call.  It was with the CEO of Boeing!  That’s a whole other story in itself, but long story short his assistant felt bad for me and booked 15 minutes on his calendar without him knowing who I was.

When I arrived he asked, “Who are you?!”  Without missing a beat I said, “I have a system that I think can revolutionize Boeing Aircraft.”  He started belly laughing and invited me in.  After 15 minutes, I secured a trial with 40 of his top executives.  We STILL have that account, 23 years later!

It was then that I realized I love technology to help simplify and leverage people’s time, efforts, and results.  Because of this, I have created many tools like, EVA (Electronic Virtual Assistant), Voice2insight, The Expense Tracker, and Rocket Recruiting.

The Fearless Networker:  How did you focus on the Network Marketing profession?

Eric Tippetts:  I found that the Network Marketing profession was a perfect fit for me because it offers the ability for anyone, any skill, any color, any demographic, and any financial situation to become an entrepreneur without all the risk, overhead, and stress like a tradition business.  I love the model of Network Marketing, you have to help others succeed or you will never prosper.  With a background of working in traditional companies and their sales teams, it was clear how cut-throat and back-stabbing people could be to get ahead.  Until Network Marketing, I had never experienced an industry that revolves around personal development with a comp plan attached.  That’s powerful!

The Fearless Networker:  Where do you feel your value is to this profession?

Eric Tippetts:  Tools and content.  I believe tools increase your success factor massively!  Here’s an example: 

Talent x Effort x # of Tools = Your Success Factor

Let’s say you’re a leader that has huge talent, but is working only part time, here’s the formula:  10 in talent x 5 on effort x 1 tool = (10 x 5 = 50 x 1 = 50) 50 Success Factor

So now let’s say you’re new in the business, here’s the formula:  5 talent x 10 effort x 10 tools = (5 x 10 = 50 x 10 = 500)  500 success factor

This is why I believe so passionately in tools.  They leverage your talent, time, effort and results.  The key is making sure the tools have a purpose and are not time and energy drainers.  They need to have a role in enhancing your daily activities and results.  This is critical.  So many people are preoccupied by playing the “busy game” that they are not being productive at all.  They just spin their wheels, being busy and wonder why they never sponsor anyone, move up in rank, grow their check, etc.

For instance, I built Rocket Recruiting with a very simple and specific result; to recruit anyone, anywhere, anytime without rejection.  I am a firm believer in the laws of reciprocity and have built several multiple million dollar businesses on this premise.

Give before you ask.  Give value upfront to EARN a prospect’s business, don’t just ask for the sale.  This mindset is so simple, but I am amazed at how many people struggle with recruiting because they are constantly asking everyone around them to join their business, to buy something from them…basically to DO something for them.  Everybody wants to buy, but no one wants to be sold.

The Fearless Networker:  Are their any actions that you practice and have found to be exceptionally productive in business?

Eric Tippetts:  There are three specific components I believe in are the keys to success in anything you do and they are the following:

1.  Knowledge.  You need to educate yourself everyday on your profession and prospect.  Stay up to date with your profession and understand your prospect so you can truly help.  

2. Tools.  Like I said before, leveraging tools will increase your success factor in business.  That is why I built Rocket Recruiting, to simplify recruiting by leading with a giving hand of powerful and valuable information for prospects.  I built The Expense Tracker to simplify managing a home-based business owner’s finances and to help maximize them with tax strategies.

3. Motivation.  If you are not passionate and motivated to take action you will always be stuck in the same place.  It all starts in the morning.  Mornings are absolutely THE most critical time of the day.  Your mornings set the tone and pace of your day.  If you start off late and frantic…your day will continue to be so.  If you start off fresh by reading motivating material and creating a task list, your day will be filled with productivity.  To assist with that, I created a daily video program called “The 7 Days to Unstoppable Motivation” where you’re emailed a motivational video each morning to get you super, crazy inspired!

Eric TippettsThe Fearless Networker:  If you could share anything that would massively impact the people reading this, what would you say?

Eric Tippetts:  The #1 biggest comment I can share with you would be this, you have to be 100% protective of the people with whom you surround yourself.  If you have negative people around you, it’s almost 100% certain you will become negative and fall into their misery.

Protect yourself from these energy drainers.  Make a commitment to yourself that you will join a group, business, and/or community that empowers each other, forces growth and inspires you.  Surround yourself with individuals who you want to become more like.  Hands down, this will change every reader’s life.

The Fearless Networker:  What was your biggest struggle or roadblock on your way to achieving success in business, and how did you overcome it?

Eric TippettsEric Tippetts:  In the beginning, it was my age.  I was 19 years old when I started my career as an entrepreneur.  I had no previous success, no credentials, no stories, nothing.  I was a young kid that had big dreams but worried about being rejected.  To overcome this I decided not be be a “know it all”.  I just asked questions and listened.  You will be amazed at how many people don’t get the opportunity to talk and don’t feel heard at work and/or at home.  Take the time to be interested in your prospect and what they are saying.  Silence your mind and just focus on them and their words.  Don’t jump in to be quick with a solution.  This was a mistake I made A LOT in the beginning.  I wanted to guide the conversation to get the outcome I wanted, not necessarily  what my prospect wanted, and it never worked out.

After gaining success, building my stories, creating a history, and developing a track record the biggest struggle became my mind.  I felt that I was succeeding at such a rapid pace that it would not continue.  And I was concerned that I was not good enough to hold up to the high expectations of those around me.

When I started experiencing success, I even felt some friends getting uncomfortable with the growth that they were not also experiencing.  They tried to bring me down so they would feel comfortable again.  It was a hard time from which to to learn and grow.  I recently shot a heartfelt video about that experience titled “The Dark Side of Success” to share these experiences to help others transition through this phase in their business career as an entrepreneur.

A habit I incorporated daily that made a significant impact on my “me” struggle was reading at least 10 pages of a self development book a day.  I started to invest in myself mentally and learn skills in all facets of business.  That’s when I started believing in me, loving myself and being comfortable in my own skin.  “Leaders are Readers” is a true statement because knowledge fills in all the gaps that tear away at your trust in yourself.

The Fearless Networker:  I totally, 100% agree.  So what is your favorite business book of all time?Eric Tippetts

Eric Tippetts:  The 4 Hour Work Week by Tim Ferriss.  He changed my mind of what is acceptable because I always thought you have to work eight hours a day or you’re being lazy.  I realized that is false.  It doesn’t matter how long you work if you automate and have systems and tools that leverage your time, energy, and results.  Life is meant to be enjoyed.

The Fearless Networker:  When we were in SE Asia together you were finishing up your book To The Top.  What was your motivation for writing a book?

Eric Tippetts:  Yes, I remember telling you about the book.  At the end of my presentations I would point up at the and say, “To The Top”.  The audiences would go nuts so I knew this would be the title of my book.

To The TopTo The Top was a culmination of three and a half years of writing on airplanes, traveling the world, meeting thousands of entrepreneurs and hearing people’s stories, both good and bad.  I had also gone through so many ups and downs in my life financially.  I wanted to analyze what I was doing when I was succeeding as an a content, confident, and wealthy entrepreneur versus being broke, miserable, struggling and angry.  I wanted to give other entrepreneurs a roadmap of simple, everyday steps that lead to financial success.  So many people live life drifting and eventually end up wondering where life went.  I wanted to make a contribution to society and help people dream again, but lay a foundation under their dreams.  Everyone has their “top”.  So this book not about my “top” but a roadmap for the quest of getting to each individual’s “top”.

The Fearless Networker:  If you could share anything that would massively impact the people reading this, what would you say?

The Fearless Networker:  What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received that’s served you well in business?

Eric Tippetts:  My father said two things that have changed my life and become a foundation of how I live each day.

1.  Dream Big.  Dream so big that it makes everyone around you uncomfortable, but lay a foundation under your dreams.  I was really un-focused growing up.  Once I focused on taking daily action towards my dreams, even when it was uncomfortable, hard, long, etc., that is when life really changed for me.  We can do anything, it just takes action, patience and time.

2.  Why Not?  Those two words changed my life massively!  Those two words are so powerful; they cut through the lies and stories we tell ourselves that allows us to not take action, not take a risk or not get out of our comfort zone.  When you are going to take a risk and you start to have the mental chatter of why you should NOT do it, stop and ask yourself “why not”?  Try it next time you question yourself.  Fear is only in our mind.  Asking yourself, “why not” pushes you through the fear.To The Top

Do You Want To Explode Your Business? Become the Pacesetter

Hey, everyone! This is Eric Tippetts. It is a beautiful day, and I am feeling inspired to shoot this quick video called ‘how to Turbo boost the growth of your business’. And it could be in your network, marketing business, your small business, home business, whatever business it might be. The number one tip or strategy that I always talk about is to become a pacesetter. Meaning you need to show people what the pace of growth you want your business to be.

This is one of the biggest things I notice all the time, especially in network marketing, is that you’ll watch people get into a home business, and then they’ll try to go and recruit people that they think are perfect salespeople and their outgoing. And hey, if I just get them, I can sit back, and watch TV and just make money on everything that they’re doing, and I don’t have to do anything.

Well, first of all, most people that are go-getters and are a-type drivers are not going to sit and build the business for you. They want to be inspired. They want to join people that are going at the same pace as they are. So if you want to hyper-growth your business, you need to show people how to hyper-growth your business and their business because what you’ll find is that as you speed up and as you set the pace for things going extremely quick and you got meetings going on, you’ve got opportunities going on.

What you’ll find is that everybody wants to keep up with you. They want to not let you down. They want to be a part of that growth of what you’re doing, a part of the momentum, the growth, the excitement of what’s happening. But if you’re on vacation all the time, you’re sitting at home all the time, and you every once in a while kind of work your business a little bit, what you’ll find is that they mimic you.

I call it attention management, meaning everybody who’s got all of these things that they’re looking at, and unless you actually show them where to focus, where to put their attention, there are too many things that they’re focused on. And it won’t be you; it won’t be your organization; it won’t be building your business, their business, the organization. A second thing, as you’re setting the pace and as people start really starting to rock and really starting to become a part of that momentum, reward them. That’s a major thing that I notice most people do not do is the reward.

Now, it doesn’t have to be some big. No, it can be as simple as recognizing them on Facebook, recognizing them on social media that, hey, this person is doing a great job. Hey, this person just recruited one person. Great job, Bob! Great job, Susie! I mean, they’re really rocking and rolling, and what you’ll find is that gets momentum building, the excitement builds up, they want to actually go out there and approach people because again, at the end of the day, typically in a lot of times in network marketing, a lot of people are on their own.

And so they’re trying to figure out like, well, how do I go and approach people? They’re scared to pick up the phone, but if they find that they do something and it’s rewarded, or it’s recognized, they want to do more of it. And the third thing is you want to make sure that you set a standard of what your brand or what your organization or what your company is about. I always talk about positively outrageous service or POS.

You want people to equate working with you, being associated with you as being associated with positively outrageous service or positively outrageous team that you know what you go far up and beyond. What the norm does, and they’re super excited to be a part of your organization or be associated with your company.

So one of the biggest things as you watch this video is I always tell people to be truthful with yourself. Do you really feel like you’re setting a pace that you want for your organization? Are you doing the things that you’re asking your team to do?

Be truthful with yourself as far as if you feel like you’re putting in the time and you’re really setting the pace that you’re hoping that your organization or your company growth is following.

Success – The Power Of Gratitude

If you genuinely desire to bring into your life whatever that you prefer, then begin with valuing all that you have now. If you focus on all the absence in your life, you get more absence.

Like attracts Like….

Our action is that your desires are the life-blood running through your veins. Can you think of living each day with the idea that you have currently satisfied every desire? Desires are not the absence of something; they are the guarantee of what is yet to come.

Understanding that there is no lack– just desires yet to be satisfied, you can unwind, value, and take pleasure in all that is currently in your life. If you desire to be better, and meet your desires even quicker, attempt this workout: take a couple of minutes a number of times a every day to see and value some of the things in your life that you would miss out on if they were no longer in your experience.
Do not error that we’re stating choose what you have. To the contrary, we’re stating enjoy what you have, while completely expecting the satisfaction of all you want. The point is to totally value whatever you have, which will cause experiencing whatever you desire.

One thing I talk about alot is a “gratitude vase” that my wife and daughter still to this day fill out a sticky note and write 3 things we are grateful for that day.  This helps to keep us present to how precious and fulfilled our lives are.  We then read them together January 1 of each year to remind ourselves of the things we were grateful for last year.

Life is a journey of processes.  Remember, make one of your daily processes to do something that makes you smile, happy, and fulfilled.

3 Simple Tips to experience more Joy & Happiness

What is the something you desire more than anything else for individuals you like the most? If you had a magic wand what would you give your friends and family? What is it that everybody desires?

Happiness & Joy would be the common answer.

Happiness = A balance between pleasure and purpose.

How can you make other individuals delighted till you enjoy more happiness?

How can you enjoy life more?

Lester Levenson, developer of The Sedona Technique, found the essential to joy and happiness. He looked for 47 years and almost passed away at the same time however he did discover it. Do you would like to know what it is?

Lester had an advancement after much soul browsing and discovered how to be pleased just after examining his whole life. He found a typical pattern, one that existed in every present minute.

Whenever he was feeling love towards another individual he rejoiced. And whenever he felt any other sensation he was not pleased.
Remember back of a time when you were blissfully pleased. Did you feel caring at that time? This works for me every time.
If this sounds too easy to work I understand that you have actually not checked it on your own. Switching on a light bulb is simple…just due to the fact that another person figured it out!

Now it is time for Delighted Talk or how to talk in a manner that makes your friends and family delighted …

1. Enjoy Yourself

Invest twenty minutes asking yourself:

A. Who do I enjoy most in my life?

B. What do I like most about myself?

C. What things do I like most in my life?
After doing this workout you will feel much better. And you will have done it without needing to invest any cash on costly clothing, automobiles or vacations!

2. Spread out the joy

Now that you recognize and are present to your happiness you will radiate this to whoever you hang out with. Joy is transmittable. Simply be yourself and top up the joy by silently asking yourself the above 3 concerns when you are not in a joyful state.

3. Program your loved ones how to be feel joy and happiness

Depending upon how well you understand your friends you might wish to approach this step in one of two methods.
If you wish to play it safe ask your partner to discuss times when she/he enjoyed. Let them talk and simply listen as they relive those fantastic times from the past.

Share your own preferred minutes too. Enjoy yourself!

If individuals you are with are more available to the concepts we are going over here take them through the actions I covered above in area one. Inquire these concerns:

Who do you like most in my life?

What things do you like most in my life?
The Dalai Lama teaches that the function of life is to be present to your joy and happiness or a state of bliss in every moment. Go on and live a life of happiness and purpose with your friends and family!

What is the one thing you desire more than anything else for the individuals you like the most? Believe of a time when you were blissfully delighted. Did you feel caring at that time? Now that you feel happy you will radiate this to whoever you invest time with. Simply be yourself and top up the joy by silently asking yourself the above 3 concerns when you need to get back into a state of happiness.

Invest in yourself.  Daily!  When you feel you have value….others will also!

Encourage Yourself With Favorable Self-Talk

As I have spoken about before, the #1 most important trait for an Entrepreneur to become successful is their belief in themselves and their success level or standards they believe are their foundation.  When I talk to successful Entrepreneurs….they have a belief and a self talk that encourages them to keep moving past obstacles. These effective entrepreneurs  talk to themselves in a lot more favorable method than less successful people.

Your level of success in regards to your joy, emotional wellbeing and anything else you want is a direct outcome of how you talk with yourself. The most crucial relationship you’ll ever have is the one you have with yourself.
Listen to the self-talk that goes on in your head and ask yourself – “Is what I’m stating permitting me to be positive, on the top and going all out?” If so – excellent!

” Or is it holding me back and stopping me accomplish my objectives?”
If this holds true – STOP IT, alter the program!

By talking with yourself in a favorable way, you’ll begin to feel physically much better. Words have a massive power to create modification in the chemistry of your body.
Your heart rate, high blood pressure, muscles, nerves and breathing will all respond to the words you state to yourself.

Take a minute to state some words to yourself such as –
” Vacations, warm sunlight, sandy beaches, swimming, chilled beer, scrumptious food. Are you beginning to get good feelings?
I hope you are. Perhaps words like house, household, kids or Christmas offer you some good feelings. Or how about the word “sex?” I wager that might alter the chemistry of your body.
Believe about the things you state to yourself and make every statement in the present tense.
Do not state, for instance – “I’m going to make a success of this organization” or “I’m going to get arranged,” or “I’m going to be far more positive.”

State – “I am completely in control of my life. I am totally confident and favorable.
What you’re in fact doing here is re-programming your subconscious. If you speak with yourself in a favorable method, that’s what your subconscious will concentrate on.

Leading sports individuals understand all this things; they understand that they need to speak with themselves in a favorable method to be successful. Research study has actually shown that the success of the world’s leading golf players is identified by 20 percent physical ability and 80 percent brainpower.
In the everyday jobs that we deal with in our life, we should be no various from sports individuals.
If you talk to yourself in an unfavorable method – that’s what your subconscious will focus on. If you believe – health joy and success -you’re currently there.

Put this to the test immediately; for the next 7 days listen to what you state to yourself and if it’s unfavorable, modification it to something more favorable and you’ll begin to feel much better, look much better and have a lot more success.

Positive self talk is so important for you to live an amazing life.  Life is truly about perspective and not comparing yourself to anyone else but enjoying the positives in your life today!
