3 Emotions that Cause People to Buy or Join Your MLM (Without Rejection)

Let’s get started….

There are only 3 “triggers” that will cause someone to buy or join your MLM:

1. Pain

2. Gain

3. Fear

The key is tapping into one or more of these key “emotions” or “triggers”. If you don’t…no one is taking any action.

The challenge is 97% of Network Marketers struggle trying to “sell” on the gain emotion. Money, Dreams, Cars, recognition, etc…
This is the LEAST motivating for the long term…let me explain. I can get someone excited to buy as I have them in an emotional state of “Hope-ium”…. all the wonderful things they are going to get by joining my business…but as we all know, it takes time to build a business and what emotion kicks in when they get their first “no”?

Fear…right? “oh, my gosh this is going to be harder than I thought”….Wow, can I really succeed?What if I fail?Did I make the right decision?….Can I get my money back?…etc….

Just remember this one simple fact: People Buy Emotionally, BUT, They Justify Factually.

Meaning, unless it makes me money or provides some kind of return that is tangible, people will go into a fear state of mind and cancel…that is why the Network Marketing profession is a revolving door for many companies because they focus so much on the product and giving a new Distributor “sales material” and “product” and say “great job…now go out and build your business” but not giving the new distributor any tools to run, oh yeah, the BUSINESS….THIS IS A BUSINESS, IF YOU RUN IT LIKE A BUSINESS, IT WILL PAY YOU LIKE A BUSINESS…unless you are just a consumer of the product.

That is why I teach, Fear is a much greater motivator….go create some! One of the biggest fears is losing my MONEY!

So, if I can show you that everyday you go work your 9-5 job AND lose approx. $300-$500/month in taxes by not having a home business…basically working the first 3-4 months of each year for NOTHING.

Did I also hit “pain” with this last sentence: You are basically working the first 3-4 months per year to pay taxes.  Would anyone get angry at that?  Would anyone feel “pain” with that?  Of course they would!  I would too!

I want to be clear.  I do not advocate tax evasion or not paying your fair share in taxes BUT NOT A PENNY MORE!

Now, instead of trying to “sell” my products, I am sharing great information that can save my prospect money each month WHILE giving them the ability to share that great information and make money on top of the money saved.

I have now shifted the power from the buyer to me, the sharer. Everyone will want to know how to KEEP $300-$500/month immediately but you will always hit the “money obstacle” when you ask them to SPEND $300-500 to join your business.

Most people are not sales reps, networkers, outgoing….you need to quickly show them how to get out of the mindset of selling and start helping others get a raise in their 9-5 job by joining your business…this gives them a way to be profitable month 1 and keep them in the business long enough to learn the ropes, comp plan, and talking product with others.

Remember, Network Marketing/Direct Sales is a profession of duplication and unless you can give your team a “non-threatening” and without any reputational risk to introduce to their network, you will find yourself constantly pumping up the balloon that keeps deflating!

There are some people that are just built to wake up each day and go full throttle while others drift many days in a row.

You need to always have reminders not to take life for granted and to make sure you are going forward each and everyday in your personal and business life.

This is text I have on the wall to the right of my desk:

Whether you are building a Network Marketing company or as an employee for someone else.  You need to build your dreams everyday and put in work towards this goal.  This will give you a daily sense of accomplishment and growth daily!

I am travelling speaking in 8 SE Asia Countries in 9 days.  I get the question all the time; “wow, you are so busy, how do you enjoy life?”.

The truth is, I have a ton of time to enjoy life.  How?  I prioritize my time each morning so I can accomplish tasks in a very efficient and effective manner.

This eliminates tasks converting over to the next day and stacking on top of each other and adding stress in my life.

8 tips to Kick Laziness in the Teeth! During the Workday to Build Your Network Marketing Business

Explode your productivity by taking note of these eight things:

1. Create a smaller to-do list. Getting things accomplished during your workday shouldn’t be about doing as much as possible in the sanctioned eight hours. It may be hard to swallow, but there’s nothing productive about piling together a slew of tasks in the form of a checklist. Take a less-is-more approach to your to-do list by only focusing on accomplishing things that matter.

2. Take breaks. You know that ache that fills your brain when you’ve been powering through tasks for several hours? This is due to your brain using up glucose. Too many people mistake this for a good feeling, rather than a signal to take a break. Go take a walk, grab something to eat, workout, or meditate – give your brain some resting time. Achieve more productivity during your workday by making a point to regularly clear your head. You’ll come back recharged and ready to achieve greater efficiency.

3. Follow the 80/20 rule. Did you know that only 20 percent of what you do each day produces 80 percent of your results? Eliminate the things that don’t matter during your workday: they have a minimal effect on your overall productivity. For example, on a project, systematically remove tasks until you end up with the 20 percent that gets the 80 percent of results.

4. Start your day by focusing on yourself. If you begin your morning by checking your email, it allows others to dictate what you accomplish. Set yourself in the right direction by ignoring your emails and taking the morning to focus on yourself, eat a good breakfast, meditate, or read the news.

5. Take on harder tasks earlier in the day. Knock out your most challenging work when your brain is most fresh. Save your busy work – if you have any – for when your afternoon slump rolls in.

6. Pick up the phone. The digital world has created poor communication habits. Email is a productivity killer and usually a distraction from tasks that actually matter. For example, people often copy multiple people on emails to get it off their plate – don’t be a victim of this action. This distracts everyone else by creating noise against the tasks they’re trying to accomplish and is a sign of laziness. If you receive an email where many people are CC’d, do everyone a favor by BCCing them on your reply. If your email chain goes beyond two replies, it’s time to pick up the phone. Increase your productivity by scheduling a call.
Network Marketing is a “People” business, pick up the phone and connect with People.  Start by doing it 1 time.  You will quickly find that 1 turns into 51 and watch your business boom!

7. Create a system. If you know certain things are ruining your daily productivity, create a system for managing them. Do you check your emails throughout the day? Plan a morning, afternoon, and evening time slot for managing your email. Otherwise, you’ll get distracted from accomplishing more important goals throughout the day.

8. Don’t confuse productivity with laziness. While no one likes admitting it, sheer laziness is the No. 1 contributor to lost productivity. In fact, a number of time-saving methods – take meetings and emails for example – are actually just ways to get out of doing real work. Place your focus on doing the things that matter most as efficiently and effectively as possible.

4 Tips to Help with Building Your Energy to Succeed, Everyday!

I was recently flying from Dallas, Tx to Orange County, Ca and as I boarded the plane I found my seat next to a lovely young lady that stopped me and said “I see colors coming off you”.

Now for the record, I figured she must have been smoking something and the buzz just hit her but as I sat down and we began to converse, I realized this person is very in tune with people’s “energy” and how they’re feeling.

I was fascinated by the insight she was giving me about myself and my thoughts, feelings, and passion….she just met me, how did she know so much about me?

One thing she said really stuck with me and made great sense.  She said, “everyone has an “energy” that shines out from them about 8 feet.  This is the reason you can walk into a room and see strangers and already “feel” how they make you “feel” without ever saying a word to them.  Ever notice how you are attracted to some people while others might turn you off without ever talking to them?  That is because they are shining an energy of how they feel and you are feeling this energy from them.

I truly believe she is correct about this energy and how it shines from you everyday.  What is your energy saying about you?

I want you to think about this.  When you call people and discuss your Network Marketing business opportunity….what is your energy as you talk to them over the phone (because people can feel how you feel even over the phone).  Are you giving an energy of passion, excitement, confidence?  Or, one of desperation, worry, need, insecurity….are you uncomfortable?

Remember this, when you sit with someone or meet someone in person….they see you, more than hear you.  This is important to remember, they are watching you (how do you feel about what your talking about, do you look at them in their eyes, are you confident).

The content you are talking about is really secondary….they need to feel your passion and excitement and this will shine on them and get them excited and feel a need to connect with you and want to be apart of what you are doing.

Here are 4 Tips to Help with Building Your Energy to Succeed:

1.  Before ever talking to someone – SMILE!  Smiling is powerful, it’s contagious, it’s beautiful!

2. Find the things about yourself and your business that you feel most excited about and share them.  What got you SO excited about your Network Marketing business opportunity?

3.  People only join people that provide “Value” to them.  What is Your Value?  This is something that is really key and as you discover your value, this will create energy!

4. Are you having fun?  No one wants to work more.  People want to have fun while growing themselves into a better person and making money doing it.  Create an environment of fun, collaboration, brainstorming…this creates an AMAZING energy that gives people a sense of worth and contribution!

Everything in life carries “energy”.  Have you ever wondered why some people just have all the luck.  Are they truly “lucky” or do they just have a positive “energy” that attracts positive outcomes.

I wanted to post this picture today to help you discover actions that create a “positive energy” and “positive outcomes”.
 
One of the key things I constantly tell my clients is “learn to laugh at yourself and often”. 

Why? 

Because smiling/laughing creates more feel-good chemicals in the brain called – endorphins.

Have you ever noticed that when you feel great, more positive things happen.  When you feel bad, more bad things keep happening.

Even more important….emotions are contagious!  Why do others want to hang around people that make them feel great!  Their energy makes them so attractive!
