How often do you smile in a day?

Do you smile when you meet new people?

When you see your friends?

Around your co-workers?

How about your significant other?

Your face has 44 muscles in it that allow you make more than 5,000 different types of expressions, many of which are smiles. Read on for seven reasons why smiling is good for you, your health and your social life!

7 Reasons to Smile…Everyday!

1. Smiling can make you happy (even when you’re not).

Remember that mind-body connection we were just talking about? Well, it turns out that the simple act of smiling sends a message to your brain that you’re happy. And when you’re happy, your body pumps out all kinds of feel-good endorphin’s. This reaction has been studied since the 1980s and has been proven a number of times. In 1984, an article in the journal Science showed that when people mimic different emotional expressions, their bodies produce physiological changes that reflect the emotion, too, such as changes in heart and breathing rate. Another German study found that people felt happy just by holding a small pen clenched in their teeth, imitating a smile.

Just remember that the research goes both ways. When the people in the first study frowned, they felt less happy, and in the German study, people who held a pen in their protruding lips, imitating a pout, felt unhappy. So the next time you feel sad or upset, try smiling. It just might make your body—and therefore you—feel better.

2. Smiling can make others happy.

“When you’re smiling, the whole world smiles with you.” Ever heard that song, made famous by Louis Armstrong? Well, it’s true. Research shows that smiling is contagious. Ever been around someone who just had something fantastic happen to him or her? Isn’t it almost impossible not to feel good, too? Studies show that something as simple as seeing a friend smile can activate the muscles in your face to make that same expression, without you even being aware that you are doing it. So Cool!

But remember that this. You know the expression “misery loves company”? Frowns act just like smiles, just with a negative reaction, so choose to smile and watch the world smile back!

3. Smiling makes you more attractive.

Ever wonder why are we always asked to smile in photos? Because people usually look their best—and happiest—when smiling. According to the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, 96 percent of American adults believe an attractive smile makes a person more appealing to members of the opposite sex. So the next time you are about to ask someone on a date, smile. It’ll make them feel happier (see No. 2), and you’ll already be more attractive in his or her eyes!

4. Smiling can help you de-stress.

The next time you’re stressed about work or realize that your favorite jeans feel a little snug, don’t freak out. Take a few deep breaths and smile! Smiling may help to reduce symptoms associated with anxiety. When that smile signals to your brain that you’re feeling happy (even though you’re not really feeling happy…yet), your body will usually slow its breathing and heart rate.

Reducing stress is so important for health, too, as it can lower blood pressure, improve digestion and regulate blood sugar. Note that this works during workouts, too! If you’re having a hard time getting through that last rep or getting those final 5 minutes in on the treadmill, smiling can do wonders!

5. Smiling can help you build your business.

If you’re about to go meet a prospect, you may think that your appearance is just about wearing nice clothes. Wrong! You can’t just wear that suit; you have to wear it with a smile. In a study published in the December 2009 issue of Personality and Social Psychology Bulletin, people looked at full-body photographs of 123 people they had never met. The people in the photos had one of two expressions: neutral (think your passport photo) or a smile. And guess what? When observers saw the photos of smiling people, they were more likely to think that the person in the photo was likeable, confident, conscientious and stable. Sound like traits most companies want in an employee, right? So the next time you’re dressing to impress, make sure to take that beautiful, natural smile with you!

6. Smiling can lead to laughter.

Have you ever laughed without smiling? It’s pretty impossible to do. And it’s funny how a smile here and a smile there with friends can turn into a whole fit of hysterical laughter. Numerous studies have been done on the health benefits of laughing, including how it acts like a mini workout that burns calories and works the abs. Laughter also helps blood flow, lowers blood sugar levels, reduces stress and improves sleep. It may also raise the level of infection-fighting antibodies in the body, which helps boost your immune system. So the moral of this story is smile—and laugh—often!

7. Smiling just feels good!!

I make a choice each day to smile more and help others do the same.  It just feels good!

I just wanted to give a shout out to all the Working Women and say; you are confident, strong, motivating, loving, beautiful, sexy, and successful.  Thank you for all you do!

International Women’s Day (IWD), originally called International Working Women’s Day, is celebrated on March 8 every year.[2] In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation, and love towards women for women’s economic, political, and social achievements. Started as a Socialist political event, the holiday blended the culture of many countries, primarily in Europe, especially those in the Soviet Bloc.[3] In some regions, the day lost its political flavor, and became simply an occasion for people to express their love for women in a way somewhat similar to a mixture of Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day. In other regions, however, the political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner. Some people celebrate the day by wearing purple ribbons.

4 Simple Tips to Overcome Social Anxiety

I was recently flying from Dallas, Tx to Orange County, Ca and as I boarded the plane I found my seat next to a lovely young lady that stopped me and said “I see colors coming off you”.  Now for the record, I figured she must have been smoking something and the buzz just hit her but as I sat down and we began to converse, I realized this person is very in tune with people’s “energy” and how they’re feeling.

I was fascinated by the insight she was giving me about myself and my thoughts, feelings, and passion….she just met me, how did she know so much about me?

One thing she said really stuck with me and made great sense.  She said, “everyone has an “energy” that shines out from them about 8 feet.  This is the reason you can walk into a room and see strangers and already “feel” how they make you “feel” without ever saying a word to them.  Ever notice how you are attracted to some people while others might turn you off without ever talking to them?  That is because they are shining an energy of how they feel and you are feeling this energy from them.

I truly believe she is correct about this energy and how it shines from you everyday.  What is your energy saying about you?

I want you to think about this.  When you call people and discuss your Network Marketing business opportunity….what is your energy as you talk to them over the phone (because people can feel how you feel even over the phone).  Are you giving an energy of passion, excitement, confidence?  Or, one of desperation, worry, need, insecurity…are you uncomfortable?

Remember this, when you sit with someone or meet someone in person…they see you, more than hear you.  This is important to remember, they are watching you (how do you feel about what your talking about, do you look at them in their eyes, are you confident).

The content you are talking about is really secondary…they need to feel your passion and excitement and this will shine on them and get them excited and feel a need to connect with you and want to be apart of what you are doing.

Here are 4 tips to help with building your energy to overcome social anxiety:

1.  Before ever talking to someone – SMILE!  Smiling is powerful, it’s contagious, it’s beautiful!

2. Find the things about yourself and your business that you feel most excited about and share them.  What got you SO excited about your business?

3.  People only join people that provide “Value” to them.  What is Your Value?  This is something that is really key and as you discover your value, this will create energy!

4. Are you having fun?  No one wants to work more.  People want to have fun while growing themselves into a better person and making money doing it.  Create an environment of fun, collaboration, brainstorming…this creates an AMAZING energy that gives people a sense of worth and contribution!

What is Your Energy?  Become aware and when you need a pickup…look up and smile!  Life is amazing!!  Live it!

4 Simple Tips to Overcome Social Anxiety as an Entrepreneur

What’s up everybody?  I wanted to shoot a quick video today talking about: What Is Your Energy? Do you find yourself attracting love, happiness, fun and abundance then other days, you’re attracting desperation, unhappiness, worry, concern, gossip and negative?

What’s the difference there?

So I want to tell you a quick story. So I was flying from Dallas, Texas to Orange County in California and I go to sit down in my seat and this lady stands up to let me in and she says, “I see colors coming off you.”

Now, I will tell you that probably she was smoking something and it must have just hit her. Lol! No, in honesty, it was one of the most insightful, inspiring, and intelligent conversations I’ve had in a long time where she talked about everyone has an energy and it goes out about eight feet.

This energy makes people feel how you’re feeling. Have you ever noticed that you’ve walked into a room and somebody makes you feel a certain way? You haven’t even spoken to them. Just their body language, their energy, what they’re putting out there, you instantly feel and you feel either connected or disconnected from this person and typically if they’re having fun and they’re excited, that’s typically an attractive trait or energy being put out. But if you notice people that are not happy and they’re not having fun, they seem to gather together….like attracts like.

So if you’ve ever questioned in your life – why am I not feeling the way that I want to be feeling and doing the things that I want to be doing?

Are you surrounded by people that are inspiring you or expiring you? Are you being surrounding by love, excitement, empowerment, and hope or others that constantly tell you why you should not being doing what you do, or want to gossip about others.  Trying to bring you down to their level of comfort.

So, I want to talk in reference to your business, your network marketing business. When you’re making phone calls to people or you’re going to meet people in person, just remember this:

60% of all communication is non-verbal, meaning your gestures, the way you sit, your pitch, your tone, your facial expressions, all of these things are non-verbal. That accounts for 60 percent of communication!  That means people watch more than they listen!

Do you ever find when you go and sit down with somebody, you already feel that they’re uncomfortable? Don’t you immediately feel disconnected?  I’ve realized that people look more than they listen. The content is really secondary but they look at you. They’re watching you.

How do you feel about your business?

Are you passionate?

Are you excited?

Are you confident or are you in desperation?

Are you worried?

Are you concerned?

Are you uncertain?

Because that’s immediately how you make them feel and they start to feel that way because that’s the way they’re feeling. That’s that energy they’re getting from you.  Emotions are contagious and they spread like wild fire – positive and negative.


Edward T. Hall talks about the “four levels of distance”. Intimate is zero to 18 inches while personal space is 18 inches to 4 feet. Then you’ve got your social which is about 4 feet to 10 feet and you’ve got your public which is 10 feet plus.


So even the way you’re sitting – and the distance from a person connects you with that person and talks a lot about how they’re starting to feel and that energy that you’re giving them.

So I wanted to just give you four things to really warm up your energy. This will help you overcome social anxiety in any situation.

1. Smile

Smile! Smile and look at the other person in their eyes! Smiles are contagious. It’s happy! It’s beautiful! People want to be around people that are happy, confident and smiling.

2. Passion

What are you passionate about?  What are you passionate about in your business? What got you started in the business? What’s something that gets you excited? It’s passion. It’s something that you can talk to somebody and they can feel that passion that you’re transferring to them.

3. Value

What is your value? What are you providing for them? What’s valuable to you that they’re seeing and they’re wanting more of? Like good information, good knowledge that helps people – it’s extremely valuable and people want to be around people that add value in their life.

Ask yourself a question. What is your value? Write that down and be able to tell people –  “Here’s valuable assets I love to provide others and why it’s a smart decision to join me and my business.”  People want to be excited that they made the right and valuable decision.

4. Fun

This is so key!  I hear so many people moaning and griping about everything wrong with their business/team/company/comp plan, etc.. – Didn’t you get in the business to have fun along with the hope and dreams of having more in your life? So when you’re talking to people about your business, are you having fun?

Have you built a community, an organization, a team having fun learning and growing together? Are people having fun or are people working? Nobody wants to go and work another job. They want to go experience fun, empowerment, excitement, and growth. They want to be around people that are having fun, that are happy, that are prosperous, that are going places.

So make sure that you take time to be present and ask, “Am I getting down into the rut of just living my life or am I excited every day about the opportunity of what I’m going to build today?”

That’s a major thing I will talk in another video about. It is people always look at the obligation of an opportunity. How much commitment is it going to take me? How much time is it going to take me? Oh my gosh, this is going to be so hard! While others are looking at the opportunity to grow, to be better, to be bigger, to evolve, to live the life that I’ve wanted, to not sit every day concerned, my family concerned and stressed out about finances.

It’s not about the obligation. Look at the opportunity that you’ve been given and really take that and run with it.

Your energy is everything. Really be aware of it. Be present to your feelings. Start to notice how people reacting to you. Stop blaming others for the way they treat you and react to you.  Start looking internally and asking what energy you are presenting to others?

Are you getting people that are excited, smiling, and happy around you or are you attracting those people that are gossipy, concerned, stressed out and they want to talk to somebody else about it and you’re there? That must be the energy that you’re putting off.
