10 Tips On Making A Profitable Blog – To The Top Tuesday

There are millions of blogs on the internet.

Not all blogs are profitable. But many of those blogs could be making money if the owner would follow some “tried and true” methods designed to make bloggers money.

And, if you are getting ample traffic, your blog can be a foundation to your entrepreneurial success.

So in today’s post, I am going to share 10 tips so you can have a profitable blog.

Keep in mind that there are various ways to make money blogging…

  • Affiliate ads
  • Your own products or services
  • Contests
  • Etc…

I do suggest finding one way and mastering it, then adding other money making ways to your blog.

Follow these tips and your odds are much better that you will make money blogging…

Profitable Blog Tip #1: Web Design

The design of your website/blog is the top priority if you intend to make money blogging. This is not an area where you want to “cut corners.”

If web design is a specialty of yours, go for it. Otherwise, I suggest hiring a professional. The overall design will determine if visitors hang out and get comfortable at your blog.

It comes down to

  • Colors
  • Images
  • Font style and size
  • Layout
  • and much more

Profitable Blog Tip #2: Visit Competitor Blogs

By knowing what your competitor is doing, you can find ways to give the audience more value.

Do it different!

Do it better!

Not only do you need to know your target market, you need to know your competition.

Profitable Blog Tip #3: Always Look For Ways To Increase Traffic

When you first start a blog, it will take some time to increase traffic. After all, search engines will have to scroll your site and your keywords/phrases.

But there are many ways you can help to increase traffic…

  • Have share buttons and share your works on social media.
  • Use keywords and phrases that ensure better traffic.
  • Post comments on forums and other blogs. Use your blog as a signature.

And, you could run paid advertising on Facebook, Google or another ad medium.

Profitable Blog Tip #4: Get Quality Affiliates

There are many bloggers who make a hefty income just from affiliate ads. But you want to ensure the products you are marketing are good quality.

Nothing can ruin your blog faster than an unhappy person who remembers your blog led them to a “crappy” product.

I highly recommend that you use the products you are marketing. In some cases, these companies will allow you a trial version so you can know the product is good before you promote it.

Profitable Blog Tip #5: Evergreen Content

When we say “evergreen content,” we speak of content that can be relevant 1, 5, 10… even 20 years down the road.

Blog posts that use a date format in the title usually harm the odds of that content being evergreen. Example: Top ??? For 2017.

How much will that be read in 2019?

But it is okay to have posts like that, but I say you should have the majority as evergreen.

Profitable Blog Tip #6: Information Products

You know things other people would like to know. It makes good sense to offer information and educational products that you sell via your blog.

Many bloggers stick with digitally sent items…

  • eBooks
  • Mp3’s
  • etc..

But, if you have the ability to, shipping products such as CD’s, DVD’s and books can also be profitable.

Profitable Blog Tip #7: Be Content Consistent

This is an important part of the profitable blogging system.

You must get into a habit of posting consistently. Readers will not subscribe to your blog if they are not seeing consistent information on it.

I suggest you make a blogging schedule and follow it religiously.

Profitable Blog Tip #8: Use Images

Blogs that include images are read more than those with just text.

Using high quality images that coincide with your content will entice blog visitors to read the article.

And, be sure to use ALT and TITLE tags that relate to your keyword. This will help people find your blog via image search.

Profitable Blog Tip #9: Always Respond To Comments And Feedback

When a reader comments on your blog, you should always respond. This will show your readers that you do value their input and they will keep coming back and inviting friends and family.

Now, I completely understand not accepting comments that are vulgar or completely “out of bounds.”

I would contact that commentator and explain why you would not accept it and give him/her an opportunity to restate the comment.

Profitable Blog Tip #10: Build The List

The statistics show that most people will not buy something online the first time they see it. They need to know that it is not a scam, that you are a leader in your field and you produce a high quality product or service.

So the key is by showing people you fit in their profile as a safe and fun online shopping opportunity. That your primary goal is to help them solve a problem.

You must keep in touch with these people. They won’t buy the first time, but they will often give you their contact information in exchange for a free ebook, video, whitepaper, etc…

You can then keep in contact with your list sending them new blog posts and newsletters.

As they get to know you, you will see sales.

Conclusion

I KNOW if you follow the tips I gave you, you will grow your blog into a cash register.

But wait! There’s more to help you. Get your FREE 8 Step Checklist: How To Create A Crazy Profitable Website by clicking here.

10 Tips To Help Your Self Worth

There are a million reasons a person’s self worth may be on the low side. If your self esteem is low, it can effect every part of your life.

You need to know that you have a mission on this earth.

You ARE worthy. Here are 10 tips to help your self worth.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #1: Treat Yourself With Respect

Whenever I hear someone call themselves stupid, dumb, or any similar negative “put-down,” I cringe.

The first step to feeling worthy is to treat yourself like you are your best friend. Treat yourself like a queen or a king.

Get up in the morning, look in the mirror and love yourself. You ARE beautiful inside and out!

Don’t ask yourself what the world needs, ask yourself what makes you come alive. And then go and do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” Howard Washington Thurman

Help Your Self Worth Tip #2: Small Goals

I often write that entrepreneurs should set lofty goals. But for the person who is suffering from low self esteem, I would say you should set small goals.

Try setting 5 goals for this week. 5 small goals.

  • Write them down
  • Review the list each morning
  • Achieve the goal and scratch it off your list

Now as you gain confidence, you can start “raising the bar.”

You will find your self worth rising as you meet your goals.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #3: Attack The Fear

In a lot of cases, low self worth is related to fear.

It is time to defeat the fear!

I challenge you to do 3 things that frighten you each and every week. They don’t have to be huge things; I’m not saying you should just head out and go white water rafting in Idaho (I do need to add that to my bucket list).

  • Maybe you fear approaching people… Learn some opening lines and just do it.
  • Possibly, public speaking puts a tingle up your spine. So get out and do it and the tingle will diminish as your self esteem climbs.

If only you could sense how important you are to the lives of those you meet; how important you can be to people you may never even dream of. There is something of yourself that you leave at every meeting with another person.” Fred Rogers

Help Your Self Worth Tip #4: Stay Clear Of Any People Who Are Feeding Low Self Worthiness In You

Be it family members, “friends” or anyone else within your reach, if they are consistently feeding on negatives, maybe it would help if you spent less time with these people.

It may be impossible to completely stay clear of them, but if you cut the amount down, you will probably notice that you feel better about yourself.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #5: Focus On Your Passion

Everyone is passionate about something. It only makes good sense to follow that passion. If you feed the passion, it will feed you a lot of gold stars on your self worth.

Do it as a business or as a hobby… But follow your passions.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #6: Help Others

When you focus on helping other people, you take your mind off the weaknesses that you feel are holding you back.

Everyday, keep a close eye out ways you can help another person. By doing so, you will be helping yourself.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #7: Reflect On Each Day

Before bed each evening, reflect on everything you accomplished that day.

I even suggest keeping a journal of all your accomplishments.

When you adopt the viewpoint that there is nothing that exists that is not part of you, that there is no one who exists who is not part of you, that any judgment you make is self-judgment, that any criticism you level is self-criticism, you will wisely extend to yourself an unconditional love that will be the light of the world.” Harry Palmer

Help Your Self Worth Tip #8: Don’t Compare

This can be difficult, but you should not compare yourself to others. There is No Other You in this universe.

Remember that!

Learn from others but follow the path you are meant to take.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #9: Know That Perfect Never Comes

Perfectionism is a debilitating disease.

Because you will never get anything perfect.

Always use the thought that good is enough. You can always make improvements later. Don’t let the perfection disease hold you down.

Help Your Self Worth Tip #10: Defend Yourself

This takes us back to several of the tips before… If someone is belittling you, in a professional way, defend yourself.

You have every right to. You have come a long way and there is no stopping you now!

This will be the hardest thing to do on this list.

Once you are able to gracefully defend yourself, you will discover an exhilarating cloud of high self esteem.

6 Ways To Leap On The Other Side Of Fear – To The Top Tuesday

One of the top enemies to the human race is fear.

Fear of the unknown!

I believe we need fear to keep us safe, but we must control that fear and always know that we can always leap on the other side of fear.

Because the only way you will realize your dreams is by making that leap.

So let me help you!

Here are 6 ways to leap on the other side of fear.

#1: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Setting Lofty Goals

There is no room for mediocre goals…

Set them high and then promise yourself you are going to fight to reach them.

The promise will overcome any possible fear you have.

And, don’t sweat it if you miss the mark… Do it again and again until you make the goal… and then go higher.

#2: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Replacing It With Gratitude

Every human being feels fear at various points in their life. It is how the fear is handled that determines if the person will stop, move sideways, or keep going forward.

I will never tell you that you won’t feel fear. You will.

But some fears are unfounded and I want to give you a great method of leaping past them.

Whenever you are feeling fear…

  • Public speaking
  • Meeting with investors
  • Prospecting
  • Etc…

Whenever you feel that fear, just replace it with gratitude.

  • Wow, it’s great that I have the chance to speak in front of 10,000 people.
  • They looked at the business plan and agreed to a meeting; I believe we will get funding for our start-up.
  • The chance to help someone reach for their dream and helping me reach mine makes prospecting delightful.

Do you see the point?

Be grateful for the same thing you are fearing.

Positive trumps negative; and fear is a negative.

#3: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Having A Well-Defined Plan

Normally, fear will set in if we do not have a plan, or our plan is too general.

You need to realize what each of your goals are and develop your plan to coincide with reaching those goals.

Take the time to draw up a plan that considers everything. And review your plan every 30 days.

#4: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Going Out And Doing Something Scary Often

What do you fear?

  • Ice skating
  • Roller coasters
  • Water skiing
  • Etc…

Just go out and break over to the other side of fear by doing things you fear often.

#5: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Not Worrying What Others Are Thinking

Sometimes we get so caught up in worrying about what others will think if we fail, that we bring failure upon ourselves.

And odds are, that person really doesn’t care if you succeed or fail.

Well, maybe they care, but they probably will not look down on you if failure happens. After all, they will probably think that it could be them.

If you stop worrying what they think, you are leaping on the other side of fear.

I Saved The Best For Last

#6: Leap On The Other Side Of Fear By Taking Action

When you really look closely at when fear has an onset, it normally comes when we are idle.

Taking action will erase the fear.

If you are on the go, you don’t have time to fear.

So, take action…

  • Write a blog post
  • Go prospecting
  • Develop a new product
  • Etc…

Action is like a doorway to the other side of fear.

Conclusion

Did this help you have a new outlook on fear?

Do you have any questions or feedback? Just post it below.

Bootstrapping Your Startup – 8 Pieces Of Advice

It’s not easy, but it is wise… Bootstrapping your startup encourages following the plan and keeping operations running off the resources you have or the business has generated with sales.

By using this method, you take away a lot of risk. You do not have investors to answer to.

Bootstrapping gives you the freedom to manage your startup the way you know will work.

But I will tell you that many startup bootstrapping efforts fail. This can happen for any number of reasons, but normally it just comes down to mismanaging the resources they had.

In today’s post, I am going to give you 8 pieces of advice on bootstrapping your startup. And, be sure you read all the way to the end where I will share with you a tool that can help you with bootstrapping.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #1: Choose Partners Wisely

In many circumstances, startups come together with 2 or more partners or co-founders. You want to make sure that partners compliment each other. After all, bootstrapping means wearing many hats. You want your partners to have strength in your weak areas and vice versa.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #2: Test The Markets

Before even going forward with a product, you should get out and talk with potential customers. See if your idea will be accepted. If you receive a positive response, move forward.

But there will be more testing too. You need to move as efficiently as possible, so it is wise to run small and low cost marketing tests to find the best results.

Remember, always test beforehand.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #3: Just Say No To Using The Card

Earlier in this article, I mentioned that startup failures come down to mismanaging resources. Just my prediction, but I would gamble to say that 70% of those failures had credit card debt.

Credit card debt can ruin a business quickly. Credit cards are only safe if you pay them off within 30 days, and even then, you may face some costs.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #4: Know Your Competition

There is an old line that says Keep Your Friends Close, But Keep Your Enemies Closer. I won’t state that your competitor should be considered an enemy, but in this context, you want to switch enemies with competitors.

You want to know your competitor inside and out. You want to market on the value your product provides that their product doesn’t.

Also, you should monitor and learn from the competitor’s marketing efforts.

Don’t copy them… Do it better!

Bootstrapping Your Startup #5: Learn

As I said earlier, bootstrapping requires you to wear multiple hats. You want to keep costs down, so you want to be able to do as much of the work in-house.

There are many areas you should consider studying. Read books, watch videos and even take courses in such things as:

  • Business accounting
  • Marketing
  • Sales
  • Recruiting
  • and more…

You can never learn too much!

Bootstrapping Your Startup #6: Embrace Social Media

If you use social media correctly, you can start a buzz without any cost. Start a business page and share your ideas.

Show people inside your operation; tell your story.

Social media… Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram… All these and more can be a great way to market for free.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #7: Network

By connecting with like-minded entrepreneurs, you can share information, new technology and even customers.

It always pays to have more than 1 head when brainstorming about your startup.

Bootstrapping Your Startup #8: Be Diligent About Cash And Budget Management

You want to watch your cash flow, your budget like a hawk!

Keeping track of every penny coming in and going out is a must. Many expenses could count as tax deductions.

I mentioned at the start of this post that I would share a tool that has helped many people keep control of both their personal and their business budgets.

As a startup, I know you can benefit from The Expense Tracker. Just see how this too can help you and get a free 7 day trial by clicking here.

Conclusion

Hey, I am glad you stopped in today.

Be sure and share this with others who may be considering bootstrapping.

Let’s help each other get…

9 Tips On Personal Brand Creation And Management – To The Top Tuesday

When the word brand is mentioned, we often think of products. But a human can be branded too.

No, I don’t mean like cattle.

This is a branding similar to a product branding, but you are the brand… The product.

Why would you want to make a brand of yourself?

As entrepreneurs, we are full of creations. By branding yourself, you spread your wings wide and your followers will be more apt to try all your great creations.

And even for people who do not consider themselves entrepreneurs, creating a personal brand will help you stand out from others in job searches and more.

Now you do want to brand each product, but you will attach them to your personal brand.

In today’s post, I am going to provide you with 9 tips on personal brand creation and management.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #1: Get A Website

It takes some investment, but it is well worth every dollar. Build it with your personal brand… Your name or alias.

Now if you are versed in website design and the creation of a website, you can do it yourself. But many entrepreneurs have learned that it can be wiser to just outsource the design and creation.

You will want…

  • A theme that reflects your style
  • Colors and fonts that are appealing and easy on the eyes
  • High quality images
  • Ultra – high quality content that shows you as an expert in your niche

In building your brand, the best place to start is with a website. And, be sure it is mobile friendly because many people are using tablets and smartphones to browse the web.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #2: Get Social

Going right along with starting a website is also building your personal brand on social media. You can add business, entrepreneur or something similar at the end of your name to develop a separate business page.

Learn to share relevant information that reflects on your knowledge. As you do so, people will realize you are an expert and will come to you with their problems so you can solve them.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #3: Determine Your Target Audience

You should have this narrowed down before you even do steps 1 & 2. You want to narrow down who your primary audience will be. Get as specific as possible. By doing so, you will focus on that group’s needs and wants.

You will attract people outside that target, but by focusing on the target, you will gain more attention with less competition.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #4: Partner With Other Brands

By teaming up with other personal brands, you get “double the punch!”

Your followers will be enticed to follow the other and vice versa. There are many other benefits too. You can share knowledge and more.

I have been fortunate to have partnered with some other great brands:

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #5: Be The Brand

It is the price of fame; branding yourself does give you a measure of fame. Everywhere you go, you need to be a mirror reflection of your brand.

Where the clothes, have the haircut and style, carry yourself as the brand deems you should.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #6: Be Authentic

Don’t try to be something you are not.

You don’t have to be the right thing for everyone. Be yourself and your brand will grow.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #7: Know Your Strengths And Perfect Them

I have said it before and will say it again, outsource or delegate your weak areas. Use your strengths and perfect them. If you are great at public speaking, start practicing and even take a course to perfect your public speaking.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #8: Build Your List

Get out and network with other people. Get contact information. They may not be leads, but they could be prospects or possible partners.

Someone once told me they could tell a person’s influence by the size of their Rolodex.

Personal Brand Creation And Management Tip #9: Know And Tell Your Story

Every brand has a story; your brand should be no different.

Get to know your story and when the opportunity arises, share it.

Everyone loves a story.

Conclusion

So have you started creating your personal brand?

I know these tips will help. Use them and come back and share how your brand building is going.

While you are at it, be sure and get my book To The Top to help you even more. You can order your copy here.

I am so happy you stopped by today. As always, my goal is to help you take your business…

8 Tips To Create More Happiness And Fulfillment In Your Life

Isn’t it what the majority of humans want, more happiness and fulfillment?

Are you as happy as you would like to be? Is your life fulfilling?

And the majority say…

I could use more happiness and fulfillment

So today, I am going to give you 8 tips on creating more happiness and fulfillment in your life. Be sure and share this with others too.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #1: Do What You Love

Life is just too short to to be tied down doing something you dislike or even hate for the sake of money.

Am I telling you to just quit your job or what you are doing?

No!

Be wise and get creative. Look deep inside and determine what you do love. Use that love to create, develop, and you can find a way to make the money you need to survive. And then stop doing what you hate.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #2: Master Time Management

Planning and prioritizing your time will lead to fulfillment. If you work on the areas where you have strengths and outsource or delegate your weak areas, you will discover the daily tasks getting completed in a more competent manner.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #3: Don’t Equate Happiness And Fulfillment With Money And Possessions

When you can get the mindset that your happiness and fulfillment come from within you, you will gain a new-found revelation.

True, a boat, new car, trip to London or any number of other fun things are a by-product of being happy and fulfilled. But if it isn’t coming from within, none of those items will make you truly happy and fulfilled.

Are you happy with yourself? That is the key!

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #4: Consider Your Circle

Think about the people you are around the most…

  • Are they positive?
  • Negative?
  • Happy?
  • Angry?

While happiness and fulfillment do not come from outside sources, the people you are around the most can influence your inner being.

Does that mean you shouldn’t talk to your negative relative?

No.

But I am saying you should try to surround yourself with positive, upbeat friends and family.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #5: Be Health Conscious

It is true… Healthy People Are Happy People.

  • Eat properly
  • Sleep comfortably
  • Exercise
  • And get check-ups on a regular basis

Remember, it is difficult to take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #6: Courage To Take Risks

Have you not felt the exhilaration of taking an entrepreneurial risk, succeed or fail?

Yes, success is our goal, but we gain success via series of failures.

It’s called The Learning Curve.

If you have courage to take calculated risks, you will live with fulfillment and happiness. Fear can be the #1 enemy of happiness.

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #7: Seek At Least 3 Laughs Every Day

Sometimes our days are filled to the brim.

While many tasks on a daily basis may not have anything to laugh about, at some points during the day, I suggest you seek that laughter from another source.

While I am not a doctor, I am going to prescribe you some “Happy” medicine.

Find 3 ways to get a hearty, down from the lower gut laugh every day.

It works!!!

More Happiness And Fulfillment Tip #8: Live To Keep Learning

We will never know it all.

As entrepreneurs, I feel that we should always invest in learning more. After all, we are the problem solvers.

The more we learn, the more we earn!

So you have always wanted to learn:
