The Fear That Holds Us Back: Tips For Overcoming Fear For Entrepreneurs

I have met many creative individuals throughout my lifetime. Looking at their abilities, I wondered why they were not taking those talents into an entrepreneurial realm. When digging deeper, I discovered that the primary reasoning was one simple 4 letter word… Fear.

Why do we fear?

This is a question that gains many opinions. I believe psychology professors ask this question often just to see the multiple responses that will come from students.

Is there an absolute answer? I doubt it, but a common response is fear was bred into us as children. Parents have a tendency to instill fear in children over some areas that people should not fear. There are people who fear:

  • Losing cell-phone contact – Nomophobia
  • Looking in mirrors – Spectrophobia
  • Anything that is new – Cainophobia
  • and many more.

It’s crazy but…

Have you really considered some of the crazy things you fear? Everyone has fears; some are understandable and others seem unfounded but never-the-less, they are still fears and people must find a way to deal with or overcome those fears.

And today’s post is meant to help would-be or new entrepreneurs conquer and overcome the fears that can hold them back.

Now please excuse me for a moment while I turn my cell phone off because I fear getting calls in the midst of writing such an important article… Yes, I do have fears too.

The most common fears entrepreneurs have

We won’t talk about fear of snakes or fear of heights in this post. These are not common fears in the entrepreneur world even though you may run across 1 or 2 snakes in your entrepreneur journey. You also need to deal with your fear of heights so that when you gain success and climb to the top of the entrepreneur mountain, you won’t be scared.

Common fear #1: Fear of Failure

This is an understandable fear. I have it and every entrepreneur I know has this fear. It is how we deal with this fear that is the key.

The realization hit; several failures lead to success. By knowing this, we pick ourselves up after a failure, learn from it and make appropriate changes and move towards the next possible failure that will one day lead to success.

Overcome the fear of failure by embracing failure.

Common fear #2: The Fear You Are Not Good Enough

Confidence is an important aspect of being an entrepreneur. There are many entrepreneurs who were told they were not good enough but instead of letting that hold them back, they rebelled and proved those people wrong.

Maybe rebelling isn’t in your nature so…

Overcome this fear by doing small tasks and reward yourself when completing them.

Common fear #3: Fear You Don’t Have Enough Experience

Sorry to tell you this, but this is an illogical fear. After all, what entrepreneur can you name that had experience when they first started? Of course you don’t have any experience which leads to the way to

overcome the fear of not having enough experience is to follow the Nike motto: Just Do It!

Common fear #4: Fear That You Will Not Recover Investment Monies

We are hitting into one of my fears and I believe this is a fear of many entrepreneurs. It is a realistic fear and there is only one way to overcome this fear.

Overcome this fear by working smart and hard… Never Quit!

Common fear #5: Fearing It Won’t Be Perfect

I have news for you – It will never be perfect. You do your best and if you find errors or a better way down the road, you make needed changes.

Overcome perfection fear by realizing good IS good enough.

Common fear #6: The Fear That The Business Will Be All-Consuming

This is another understandable fear. Working a regular job, we know when we have time to spend with our family. But when we take on entrepreneurship, it becomes more than full time and can consume us. Many who do not defeat this consuming monster have deep family troubles.

Overcome the fear of consumption by delegating responsibility and using time management. Make time for your family.

Get Rid Of The Fear!

Fear is a mindset and the primary way to defeat fear is to just do what you fear.

I challenge you to think of all the things you fear and do 1 of them each week as long as they are legal.

  • If you fear the ocean, go surfing
  • If you fear crowds, try a concert
  • etc…

Be sure and stay attached to my blog as I will touch more on overcoming fear in future posts.

Please share this with others who may be facing the same issues in their entrepreneurship.

One of the best ways to beat fear is with motivation. I know that my 7 days to unstoppable motivation challenge can help you expand away from fear on to a road of success.

Great Rebuttals That Entrepreneurs Can Use

Recently, we published a post on dealing with objections you will find in your life as an entrepreneur. I promised that I would publish a post with some excellent rebuttals you can use to overcome some of these objections.

As an entrepreneur, you will discover just a handful of common objections. How you rebut that objection will be a key on whether you gain a sale from the person you are speaking with.

Before I go into these rebuttals, you need to know that you have to “fit” the rebuttal for the given situation. Use common sense and you can become the king or queen of entrepreneurs.

You want to receive objections

It may sound crazy, but you want to get objections.

Why?

Because if the person objects, that means they have interest, but you have not answered everything in a way that can justify their giving you money in exchange for the product or service you have.

Most experienced salespeople get nervous if they get a sale without having to give any rebuttals to objections. It usually means the person just bought to not hurt their feelings and will cancel soon after.

Good rebuttals come from the entrepreneur knowing the features and benefits of their products

As I stated earlier, you will need to know how to word the rebuttals I am providing to match your particular situation. One key in doing this is by understanding the features and the benefits of the product or service you are selling.

If you are not well versed in features and benefits, your rebuttals will likely fall on deaf ears.

Great rebuttals are automatic

It will take practice, but you need to make your rebuttals come out as if it just came off the tip of your tongue. It needs to be automatic. Believe me, after you use rebuttals for a little while, they will become automatic.

Another thing you should know is – it is not necessarily what you say, but how you say it.

Take a look at some of these rebuttals to common objections; use them as you will, just make sure and adjust them to fit your business structure.

I’m not interested

This is probably the most common objection and also the objection that entrepreneurs and salespeople “screw up” the most.

A key to rebutting this objection is first acknowledging the objection:

{Prospect’s name} I understand.”

It is now a great moment to use previous customers that may be the prospect’s competitors or he/she is aware of.

Others such as {previous customers} felt the same way at first. But when they became aware of the benefits (name 1 or 2 that would fit) of using {your product or service}, and agreed to test it for {time period}, they discovered it a great asset. {Prospect’s name}, if you will allow me to explain the benefits and how it can become an asset in your life/business, and you can then decide whether {product} will be a good fit… Okay!”

By using empathy at first, you take the immediate defensive measures away from the prospect. By sharing that others similar to them also felt the same way but changed their mind, it will spike curiosity. You will now have a person who will listen.

I should mention that this is not really a true objection but is actually what is called a “blow off.”

It is too expensive

Here is another common objection that you should always treat as a line of baloney. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but price is normally never a true objection because if a person is attached to getting a certain item because of how it can help them, they will pay the price.

Again as all objections, you need to acknowledge the objection.

Yes {prospect’s name}, you are right, the price is higher than many items that claim to do similar things.”

Now I have found to appeal to their intelligence.

There are many cheaper products that are exactly that…cheap. A person can pay less for say, a meal at a fast food restaurant and be hungry and unsatisfied just hours later, or they can pay more for the steak house and be satisfied until breakfast. Our product is similar to that Prime Rib. While {product X} offers {brief competitor features}, our product will do {benefits and features directly relating to prospect} that the competition doesn’t offer.”

If you can or do offer a trial version or sample, now is a great time to reflect that.

Now the close: “You seem like a Prime Rib person to me, so let’s get you started Okay!”

This rebuttal goes after the person’s emotions, and emotions sell much more than logic does.

I’m busy, just send me information

Well great {prospect’s name}. Being busy means that business is going well and I am happy for you.

The acknowledgment and also patting the prospect on the back for a job well done.

Now is the time to:

  • We have a lot of written information, and I don’t want to ‘bury’ you with too much. It would help to know your business/personal needs that we can help solve for you”
  • Ask questions to understand the prospect’s needs.
  • I believe that the written information will help you realize that (product or service) will be a huge help and I would like to answer all questions you may have immediately. Knowing you are busy right now, I propose we talk say… Friday at 2. That will work won’t it?”

Notice in the final bullet point that the entrepreneur never asks if it will be okay; he/she says, “That will work won’t it,” or something comparable. By using this technique you assume they won’t be busy then, because if you ask, the natural sales response will be busy too.

Now I also suggest you find one brochure or flier and send it to the prospect immediately after the call with a note thanking them for their time and a reminder of the coming appointment.

Conclusion

These 3 objections are probably the most common. Use the rebuttals I provided changed to fit your business, and I believe you will notice a marked difference. Again, how you say the rebuttal can be just as important, if not more so, than the words you speak.

In further articles, I will share other objections and rebuttals, so be sure and bookmark my website and check back regularly for added information to help you succeed in your entrepreneurship.

15 Tips On Dealing With Objections

As an entrepreneur, your primary objective is to make profits. The only way to make profits is by selling. A part of sales is objections, because anyone you are attempting to sell a product or service to will probably have at least 1 objection.

For many salespeople, they will tell you it can be frightening if a potential customer doesn’t have at least 1 objection. It usually means they are buying to cancel just hours later because they did not want to hurt the salesperson’s feelings.

It is in your best interest to look forward to objections

Selling is a fact of life, as are objections.

  • We had to sell parents on allowing us to stay out past dark or drive the family car.
  • We had to sell that teacher on why we deserve a better grade.
  • I bet you used sales techniques on your husband/wife or girlfriend/boyfriend.
  • When we were interviewed for employment, we had to use sales techniques.

I am sure you see my point, so I do get a laugh every time someone tells me they don’t like selling.

I believe truth be told, they don’t mind selling, they are just afraid of rejection and objections.

Common sales objections

No matter what a person is selling, it seems there are just a handful of common objections they will hear. Some of these objections may be phrased differently giving you the impression it is a new objection when it is just a synonym of one of the common ones.

No matter what you are selling be it swim suits, cars, weight loss supplements, etc., you will get objections. And, you need to realize first and foremost that you are selling yourself more than you are the product or service.

These are some of the most common objections:

  • I can’t afford
  • It’s too expensive
  • I’m not interested
  • I’m too busy
  • Just send me information
  • We use the competitor’s
  • I’ve never heard of you, the product or the service
  • I don’t see what you or your product could do for me

Everyone of these objections can be defeated with the proper actions and words. At a later date, I will write a post with some great answers for objections. But today, I am going to provide 15 basic tips for dealing with entrepreneurs.

#1: Use silence

Sometimes after getting an objection, you can get your words and thoughts just by pausing for a bit in pure silence. Also, this will sometimes keep the person talking who will then give you the answer to the objection.

Just pause for a moment of silence.

#2: Establish trust

By establishing trust with the person, you will have a much easier time answering objections because they will believe what you are saying.

#3: Ask questions to discover the true concern

You will discover that many objections are just a mask for a different concern. The only way to find out that true concern is to ask deeper questions.

I suggest never starting the question with why, but gear the questions into a comfortable zone with them.

#4: Be a product of the product

What this means is: you need to know everything you possibly can about the product or service you are offering. You also need to use it on a consistent basis.

Would Henry Ford drive a Chevrolet?

#5: Have some pre-set answers to common objections

You may have to adjust the wording slightly for each situation, but it can be a huge benefit to have a list of pre-set answers to common objections.

You may not use them in every circumstance, but at least you have them when your mind is blank.

#6: Always be honest

Some entrepreneurs have tried to B.S. their way around answering a question for the potential customer. It can be embarrassing if that person discovers that the truth is no where near the answer given them.

If you don’t have an answer, tell them so and you will find an answer as soon as possible.

#7: Learn from failures

Look back on those “almost had them” sales moments and learn from them. What would you have done differently? Now use the different approach when you get a similar objection.

#8: Always have testimonials

When people see that others in their same niche are using your product or service and are happy with it, it will add a lot of credibility for you.

Carry testimonials from those you have helped.

#9: Don’t create unnecessary risks

It can kill a sale if you start explaining the various products or services you use to up-sell if you have not even gained the basic sale. That can frighten a potential customer.

Another problem can arise when you give them too much information which gives the impression that your product will be complicated.

By doing so, you are asking for hard objections that will probably lose a sale.

#10: Focus on value

You focus should always be on the value of your product or service; how can it help the prospect solve a problem?

#11: Price is never a viable issue

When a person gives an objection of I can’t afford or something on those lines, always remember that is never the true issue. More than likely, they are saying, “You have not shown me enough value to justify the price.”

#12: Use empathy

You will find it much easier to deal with objections if you empathize with the potential customer. When they object, ask them questions and put yourself in their shoes… The answer to the objection should come quite easy then.

#13: Have a negotiation plan

Some people are “natural” barterers. They have learned that anything can be purchased cheaper than the asking price. It is wise to have a plan to negotiate if you come across any of these people. And, stick to the plan.

#14: Thank them for objecting

This is a method that will take the “fire” from the potential customer. When they give an objection, thank them for bringing that up because you want to completely have them sure they are making the proper choice… And proceed to rebut the objection tactfully.

#15: Don’t take it personal

I saved the most important tip for last; you just cannot take any objections or even an all-out no personal.

It is just business and you will probably get far more no answers than yes’.

Just keep smiling and move forward to the next person.

6 Simple Daily Tips to Motivate The Aspiring Entrepreneur

entrepreneur motivationAre you reading this post for motivation?

You are a new entrepreneur and you believe you need a dose of motivation, so you opened Google to find that motivation you need.

I have some news for you…

You are looking in the wrong place.

  • I can’t motivate you
  • Brian Tracy can’t motivate you
  • Zig Ziglar, Jim Rohn, Napoleon Hill, etc… cannot motivate you

But all of the above can, have and will tell you how you can get motivated, and it is right in front of you

when you look in the mirror.

Now don’t get me wrong, there are some external things that can motivate people. Try putting your hand in a fire and you will quickly gain motivation to pull your hand free of the flames.

But for entrepreneurs, there are few, if any external factors that can motivate us.

The entrepreneur’s motivation must come from internal sources

But, you can get external motivational helps.

I look back to the quote by the great football coach Vince Lombardi whom I quoted at the start of this post. While many people would say that he motivated his players, I would strongly disagree, and I would wager that Mr Lombardi would also have disagreed.

I believe he would have said that he just gave his players the words and means to look inside themselves and gain self-motivation.

There is nothing wrong with searching the internet for motivational material but you must realize that it isn’t that material that is motivating you; you are choosing to be self-motivated.

Motivation is a fire from within. If someone else tries to light that fire under you, chances are it will burn very briefly.” Stephen Covey

The self-motivated entrepreneur

  • Knows what he/she wants and has a plan to attain it
  • Are prepared mentally and physically to face each new day
  • Make their own rules
  • Have goals far beyond the normal human’s imagination and they keep focused on those goals

So for the self-motivated entrepreneur, there is no such thing as “luck.” They plan and work to meet the goals they have set.

Some tips to help entrepreneurs with their motivation

There are certain steps you can take to help you with your self-motivation. Only you know what motivates you, but I have found that these tricks help me to gain motivation when I am in one of those low motivational states. These are in particular order.

1: Take a close look at the numbers

As an entrepreneur, you should be tracking the numbers consistently. But digging deeper in those numbers can help you gain a motivational edge.

You probably have goals as to how much you need in profits daily, weekly, monthly and yearly and you examine to see if you are meeting those. But why not go further and, say you have your heart set on purchasing that $70,000 vehicle before the end of the year.

Add the numbers up and break it down to what you need to complete the goal. So how much more in profits do you need to attain that goal? What should you now do to “up” the revenue?

Now you are motivated!

2: Reflect to the past

Just look back when you worked in that office making a salary. Or when you were struggling to meet the house payment, car payment or buying diapers.

Sure, maybe you just had a hiccup in your entrepreneurial journey, but you are still moving forward, and only you can stop you.

Sometimes a small past reflection is a great motivational technique.

3: Tackle the most difficult tasks

I have often found that when I am feeling unmotivated, I just grab the tasks I am dreading the most. By doing so, my mind doesn’t dwell on negatives but on just getting this monotonous task completed. As I finish these difficult tasks, I realize that

I am motivated!

4: Exercise break

I have discovered that when feeling like the motivation factor is low, just going to the gym, jogging, walking or bike riding can help that motivational chromosome get awakened.

Many other entrepreneurs I know state that exercise helps them too.

5: Surround yourself with positive

Personally, I don’t wait for the motivation level to get low to surround myself with positive.

Put up positive posters or pictures of your loved ones. Call one of your friends who is always positive even if their home was destroyed.

6: Learn something you didn’t know

Maybe you have always wanted to know how to build a website, or fix the brakes on your car. Maybe you want to learn how to fly a plane or fish for tuna.

What is stopping you?

With the technology boom, you can learn the basics of nearly anything via videos or reading. Or you could take a class.

Just learning something you have always wanted to know how to do can build your motivation quite high.

So get motivated

I have discovered that as you practice self-motivation, it will become habitual. You will discover that even when something bad happens, your motivation does not falter. You are like the Timex commercial, you just keep on ticking.

Every entrepreneur does have days when that motivation slips slightly, but it is all in how you attack the situation that defines your success.

I know that reading this has probably got you fired up. Let’s keep that fire going! I suggest you take the 7 Days Of Unstoppable Motivation Challenge. I know it will drastically improve your Entrepreneur Journey.

9 Personal Development Musts For Entrepreneurs

I believe personal development is what separates successful entrepreneurs from everyone else. We should always be striving to learn and grow. No matter what is happening around us, there is always something we can learn. We may not use what we learn immediately, but it just may benefit us at some distant period.

That reminds me of a story I heard from a friend. He and his wife were having fun with the top down on their classic convertible Mustang when all of a sudden, their was a loud snapping sound and some lights came on the dash. Pulling over, he opened the hood and saw the belt that went around the fan, the generator, etc. had broken.

Knowing that getting the car towed would be expensive (should have had it in his auto insurance), and it would be a long wait since they were in a desolate place, my friend remembered something he learned many years earlier. She wasn’t happy about it, but he asked his wife to take off her pantyhose. He tied the pantyhose tightly around the gears the belt would normally go around, and he trimmed the excess. The car started and they were able to drive it 20+ miles to a station where they had a new belt installed.

That was a lesson he learned during a personal development period.

If you don’t learn something new today, it was a wasted day.” Unknown

As entrepreneurs, personal development should be a top priority. It can be done by reading books, watching videos, taking courses and utilizing a mentor.

In this post, I am listing 9 personal development musts that all entrepreneurs should focus on.

Maybe you have grown in some of these areas, but do not stop!

You can always learn more; you can always get stronger

I recommend that you plan a personal development regimen on a weekly basis. I have witnessed that when an entrepreneur works on their personal development, their business benefits in mighty ways.

Focus on these 9 personal development areas

1: Health

This IS the top area that should be considered in personal development for entrepreneurs. After all, if your health is deteriorating, how effective will you be in your entrepreneurial journey?

Your health personal development covers a large area. Let me touch on several:

  • Proper meal management. By eating proper diets with the nutrition that will supply you daily needs, you will be able to have the energy to handle your business. If you need guidance, I know several people who can help you get on a proper diet.
  • Hygiene. I have heard many who say that since they work at home 70-80% of the time, they can do so in pajamas. Personally, I believe this is improper thinking. It has been tested and proven that we perform better if we like the way we look. Does that mean wear a suit and tie? No, but just keep your hair, beard or mustache, and other parts of your body neat, and dress in a way that you would be okay if the Governor of your State rang the doorbell.
  • Physical fitness. Keeping yourself in good shape physically is also important. Set up a workout program and you will feel better and your business will be easier to manage.

These are just a few, but know that your health should be your biggest personal development category.

2: Stress management

This goes hand-in-hand with #1 but I felt I needed to separate it because stress is a major factor in the lives of entrepreneurs.

New challenges can create stress, but how you handle that stress will determine how that challenge plays out.

If you are feeling stressed, you may want to try:

  • Going to a quiet zone and gathering your thoughts through meditation
  • Delegate some of the responsibilities. Most stress comes from trying to handle everything yourself.
  • Change your work area. Just simply changing your view can relieve stress.
  • Take a vacation.
  • Join a support group. Find like-minded entrepreneurs and have weekly get-togethers.

These are just a few ways to manage your stress.

3: Leadership

No matter how good of a leader you are, you can always be better. I suggest reading leadership books, attending leadership courses and seminars and whatever else you can to grow your leadership capabilities.

One book I would highly recommend to start with is The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey.

4: Sales

As an entrepreneur, your top priority should be revenue… Sales!

I suggest using a similar approach as the leadership tip in that you learn as many sales strategies as possible. You may not use all these strategies, but understanding them can help you develop the best sales strategy possible for your business.

The first book I recommend you read on this subject is The 21.5 Unbreakable Laws Of Selling by Jeffrey Gitomer.

5: Marketing

Building and marketing your brand is another key function that every entrepreneur should attempt to master. Since marketing is an ever-changing beast, as entrepreneurs we need to make marketing methods a part of our personal development plan.

A book you may want to read on this is by Joe Pulizzi, Epic Content Marketing.

6: Communication

As an entrepreneur, communication is a must. Be it face-to-face, via Skype or email or on the phone, you need to be able to communicate in a way that you will be understood.

One of the best ways to build your communication skills is with a Dale Carnegie course.

7: I.T.

In today’s world, much of our business is done on the internet.

I.T., short for internet technology is a wise personal development plan for entrepreneurs.

There are plenty of books, courses and other means to learn more about the internet world.

8: Time management

You may be busy but are you productive? Do you work on the revenue building tasks or are you doing the tasks that could be handled by a virtual assistant?

I have discovered that one of the top reasons that entrepreneurs fail is because they did not use their time wisely.

I suggest a personal development plan should consist of a time management plan. Consider:

  • Time should not be spent; it should be invested.
  • Complete 1 task at a time.
  • The best time to start is yesterday, but you will have to settle for today.
  • By doing the most important task first, you will do something important every day.

Remember that time IS money. Entrepreneurs should not waste money, and much less… TIME.

9: Accounting

I put this last because I believe it is the least important personal development item on the list, but still ultra-important.

As entrepreneurs, hopefully we have accountants who take care of our taxes, books and more. But it is wise that we know these measures well too. After all, who is going to check the accountant?

I suggest that you learn all you can about numbers. Ask your accountant if you can sit and learn as they balance your books. Take an accounting course.

It will do you good in your personal development and no one will be able to cheat you in Monopoly again.

Conclusion

Personal growth… Personal development is what takes the average entrepreneur to unbelievable heights.

I suggest that you set down right now with a paper and pen and develop a personal development plan to help you grow.

I want to help develop you personally and one of the primary areas I find many new entrepreneurs need assistance with is overcoming objections. And, I have learned to love objections because it gives me that moment to “shine.”

Let me help you “shine” too. I put together a report on how to deal with the 10 most frequent objections. It can be yours by clicking here.

I know this post will help you if you follow the precepts. Now why not share it with your team? Just post it in Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and other social media.

Thank you.

20 Tips To Help You Create a Prospect Traffic Jam

Tips to Get More Prospects and Customers

Whether you are a network marketing business owner or you sell hot dogs on a street corner, your goal is to have a traffic jam. You want people lined up patiently waiting to attain what you offer.

Now the majority of us hate to drive our vehicles in traffic jams but as entrepreneurs, prospect and customer traffic jams are quite welcome. I speak of traffic jams on

  • Our telephone
  • Face-to-face
  • And our website/blog/capture page

In today’s post, I have put together 20 tips to help you create a prospect and/or customer traffic jam.

I know they will help you so feel free to print it off and follow the traffic jam plan.

20 Traffic Jam Tips

Tip #1: Set Goals

All throughout school and life, we learn that the map to success comes by setting goals. After all, you have to know where the finish line and trophy is.

  • How much traffic do you want?
  • Where do you want revenue levels this week? Next month? For the year?
  • How many prospects do you want to turn into business partners?
  • How many customers do you desire?

Set goals and start following a plan to meet those goals.

Tip #2: Be Yourself

Face it, you are not Ray Higdon or Zig Ziglar. You are not Bill Gates or Warren Buffett; You are you, so be yourself and you will win.

Tip #3: Don’t Take Rejection Personal

An important part of business is learning how to embrace rejection. Within traffic jams, there are those who will escape at the nearest exit. It isn’t you, it is just the moment and what is happening in their lives.

If a prospect or customer says no, just smile and move on. They will come back when the time is right.

Tip #4: Do Not Use High Pressure

When entrepreneurs use high pressure tactics, they take a potential traffic jam down to a low trickle of traffic. The question is: would you rather have traffic similar to Southern California #5 at 4 PM or Wyoming County Road #885 at 2 AM?

Low pressure is the way to go.

Tip #5: Create An Educational Blog

One of the best ways to generate high volumes of traffic is to establish that you are an expert in your entrepreneur niche.

You can do this by starting a blog that educates people. As you teach people, they will want to have more of what you offer and you will create a traffic jam.

By the way, I suggest investing in your own website/blog and not using a free one.

Tip #6: Have A Capture Page

Going right along with #5, you need to develop a capture page. This will allow you to get contact information. I suggest offering a free or low cost item in exchange for the prospect’s contact information. You can then send them special offers and info about new products or services as you develop them.

Tip #7: Use An Auto-Responder

It can be quite difficult to respond to each person when you have a traffic jam. I suggest using an auto-responder that will send out predeveloped emails depending on the information your capture page received.

There are various auto-responder systems such as

  • Aweber
  • Mailchimp
  • and more

Tip #8: Stay Consistent

Consistency in your business is important. If a restaurant is open one day at 10 AM and then opens the next day at 2 PM, people will start going to a restaurant that is open consistent hours.

It works the same way with even home based businesses. If you post on Wednesday to your blog, Tuesday the next week and Friday the next, the traffic will be low. If you are consistent, they will know your posting schedule and will keep coming back.

Tip #9: Make A List Of Everyone You Know

This list is known as your warm market. Now contact each person and just tell them about what you are doing. You need not use high pressure, just share and ask them to visit your blog. Tell them you are here if they want to also become an entrepreneur, and you will help them.

It IS that simple.

Tip #10: Advertise

It only makes good sense to advertise. You can use many venues, but the primary advertising schemes entrepreneurs use are Google Adwords, Facebook ads and ads in publications.

Trust me… Advertising creates traffic jams for advertisers.

Tip #11: Find Bloggers That Will Review Your Product Or Service

There are many bloggers that will provide an unbiased review of your product or service if you just send them it for free.

By doing so, they will put a link to your website, social media or capture page and your entrepreneur traffic will get quite heavy.

Tip #12: Make Informational Videos

In a similar traffic sensation from blogging, creating videos can drive traffic to your capture page too. Use YouTube, Vimeo or other video platforms to create traffic jamming videos.

Tip #13: Know Your Target Market

It is imperative that you know and understand your target market.

An example: if you have weight loss products, you probably do not want to write recipes on making chocolate brownies.

You want to develop content that adheres to the tastes of your target market. By doing so, they will share with their friends and you will get a traffic jam of others within that same target market.

Tip #14: Give Samples

If you have a tangible product, handing out free samples along with a business card that will provide your website will get traffic. This method does work, and many entrepreneurs just ask the person to visit the website and leave a comment of how well they liked the product.

Tip #15: Know The Competition

There is an old statement that says “Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer.”

I am not saying that competition is your enemy, but it is important that you follow what they are doing and you do it bigger and better.

Take traffic from the competition’s highway and put it it on your highway.

Tip #16: Master 1 Strategy At A Time

While I am giving you many tips here, it is wise that you choose a strategy and master it before you move into another strategy. Many new entrepreneurs try to do multiple strategies at one time and they fail because they master none of them.

Tip #17: Drop Cards

Here is another excellent strategy for building traffic. Print up simple cards that are postcard size. Put a simple call to action on the card with your website, capture page, social media and phone number.

Now just drop these cards in prime locations where you know your target market frequents.

I have witnessed drop cards on tables of restaurants, in restrooms, Doctor offices, and in various other places.

People are curious and will pick these up and read them and if they have a “spark of interest,” they will take it with them.

Tip #18: Ask Traffic To Share

Just posting a simple request asking readers to share your material can create a huge traffic jam.

If you ask them to share with others, they will!

And by the way, please share this post with your friends. You can do that at the end.

Tip #19: Use Social Media

It is wise that you have social media pages that are a direct reflection of the business you have. Many successful entrepreneurs have a Facebook page, Twitter page, Linkedin page, etc…, that is based on their business.

Tip #20: Use A Strong Call-To-Action

No matter what, you need to guide people on what they should do next.
