You Need To Build An Environment That Inspires You

What’s up?

What’s up?

What’s up everybody?

You know what?

Here’s something I hear all the time from so many entrepreneurs is the blame game. They blame their environment, their circumstances, people around them, the government.

Everything, but never take responsibility for the choices they may make or the non-action they take and wonder why they don’t get anywhere. I wanted to shoot this video first of all to say, you got to take action. You’re never going to experience amazing or epic things if you never take action. You can just sit on the couch and think and dream and be positive but if you don’t take action nothing’s ever going to happen for you.

You Are A Product Of Your Environment

Number two is, you got to put yourself in an environment, surroundings and that could be people.

If you have negative people around you always wanting to pull you down, where do you think you’re going to go? Down, right?

You want people that pull you up and inspire you and encourage you and empower you to do bigger things.

The second is when I talk about environment and surround yourself, it’s your environment meaning

  • Where do you wake up?
  • Where are you doing your work at?
  • If it’s something that people are constantly nagging at you and an environment that’s dirty, it’s cluttered.

I talk a lot about Feng Shui; about the energy of obstacles and things around you. Your environment has a major play on your productivity, your momentum, your attitude that you have towards what you’re doing. Right?

Inspire, Not Expire

You need to choose environments that inspire you versus expire you.

That you wake up and you’re tired every day and you’re wondering why I am so tired.

It’s because your environment is weighing on you, it’s constantly putting pressure on you. You need to put yourself in an environment that inspires you and makes you want to go bigger, makes you want to work harder every day.

I wanted to show you my environment today … about inspiring. This is Saint Thomas, the beautiful US Virgin Islands. Give you the beautiful beach right there. I never shoot videos to brag or to show you what I’m doing.

What I’m really doing is showing you it’s possible.

I didn’t grow up rich and silver spoon in my mouth and everything given to me.

I worked for it, I worked hard, I worked my butt off to get to where I’m at.

I want to inspire others to take action like that and to believe in yourself, to have the right mindset but also to get in the right environment that encourages you to go bigger, to be bigger, to act bigger, to trust yourself bigger. Because I’ll tell you what, too many people want to pull each other down and never want to see anybody succeed up and above them.

Get around people that are bigger than you, that pull you up to their level and get in inspiring places.

Also, I want to let you guys and gals know, the book To The Top IS in audio. You can get it here.

Have a great day.

9 Tips On Giving Exciting Presentations – To The Top Tuesday

We all have witnessed it at some points in our lives; that speaker who was dull, monotone, boring and we put on our sunglasses and slept.

It is up to you as the presenter to ensure your audience is alive, engaged and excited.

To help you, I am going to share 9 tips on giving exciting presentations.

No one will put on their sunglasses.

Exciting Presentations Tip #1: Focus On Audience Interests

It is important that you KYA (Know Your Audience).

You want to keep their interests at the center of your presentation.

As an example… You are giving a presentation on travel opportunities. The audience is newly retired school teachers. You could give the presentation on surfing off South Africa or the presentation focusing on the 7 day cruise to Alaska.

The audience in this case will probably be more receptive to Alaska. How many retired surfers do you know?

Exciting Presentations Tip #2: Be Spontaneous And Unpredictable

How do you think your audience would react if…

  • You suddenly broke into verses of songs at times
  • Or you use jokes at prime moments
  • Etc…

Just by using a spontaneous system will help keep your audience engaged.

Exciting Presentations Tip #3: Give Them Bites, Not Meals

In today’s world, audiences stay more “tuned in” to presentations when the presenter is giving the information in bite-size chunks.

No matter if you are using slides, speaking or any other format, you need to provide short, powerful bits of info. Allow them to “swallow” that info and feed them another bite.

Exciting Presentations Tip #4: Tell Stories

Just think about it, everyone loves stories. There is nothing wrong with integrating short stories within your presentation.

Just tell your story with enthusiasm and show the audience you are a part of the story.

Exciting Presentations Tip #5: Use The PST Formula

In the majority of presentations entrepreneurs will give, I suggest the PST Formula. Each letter stands for:

  1. Problem – Within the first part, you will address the problem that needs to be solved.
  2. Solvation – Someone will probably tell me solvation isn’t a word. IT IS NOW! You tell the audience how you intend to solve the problem.
  3. Technicalities – This is the “nuts and bolts,” and is where you will want to break down the technicalities in an easy to understand system. This is where many presenters can lose their audience. You want to sprinkle in the other tips.

Exciting Presentations Tip #6: Emphasize Key Words And Phrases

This goes right along with not being monotone. As you go through, change your pitch with keywords and phrases. This will sink into the minds of your audience.

Exciting Presentations Tip #7: Ask Questions Often

When you ask a question in the midst of the presentation and pause to give the audience a moment to “digest” it, you WILL engage your audience.

And always give the audience opportunities to speak too. Just control the amount of time they are speaking.

Exciting Presentations Tip #8: Keep It Short

Just because you are allotted 20 minutes does not need you need to take it all. If you can give your audience the “nuts and bolts” in 13 minutes, your audience will be happy.

Exciting Presentations Tip #9: Use Emotion

If your presentation has a part that is sad, show sadness, if joy, be happy!

Let your vocal inflections reflect the emotional part.

This will keep your audience engaged as they will also feel the emotion.

Conclusion

Last but not least, get motivated before the presentation. Don’t let fear have the power.

As a matter of fact, you should use 7 Days To Unstoppable Motivation. Get it here.

I hope this helps you with presentations.

Maximize Your Day With These 8 Tips

One thing we can never get back is time.

Money can be lost and regained, but once you lose time, it is gone forever.

It is imperative that you maximize your time… Maximize your day!

But, it can sometimes be difficult to use our time as wise as we should. Wouldn’t it help if you had a map on how to do so?

Well, today I am going to give you 8 tips on how to maximize your day. Consider this list your map. By all means, copy and print it so you have it as a daily reminder.

Maximize Your Day Tip #1: Follow The Rooster

I believe Mother Nature provided us with Roosters for more than just eating.

The rooster consistently gives us our wake-up call each day.

Learn to get up early and be consistent with the time. You will notice a drastic improvement in your production, I am sure!

Maximize Your Day Tip #2: Get The Sweat On

If you do not take care of yourself, you won’t be able to properly take care of your family and manage your business.

Exercise!

That Rooster wants to see you

  • Doing jumping jacks
  • Riding your bike
  • Jogging
  • Walking
  • Or any number of other exercises.

You will find you are better prepared to “tackle” daily tasks when you make exercise a habit.

Maximize Your Day Tip #3: Eat A Healthy Breakfast

Yes, the temptation of just a hot cup of coffee and rush off to work is always there.

Don’t heed to that tempting thought!

You may have a lot to do, but it will flow much smoother if you eat a solid breakfast. And sure, you can drink that coffee too!

I won’t tell you what to eat… There are many other dietary experts to handle that duty. Just know that this goes right along with taking care of yourself.

Maximize Your Day Tip #4: Smile Often

It doesn’t seem like an action that will help you maximize your day, but it will!

It is amazing what a smile can achieve. As you smile, other people will smile back. Your energy will increase and your day will flow like a finely tuned Rolex watch.

Maximize Your Day Tip #5: Kiss A Frog

and then proceed to eat it!

It was a quote from the great Mark Twain!

Each day, you eat a frog first thing.

What did the great author mean?

What it means is to “tackle” the hardest task in your list. By doing so, you will set the pace for the rest of the day. All other tasks will seem easy in comparison.

Maximize Your Day Tip #6: Don’t Allow Interruptions

There is a fine line between being approachable and accepting interruptions.

You have to focus on the tasks at hand. This is a good time to shut down email and social media notifications, don’t take phone calls, and ask friends and family not to disturb you.

Maximize Your Day Tip #7: Clean And Organized

No matter what you think… A clean and organized work area is more efficient than a messy and cluttered office.

Not only is your own attitude affected by the chaos, you WILL be able to find what you need easier and faster.

Make a point at the end of each work day to organize and clean your work zone. It will help!

Maximize Your Day Tip #8: Set Goals

This should be a no-brainer, but I must list it anyway.

Set goals and go out and reach them. Set daily, weekly and longer term goals.

As you reach goals, set the bar slightly higher. Go for bigger and better goals.

Conclusion

You can never add extra hours to the day, but you can maximize the hours you do have. By following these tips, I know you will find yourself getting more done with the hours you do have.

I hope these tips help you… As an extra bonus, I want to share with you The Home Business Success Kit. Just click here to take advantage of this exclusive offer of 3 tools in 1.

Young And Rich: 6 Successful Entrepreneurs Under 25

There are no age barriers for successful entrepreneurs. I am always intrigued in hearing a story of a young person using their creative powers to develop a product or service that makes the young entrepreneur wealthy.

We often hear about men and women who are in their 50’s, 60’s and even older, who have turned a business into a dynasty. While those stories also interest me, it is the realization that our next generations have entrepreneurial minds that allows me to know that all is not lost.

In today’s post, I am going to tell you about 6 young and rich entrepreneurs who made their success before they were 25 years old.

I suggest you share this with all those youngsters you know so they will be inspired and maybe they can create an entrepreneurial dynasty too.

Young And Rich #1: Mark Zuckerberg

He is now 32 years old but the co-founder of Facebook was 25 when he gained his ultimate success with Facebook. Just this year, Mark was ranked as the 5th richest person in the world with a net worth of $58.6 Billion.

Facebook all started as a Harvard program but quickly spread to other Universities and after, around the world.

Young And Rich #2: Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy

These 2 characters actually turned down $3 Billion from Facebook… Evan was 23 and Bobby 25 when they co-founded the wildly popular Snapchat.

Snapchat has been steadily growing since they developed it.

Young And Rich #3: David Karp

He was only 22 years old when he launched Tumblr. The blogging platform gained immediate fame when it had over 75,000 sign ups within 2 weeks of starting.

Yahoo acquired Tumblr in 2013 for $1.1 Billion and David stayed on as the CEO. He is now 30 years old.

Young And Rich #4: Sean Belnick

He was only 14 years old when this entrepreneur made an impression on the world. Sean had an idea that he could create an office chair business on the internet. With his $500 savings and his wise internet mind, Sean created BizChair.com which quickly grew to $ millions in revenues.

Young And Rich #5: Cameron Johnson

In my opinion, Cameron was born an entrepreneur.

He started his first business at 9 years old selling greeting cards. He made a few thousand dollars and kept using his revenues to start other businesses.

Without all the details of all the amazing ventures Cameron has participated in, I will just tell you he was an easy $ Millionaire before he was 20 years old. He has been on Oprah’s Big Give and Beat The Boss on the BBC.

Cameron is in his mid 20’s now and regularly lectures on how to win as an entrepreneur.

Young And Rich #6: Blake Ross

Blake used to hear his Mom complain all the time about Internet Explorer and he made a vow to himself to do something about it.

At 19, Blake was working at Mozilla when he co-created the Firefox browser which became a huge hit when released.

Blake is now 31 and has worked on other ideas. One of which was Parakey, a computer interface which was acquired by Facebook.

So What Can We Learn From These Youngsters?

We can plainly see that all of these young entrepreneurs used the internet to fulfill their dreams of success. They used technology to move even simple ideas to astonishing heights.

I really consider Cameron Johnson who took an idea that has been here for many years earlier… Office chairs. He just turned the marketing system into a profitable excursion.

So do you really need a new invention? Not necessarily. Just look at what is around you and make it better, or find a way to market it to the world instead of to a small group of people.

It all comes down to vision. Look at the big picture like all these young entrepreneurs did.

If you have a dream and a vision, take that risk and see where your vision goes.

Conclusion

While I used young people in today’s post, I will probably write a post of aged entrepreneurs finding success.

There are no age boundaries for entrepreneurial success. And to help you catch that road to entrepreneur success, I want to offer you a free copy of the 8 step checklist: How To Create A Crazy Profitable Website. All you need to do is give me your email by clicking here.

Measuring And Managing Risk

As entrepreneurs, we must always measure and manage risk.

I am going to share with you a simple breakdown of risk factors you must always keep abreast of.

There are essentially 5 areas of risk in a business.

You will want to measure the severity of risk in each of the 5 areas, and focus your energy on solving an answer to manage that risk in the highest to lowest severity level.

Let’s look at these 5 areas of risk:

Measuring and managing risk: Financial

All risk areas have financial consequences. But when we speak of this area in regards to risk factor, we are focused on the money coming in and going out of the business. Some high risk examples may be:

  • A late or non-paying client
  • Interest rate increase on business loan
  • Etc…

Anything that involves the money entering and leaving the business falls in this area.

There is a tool available to help you manage the financial risk. The Expense Tracker allows you to manage all your money in and out in one easy to use program. Click here to see more about the Expense Tracker.

Measuring and managing risk: Compliance

Rules and regulations are constantly changing. You will want to ensure you are following them.

It is wise to keep atop the rules and regs that your business must abide by.

Measuring and managing risk: Operations

Operational risks are always prevalent, but the way they are managed is the determining factor if the business will win.

It can come down to the competence of employees, out-dated machinery or software or not staying pace with trends.

You should always be looking for operational improvements to keep your business on a winning pace.

Measuring and managing risk: Business strategy

While we often preach about having a well written business plan.

But that business plan needs to have room for flexibility.

Some things can change along an entrepreneur’s business path. If you discover that the market and competition is moving on a path that does not coincide with your plan, can you be flexible enough to change that plan?

Measuring and managing risk: Reputation

In today’s age of technology, the reputation of a business can be damaged in no time. Just one post by an influential person on

  • Facebook
  • Linkedin
  • Google+

Or any of the review websites that roam the internet.

This means monitoring your reputation from all angles.

Is there a risk area that is more important than the others?

Instead of placing importance on the area, you should measure the actual “zones” within those areas.

A great way to measure is to create a risk card… You simply start looking at each area and determine what zone is potential risk. Some examples may be:

  • Financial: A vendor raises their prices for an item you use. You have several choices… Negotiate with the vendor, find another vendor or just raise your prices.
  • Compliance: It suddenly is brought to your attention that the government has issued a rule that your business must use an online encryption similar to the banking industry. The cost for the software is high. But you will have to make the investment to meet the rules.
  • Operations: You are told that your CFO (Chief Financial Officer) is contemplating retirement. Being with the company since founding, this could seriously affect the company. What will you do to prepare?
  • Business strategy: The original plan did not foresee adding on to the manufacturing area. But sales are coming in like wildfire and you need more space to fill orders. Are you flexible enough to change your plan?
  • Reputation: A customer is upset because your company shipped the wrong color item. They complain on your Facebook business page and give your reputation a “punch in the nose.” This is the time to fix the issue publicly. When others see that you are willing to admit the mistake and go to all ends to fix it, your reputation can be saved.

Conclusion

Now that you know the potential risk areas, it is time to plan out a risk management strategy.

In coming posts, I will delve into that deeper. So keep checking back.

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur – 5 Tips

The definition of success can vary from person to person. But I believe there are some commonalities when we review.

And, I often have conversations with other entrepreneurs. This subject arises from time to time.

What is a successful entrepreneur and how to be one

As I said, success is looked at in various ways by humans, but with entrepreneurs, there are many agreements that success consists of

  • Being financially secure
  • Having a solid tribe
  • The ability to take off and the business will run
  • Happy spouse and children
  • And solving problems for the human race

I want to help you achieve all of these and more. Here are 5 tips to be a successful entrepreneur.

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur Tip #1: Knowing Your Strengths And Weaknesses

I have yet to meet an entrepreneur who is successful and does everything in keeping the business running.

You must take a personal inventory… Write down all your strengths and all your weaknesses. Now in the weak areas, you need to recruit tribe members who are strong in that area.

Stay within your strength areas and let others handle your weak areas.

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur Tip #2: Do What You Love And Love What You Do

If you are just in it for the money, you will probably have a difficult time with the business.

You must have passion and a love for what you are doing.

It is that love that will get you through the rough moments. If you don’t have the passion, quitting will be an option. When you have that love, quitting is not even in the vocabulary.

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur Tip #3: Hard Work

I know that some people have a difficult time equating entrepreneurs with hard work. We often picture hard work with some men along side the road digging with shovels.

When I say hard work, it may not be physical, but you need to work hours upon hours while those ditch diggers are drinking beer and watching football. You get up at 6 AM and find yourself shutting your laptop down at 11 PM.

IT IS HARD WORK THAT CREATES SUCCESSFUL ENTREPRENEURS

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur Tip #4: Find Problems To Solve

The key to entrepreneurial success is finding a problem and solving it. Some entrepreneurs even look into the future and prophesy future problems. They work to solve the problem first and have the flagship product.

Look around you; there are problems to be solved everywhere. Listen to people… They will tell you the problems they need solved.

How To Be A Successful Entrepreneur Tip #5: Market… Market… Market

No matter how great your product is; no matter how your idea can solve a myriad of problems – you and your brand will not become known and used unless you market yourself.

I say market yourself because marketing your product is secondary. You need to build your brand. The brand is you!

Every day there are new, or revised marketing techniques being used.

  • Social media
  • PPC ads
  • Blogging
  • Webinars
  • and many others

Keep abreast of marketing. You can never learn too much.

With that being said, I want to offer you a free training course I put together. Just click and scroll down, enter your email and you will receive the course directly:

7 Days To Profitability

Conclusion

Trust me, we will cover this subject even more in coming posts. After all, it is always a part of conversation around entrepreneur network circles.

That is another thing about entrepreneurs… It seems that 98% of us want to help and see other entrepreneurs succeed. Even though it may create competition, we entrepreneurs thrive on competition.

So keep coming back… Bookmark my website and I will keep sharing stuff to help you climb
