11 Ways to Making 1 Million Dollars

I recently attended a training with Ray Higdon – Invest, Learn, Teach Workshop.  One thing I have learned early in my career is that if I did not invest in myself and grow my value, no one else would invest in me and pay me what I am worth (or thought I was worth).

I just received this certificate in the mail.  Thanks Ray Higdon!

One thing to remember is that every good coach or trainer has a coach/mentor that helps them see things they cannot in the daily trenches.  I thought this was a great post by Ray Higdon named “11 Ways to Making 1 Million Dollars”.  I thought it was so insightful that I wanted to share.

11 Ways to Making 1 Million Dollars
I really like #5 & 6:

5. Understand what it means to learn how to make one million dollars. Don’t look at a million dollars (or even a billion) as some pie in the sky goal, look at it for what it is. If you want to learn how to make one million dollars, learn how to add one million dollars or more worth of value to your marketplace. In network marketing it means you have helped enough people snap into being consumers of a product that will help them solve their problems and/or you’ve helped enough people get involved in a business that can help them solve their problems. IF YOU WANT TO MAKE MORE MONEY, LEARN TO SOLVE THE PROBLEMS OF MORE PEOPLE.

6. Invest in your education. As an employee, even at a high salary, the amount of money you have to invest in your education, is actually minimal. I was in a job that required a bachelors degree before I had one hour of college BECAUSE I was an extremely hard worker AND always strived to make my bosses look good. This is NOT the case for the entrepreneur. You need to look at education as an investment in the one thing that is constant, YOU. I don’t know if the opportunity you are currently in will be the last one you are ever in but I do know that wherever you go, there you are. YOU are the constant, treat yourself accordingly by investing in courses, coaches, mentors and events to improve your greatest asset. My wife and I have invested over $180,000 JUST in coaches in the last year and a half. (and we are excited to invest even more each year).

What a powerful statement:  If you want to learn how to make one million dollars, learn how to add one million dollars or more worth of value to your marketplace.

You want to make more money, increase your monthly residual but are you adding that amount in value to your prospect?

How to Turbo Charge the Growth of Your Network Marketing Business!

Become the Pace Setter for your Network Marketing Team!

I have listened to so many people that are struggling in their Network Marketing Business and wondering “why” their team is not exploding…..or even growing.

I learned long ago that if I am  not setting the pace….I am following someone else that is going a lot faster than I am.  The challenge in Network Marketing is that we are building our team.  Meaning, you can rely on your leader for a while but if you want to really build a Network Marketing business….you need to step out from the draft of your leader and set the new pace you want to build your team at.

For A-type builders…they get really excited by setting the pace and typically most people can’t keep up. My recommendation if you are not a “driver” or A-type personality….you follow an A-type person and learn, listen, and mimic this person.  What you will find is that your pace starts picking up.  You start becoming a Pace Setter and not even realizing it.

Also, if you are not an A-Type person….typically you are a good relationship building person.  If so, start to fill the position of “rewards manager”.  Meaning, when anyone on your team hits any goals, ranks, recruits a person…..anything positive…you need to recognize them on all social media, internal platform, emails, texts, etc….

Make sure you constantly provide fuel to the fire….keep momentum happening….excitement happening….growth happening!Last, become a shining star for “POS – Positively Outrageous Service”.  Become “that” person that people talk about.  Become “that” person that people want to be around, want to learn from, want to join and grow because you provide so much value and soul.

Become a Pace Setter.  Attract More Prospects!

My “Why” for Writing This Book

ericshelly youngTwenty-two years ago my wife and I lived in a studio apartment— just big enough for a queen-size bed and our stereo equipment—in Southern California. I was struggling to pay rent, our car payment/ insurance and food. I was naive to wealth and didn’t understand anything about finances, from making money to managing it. I was trying to become a professional actor/model and leave my mark on the world.

One year later (after a New Year’s celebration, naturally) we decided that we were going to stop being “OK” with barely making it and instead set our intention to becoming better…in every area of our lives.We devoted our television time to reading books together. Instead of eating out, we made dinner for one another. Instead of being scared, we encouraged each other to take leaps of faith. We pushed each other out of comfort and into a reality of growth/change/enlightenment/ passion and, best of all, abundance!levis_ad_1

That year after taking action towards our goals, I booked the worldwide Levi’s campaign for both TV and print (billboards, retail stores, etc.). We went from scraping by to tens of thousands of dollars coming in faster than we could spend it. I thought it would never end. We had finally made it! We were rich!!

Within one year, we went from being “rich” to wondering where all the money had gone. What had we done?! How could this happen? Where did we go wrong?

What I realized is that I stopped doing the very things that had created this wealth. I stopped growing. I had become comfortable.

In the last twenty-two years I have made millions and lost millions, and what I have realized is that life is truly a journey of lessons. Take pleasure in learning the ups and downs. Take chances or you will always look back and wonder, “What if?” Fear is the thief of dreams; don’t let it steal yours!
