7 Simple Tips to Become 10X More Successful – Daily!

In a previous post “Work Smarter Not Harder“….I talk about leveraging tools to help you accomplish more success with less stress.

Today, I wanted to give you 7 Simple Tips to Become 10X More Successful – Daily in Network Marketing. As a fellow Entrepreneur I am learning daily how to be more productive, efficient and effective in growing my brand and footprint in the world.

Here are a few of my favorite ways to work smarter not harder:

1. Establish a “Starting” ritual.
Try to begin your day the same way. If you work at home, maybe take a short walk before you go to your office. Have a cup of coffee/tea or read or meditate before starting your work. An daily starting ritual will ease your mind, body and soul into the day and give confidence.

2. Make a “to don’t” list.
Prepare a list that contains all the things you shouldn’t waste your time on – useless tasks, unnecessary meetings, worthless phone calls, and so on.

Then place it next to your “to do” list – and stick to it. This will become critical in eliminating “time zapping” activities.

3. Learn. “Leaders are Readers”
Become a learning machine. Ask questions. Take smart people to lunch. Read. Read some more. Listen to audiobooks. Take classes. Go to conferences (which are also great places to network.) Added benefit: This makes life more interesting. Yet another benefit: Studies have shown that people who make constant learning part of their lives end up living longer. You will also start to attract more of what you want in life. Laws of Attraction become very apparent quickly!

4. Guard your calendar.
Calendar is King! Make sure your time is focused on your one or two top priorities. Ask yourself: “Is this how I want to be spending my time right now?” Remember: you are your calendar. So treat your calendar with respect.

5. Spend 10 minutes today laughing out loud.
Turn on Comedy Central, read a funny book, look at photographs of yourself in junior high. Laugh. Fully. Do one thing everyday that makes you laugh!

6. Hone your elevator speech.
Be able to explain who you are, what you do, and why someone could benefit from your unique talents – in 30 seconds. Then cut your pitch to 15 seconds. Practice it. Sharpen it… Caveat: An elevator speech shouldn’t sound like an elevator speech. It’s really an exercise in being honest, concise, and interesting.

7. Establish a closing ritual. Know when to stop working. Try to end each work day the same way, too. Straighten up your desk. Back up your computer. Make a list of what you need to do tomorrow. Become consistent in ending your day and leaving work behind to focus on family or yourself.

The key to my success has been consistency in working towards goals I have set out for myself. These goals drive my daily activities and give me a bigger view to focus on so I never get caught in the minutia/drama/negative that others might be involved with.

FUNNY VIDEO – My wife hits a “Bag in One” like a Network Marketing Pro

I had to share this hilarious video! It is truly a “1 in a million” event. My wife hits a “Bag in One” like a Network Marketing Pro!

Here is the scenario:

My wife, Shelly, has wanted to learn golf for years but it was not high enough on her priority list to carve out the time. This past weekend she asked if we could go hit balls at the driving range. Hell yeah, I said!

She got dressed up in her cute golf gear (If you can’t play golf at least you look good trying, right! Lol), and off we went. This golf course is one of my favorite’s as it is in Laguna Beach, California. The course is located about 1/2 mile from the beach up in the canyon. The Ranch, Golf club is a 9 hole course that has deer walking around the course with amazing mountain/canyon views.

So, we get to the course and have a wonderful brunch getting ready to head over to the driving range. Shelly is feeling great and super confident that golf is going to be her new favorite hobby. Shelly has only held a golf club one other time but ready to get on the driving range and make her mark!

As you will see in the video, the wind started blowing with some pretty good gusts at times. My daughter had just got done hitting a few balls and Shelly asked for me to video tape her hitting the “driver”. As she lined up to hit, a gust of wind blew the bag across the driving range and in front of Shelly just at the time of impact. You can see Shelly’s club hit the ground first then the ball making it go low and directly into the bag rolling across the range.

SCORE!! It’s not a “hole in one”….it’s a “Bag in One”! A hole stays in one place….a bag rolling across the range is a moving target that makes it even harder than a hole in one! Lol!

I just had to share. I hope you enjoy the video! If you know anyone that loves golf, please share this 1 in a million shot!

How to Get People to Listen to You in Network Marketing

Do you ever feel like you can’t get your point across to others, either personally or professionally? Communication is one of the most powerful skills you can master. I wanted to touch on this today to help you become a master at communicating with others.

How do you get people to listen to you in Network Marketing: You can’t get another person to listen. They have to choose to listen.

There is a long and short answer here. The longer answer starts with the short answer and then amplifies it a bit. You can’t get another person to listen. You can behave in ways that invites them to listen so that they choose to listen.

In many cases, the reason that people don’t listen is that they don’t feel heard and understood. Their basic and fundamental need to be understood is not met, and they continue talking (in some cases they withdraw) until they feel that you have understood them.

The general idea to remember in the context of this blog is this:

Until a person feels heard and understood, they find it difficult to hear and understand.

Unmet or unfulfilled needs create an internal, emotional pressure in people. This internal pressure causes people to focus on relieving the pressure by finding a way to fulfill their personal need. While they are focused on getting their need(s) fulfilled, they often cannot stop to focus on the needs of others. In order to listen, they have to stop long enough to focus – at least briefly – on the needs of others.

The fastest, most reliable way to help another person slow down enough to listen is to slow down enough to listen. In other words, you need to give to them what you want to receive in return.

When you have listened to them fully, you can then ask permission to share information with them. By asking permission to share information with them, you invite them into the conversation and you improve the likelihood that they will actually listen to what you have to say.

The communication flow could go something like this…

Listen fully and completely to their concerns and frustrations.
Show them that you understand by repeating back their concern. Ask them if you have understood correctly.
Ask them if you can share additional information with them.

While no communication technique will work with every person in every situation, this general strategy will work with many people in many situations.

My #1 tip I tell my clients – “Enjoy Others” and they will Enjoy You! Focus on them like a tractor beam and notice how in tune they are with you. Come from a place of love, encouragement, and honesty.

I recently attended a training with Ray Higdon – Invest, Learn, Teach Workshop. One thing I have learned early in my career is that if I did not invest in myself and grow my value, no one else would invest in me and pay me what I am worth (or thought I was worth).

One thing to remember is that every good coach or trainer has a coach/mentor that helps them see things they cannot in the daily trenches. I thought this was a great post by Ray Higdon named “11 Ways to Making 1 Million Dollars”. I thought it was so insightful that I wanted to share.

I really like #5 & 6:

5. Understand what it means to learn how to make one million dollars. Don’t look at a million dollars (or even a billion) as some pie in the sky goal, look at it for what it is. If you want to learn how to make one million dollars, learn how to add one million dollars or more worth of value to your marketplace. In network marketing it means you have helped enough people snap into being consumers of a product that will help them solve their problems and/or you’ve helped enough people get involved in a business that can help them solve their problems. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY, LEARN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF MORE PEOPLE.

6. Invest in your education. As an employee, even at a high salary, the amount of money you have to invest in your education, is actually minimal. I was in a job that required a bachelors degree before I had one hour of college BECAUSE I was an extremely hard worker AND always strived to make my bosses look good. This is NOT the case for the entrepreneur. You need to look at education as an investment in the one thing that is constant, YOU. I don’t know if the opportunity you are currently in will be the last one you are ever in but I do know that wherever you go, there you are. YOU are the constant, treat yourself accordingly by investing in courses, coaches, mentors and events to improve your greatest asset. My wife and I have invested over $180,000 JUST in coaches in the last year and a half. (and we are excited to invest even more each year).

What a powerful statement: If you want to learn how to make one million dollars, learn how to add one million dollars or more worth of value to your marketplace.

You want to make more money, increase your monthly residual but are you adding that amount in value to your prospect?
