5 Tips On Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive

negative to positive

There are many people who are fighting an internal war. They desperately long to live in a positive state of mind, but their subconscious tells them the exact opposite. But there are ways to turn that negative state into a positive.

Here are 5 tips on turning a negative mindset into a positive.

Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive Tip #1: Turn It Into A Question

Whenever that negative thought arises, turn it into a question.

Here is an example… The negative thought says “I don’t know anything about blockchain technology. I can’t write about it.”

Turn it into a question, it goes like this “Where can I do research to better understand blockchain technology so I can write a high quality article?”

By using this technique, you are affirming your abilities instead of focusing on your inabilities.

Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive Tip #2: Call The Foul Ball Before It Hits The Bat

What I mean here is to recognize the negative thought immediately before it has time to snowball. Realize it is just a negative thought and has no power whatsoever.

Use #1 and turn that thought into a positive.

As you practice this, you will find the negative thoughts getting “bored” with you and moving elsewhere where they can gain more power.

Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive Tip #3: Meditate

meditate

I have found that with many people, negative thoughts come in waves. When you notice the “high tide” of negativeness, I suggest you take some time to practice meditation.

Find a nice quiet place and just empty your brain by focusing it on one single object…

  • A tree,
  • cloud,
  • ocean,
  • etc…

Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive Tip #4: Focus On The Present

Negative thinking normally comes from 1 of 2 places:

  1. The past – dwelling on past failures, guilt, and things told to you by people.
  2. The future – worrying about could happen to ourselves, our family or other humans.

So the easiest way to take the past and future out of play is to just simply focus on the present.

Does this mean you forget about the past and not consider the future?

Absolutely not but you cannot allow them to be the focus. Learn from the past and try to predict the future but do not let those control you… Live in the present.

Turning A Negative Mindset Into A Positive Tip #5: Surround Yourself With Positive People

If you are always around negative people… Those people who it seems nothing is good enough… You will tend to start being negative.

No matter how positive you are, you will not change them; they will change you.

So pick out the people who have a positive mindset 99.9% of the time and hang out with them. You will find yourself being more positive.

Conclusion

The most important thing I can tell you today is believe… Believe in yourself and you will defeat negativity.

Every one of these tips work… I know because I use them myself.

5 Sales Strategies That Can Take Your Small Business To The Top

sales strategies

Each and every one had different strategies and they were all champions…

  • Garry Kasparov
  • Bobby Fischer
  • Fabiano Caruana
  • Boris Spassky
  • and many others

I wonder how many reading this post are aware of these people. They were all champions in the game of chess. And as I said, each used different strategies.

Well, I can equate the world of tournament chess with the world of business. Both use strategies, and these strategies can change in mid game if they need to.

Today, I am going to talk about sales strategies. You see many of these masters in chess simply “grabbed” another chess master’s strategy and made some “tweeks” to make it their own strategy.

So here are 5 sales strategies that you can “tweek” or use just the way they are to take your small business to the top.

Sales Strategies #1: Start With The Problems Your Product Or Service Will Solve

The first thing a prospect normally wants to know is, what can it do for me; what problem or problems will it solve?

You should have a good idea through pre-qualification what problems the prospect has. Now show them immediately how your goods can solve the issues.

So many salespeople lead off with the prices, discounts , etc., and the prospect usually could care less unless they know how it can help them.

Sales Strategies #2: Make Sure Your Pitch Is To Or Towards The Decision Maker

It is always best that you have the primary decision maker involved in the presentation. But, in some circumstances, that decision maker sends in a proxy.

It is in your best interest to know all you can about the decision maker so you can gear your pitch/presentation toward their personality and needs.

Sales Strategies #3: Dive Into New Target Markets

You surely determined your base target market when you opened for business. But now to create more sales, expanding or finding new target markets can be a great strategy.

Let’s say your product is geared toward 20-40 year old women… Let’s go with the pink razor as an example. Okay, now take that pink razor and make it blue and you are now targeting the men of that age.

Just use your creativeness and you will find other target markets for the same or similar product you are already selling.

Sales Strategies #4: Ask Questions And Listen

I am a firm believer in this sales strategy.

Before you start presenting, make up a list of questions you will ask the prospect. It is amazing if you listen closely, the prospect, by answering the questions, will give you everything you need to make the sale.

Sales Strategies #5: Tell True Stories

Everyone loves stories!

And when you can tell a true story about how you began your entrepreneur journey and how that particular product came to be, many prospects will feel a desire to buy. Or tell a story of how one of your customers was so happy when the product she bought survived a fall from a 2 story window.

I remember an old friend telling me about the time he was selling replacement windows. During one part of the script, he was to hit the demo window with his fist (not too hard) to show the glass strength. The problem was, he had played semi-professional football and worked out regularly. That day, he hit the window just a little too hard and it shattered.

Being honest, he told the people he had been working out that morning and what he did on the weekends. The prospects laughed and bought a house full of windows.

Stories work!

Conclusion

More than anything, just be yourself and you will sell. If you have a product or service that solves problems and is fairly priced, and you follow a basic sales strategy, you will sell. You may have to make slight changes depending on your circumstances, but I know these strategies work.

I mentioned taking your small business to the top by using these strategies. I wrote a book about my climb… You can get a copy of To The Top here.

5 Tips On Making Outstanding YouTube Videos

video production

As entrepreneurs, our goals should all be somewhat similar…

  • Build our brand
  • Help people
  • Get leads
  • Get sales

and…

Make A Change In The World

I assume you have similar goals and if you follow this blog, you know that I preach content is quite important in reaching those goals.

But when we say content, that does not just mean blog posts… Content can include social media posts, comments and input on sites like Reddit and forums and, something I have found to be great, YouTube videos.

You are getting a special treat today. Why do I say that? Because I have been through a lot of trial and error in YouTube video creation as well as getting viewers. And one of the est ways to learn is from someone who has failed to success.

And I owe much of my learning to various tribe members and friends who showed me some important tips on making successful YouTube videos.

So here are 5 tips on making outstanding YouTube videos.

Outstanding YouTube Videos Tip #1: Sound Is More Important Than Video Quality

You are probably reading this and saying B.S. like I did at first. But it is true.

Most video watchers will forgive the quality of the video but if they are battling to hear what you or someone else is saying, they will quickly move on to a video they can hear.

I suggest a decent microphone be used and after you record the video, use an audio editor to remove background noise.

Now don’t get me wrong, your video quality should be good too for the best response.

Outstanding YouTube Videos Tip #2: Create Consistent Content

Once YouTube viewers discover your outstanding videos, they will expect more. Don’t let them down!

Try to be as consistent as possible and keep delivering videos. Plus, the more you have, the better your odds of being found in search results.

Outstanding YouTube Videos Tip #3: A Script Is Not A Great Idea

no script

While you may want to put a basic “cheat sheet” in front of you but out of camera range, I do not recommend a script. The reason for this is, you will be tempted to just start reading and YouTube viewers will consider it boring.

Viewers want to hear you being you. Even if you don’t pronounce a word right or happen to cough or sneeze midway, just excuse yourself and keep going.

Knowing you are a real person just like them, viewers will be drawn to hear you out because you know something they don’t, and you are willing to teach them.

Just be natural and you will do fine.

Outstanding YouTube Videos Tip #4: Ask Yourself, “Would I Share This If I Didn’t Make It?

This is a lesson I learned after making several low viewed videos. I actually found that I could go back to older videos and “doctor” them by adding some graphics or other items to make them more appealing.

The best advice I can give you is, after recording your video, use empathy. Put yourself in the viewer’s eyes and ask yourself, “Would I share this?”

Because ultimately, the way to get lots of viewers comes from people hitting the share button and sending it to friends and family on various social media outlets or embedding it in their blog.

Outstanding YouTube Videos Tip #5: Use A Great Keyword Or Term In Your Title And Good Tags

This may take some testing and trying, but if you consider what your video is about and start typing keywords and phrases into Google and see how many people ave searched that keyword, you can find a good one to place within your Title.

Secondly, make sure and add tags that relate. If you are trying to get local visitors, tag your town, county and/or State. Use more popular keywords and phrases as tags and you may even want to tag popular YouTube channels that are related to your content.

Conclusion

These are just a few tips to get you started. I will give more in the future. But to give you a good idea, here are 2 of my most viewed videos on YouTube:

Yep, the last one is quite new and has already hit over 10,000 views and adding more every day.

Now isn’t it time to create a video?

But before you go, I believe you can gain more benefits from the book I wrote and published some time back. Get your copy of To The Top here.

7 Games That Can Help You With Decision Making

Every day, we face decisions. These may be huge decisions or minuscule ones. But no matter what, the decision must be made.

Sometimes a simple decision like “What should we eat,” or “Where should we vacation” can be quandarious (yes, I just invented a new word).

Decision making is a primary aspect of entrepreneurship. It is imperative that you are willing to make decisions, able to make them quickly, and you are accurate with those decisions the biggest percentage of the time.

A great way to develop and help you with decision making is by playing games. In today’s post, I am going to share 7 games to help you with decision making.

#1: Tic-Tac-Toe

It is a simple game but forces you to make decisions to follow your strategy.

If you want to really add to the process, 20 push ups for the person who loses each game.

#2: Settlers Of Catan

Many love this board game as it resembles the world of entrepreneurs and the decisions that must be made. You can play this multi player board game with friends and family and discover just how good you are at making decisions.

#3: Shooting Games

shooting games

When I say shooting games, I am talking X-Box, Playstation or even on your computer.

There are many games that can make you make quick decisions on what, or who to shoot.

  • Star Wars: Battlefront
  • Call of Duty
  • Splinter Cell
  • etc…

#4: SimCity

This is a game you can download on your computer or smartphone.

In SimCity, you build a city and you must make decisions on running that city. Decisions such as:

  • zoning,
  • changing tax rates,
  • adding infrastructure for services,
  • and responding to disasters.

#5: Virtonomics

You can play this game online for free against thousands of other players.

It is real world decision making at its best and is completely geared around entrepreneurs.

Go check out Virtonomics here.

#6: Chess

The game of Kings, Queens, Knights, Bishops, Rooks and Pawns.

If you have never played chess, it is one of the greatest decision making games there is.

I highly suggest finding an opponent and playing at least 1 game of chess weekly.

#7: Yahtzee

With some luck involved, you have to make decisions based upon odds and your “gut” instinct.

This is a fun game that can be learned easily, and you can usually pick up a Yahtzee game at many retail outlets.

Conclusion

The last advantage I see in playing games to help you with decision making is, you can spend some quality time with loved ones.

So get the family together and pull out an age old decision making game… Monopoly anyone?

Hey, have you read my book yet?

You can get your copy of To The Top here, or buy the audio version here.

Glad you stopped by and feel free to share any games you play to help with decision making.

6 Strategies On Making Tremendous Presentations

presenting

I believe anyone preparing to give a presentation has some fears. They may hide them well but, the fear of people snoring, or the fear of rolling eyes or several attendees standing and leaving all at once.

We want to give a “Wow” presentation… A tremendous display of our expertise that makes the audience talk about it for days, weeks, even months afterwards.

It isn’t easy, but it can be done!

Here are 6 strategies on making tremendous presentations.

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #1: Let Your Passion Shine

First and foremost, if you are giving a presentation on something you have no passion for, can I ask, why?

Personally, if I were asked to give a presentation on something I had no passion for, I would turn it down.

So, with that said, I assume you have a passion for whatever you are presenting. There is no need to cover that passion. The audience will connect with you if you allow that passion to flow out like a flood…

Let it!

If you lead with the reason you have so much passion for this particular subject, I would wager that at least 80% of the audience will feel that passion and it will become a part of them. Their excitement, as long as you stick with your full blown passionate presentation will “rub off” on the other 20%.

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #2: When Using Slides, Follow This Simple Rule

Never put more than 6 to 7 words on any one slide.

A slide should act as a headline. It should grab the attention and your talk should be the content under that headline.

The slide is just the attention grabber.

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #3: Get To The Point At The Start

You always want to give the ending at the beginning of a presentation. If you give the point of the whole presentation immediately, your audience won’t be “mind-wandering” wondering what the point is.

The rest of the presentation is to simply justify and “proof” the point.

A good example is a recent presentation I gave in Las Vegas about Nasgo, a blockchain company I co-founded.

I started with the point… Nasgo will be the Trillion dollar blockchain. The rest of the presentation just explained how we will do that and how the numbers show it will happen.

By the way, that presentation was a hit… Check it out.

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #4: Know Your Audience

It is a MUST that you know who and what type of people you are speaking to. Now, you may have some other “types” mixed in, but you should know the primary audience.

Let’s say your presentation is on a new network marketing company that is geared toward 20-30 year old men.

So you step out on stage and start talking about knitting or sewing… Boring!

How about the last Superbowl or beer and barbecue??? Now we’re getting somewhere.

If you become one with your audience, they will become one with you.

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #5: Make Eye Contact And Smile Often

This seems like an easy feat, but many speakers fail.

Sure, you have note cards to keep on track, but don’t keep staring at them. Look at your audience and smile.

Here is another hint… Pick 3 people in the very back. One on the right, one in the middle and one on the left.

Take turns looking and smiling at each of these people and it will seem to the audience like you are looking directly at each one of them.

It works!

Making Tremendous Presentations Strategy #6: You Have 10 Seconds

10 seconds

You have 10 seconds to get the audiences attention… Let me give you 2 examples:

  1. Presenter #1: Hi everyone. My name is Bob Long and I am going to talk about jet propulsion for motorcycles. Let’s get started.
  2. Presenter #2: What are all of you staring at? Is my fly open? (As he looks down, and the audience breaks out in laughter.) Oh, I guess we won’t talk about my fly tonight but about being able to fly on motorcycles.

So which presenter has the audience’s attention?

Presenter #2 will now be able to give his name and everyone will remember it and the rest of what he has to say.

What was presenter #1’s name again? I fell asleep.

Conclusion

Now notice, nowhere in this post did I say have no fear because it is natural to have fear before any presentation. But if you follow these tips, you can overcome that fear.

And do know that whatever you are presenting, you can do it better motivated. So click here to get a free training course, 7 Days To Unstoppable Motivation.

4 Tips On Getting And Using Customer Data Without Losing Trust

using customer data

To be quite honest, I don’t remember who it was or when it was said, but I remember an acquaintance mentioning that he was concerned with Google knowing so much information about him. A few sentences later, that same person was talking about some of the customer data he gets in his business.

Shouldn’t his customers also be concerned? Or do they know he is getting that data?

How do they say that??? What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

A key to wise business is knowing your customer. We learn about customers through useful data and this helps us market, add products and make changes to benefit them. But in getting and using that data, we must use a system that will keep customer trust.

Here are 4 tips on getting and using customer data without losing trust.

Getting And Using Customer Data Without Losing Trust #1: Do Not Share That Data With Anyone Without The Customers Permission

This is an absolute!

I would say that even if you do have permission, you should still be quite choosy on the data you share.

Let’s say that you have a network marketing business and you have collected data on leads. You are approached by an online dating site to purchase data on single people withing your data.

Here is where things get “sticky.”

You sell the list of single people and the dating site contacts one woman who is now single. She has been for 2 months because her husband was killed in military actions. She is far from dating and immediately asks where the site got her data…

Not only did you lose a potential recruit or customer, you could be sued.

Getting And Using Customer Data Without Losing Trust #2: Be Boldly Honest

Most consumers know businesses are collecting data on them… It’s just how business works. What bothers consumers is when a business tries to hide the fact they are collecting data.

Honesty always wins!

I suggest a bold disclaimer being displayed on your website, in your store or anywhere you may be collecting consumer data.

It could read something like: Hey (Business Name) Customers! We appreciate your business and we want to always ensure your shopping and buying experience is delightful. To do this, we do collect data to help us understand you, your needs and wants, and also how we can improve. We do not share that data and keep it tightly secure because we know if that data slips from us, you will slip from us too and that would make us cry. But do let us know if data collection is not comfortable for you and we will allow you to stay our anonymous shopper. Thanks.

Now tell me, how could any customer get angry with that message. I bet even the Grinch would smile.

Getting And Using Customer Data Without Losing Trust #3: Reward Customers For Giving Useful Data

reward

You will be tremendously surprised what data consumers will give you if there is a reward at the other end. This is evident by survey systems like Nielsen.

There you go!

How about a customer survey offering a percent or dollar off coupon as a reward for survey completion.

Believe me, it works and you will love the amount of great data you can get by doing this.

Getting And Using Customer Data Without Losing Trust #4: Give Customers Access To All The Data You Collect On Them

I know that just reading the last tip I have on this list is actually throwing your head into a tailspin. How can you do this without opening a Pandora’s Box?

Well, we have made this much easier then you may think.

The answer is…. (Drum Roll)…

Blockchain

By putting your business and customer data on blockchain, you can allow your customer a “key” to see their data entry while keeping other data hidden. It will also show how that data has been used.

Completely transparent and your customers will gain even more trust.

This is exactly why my partner Steve and I founded Nasgo. We are helping small businesses get blockchain capable to help with data, funding and decentralization.

You can get your system running on a sidechain off the Nasgo blockchain. Just visit Nasgo here and also look Nasgo up on Facebook and YouTube.

Conclusion

While many consumers have become wary of how businesses are using their data, using these tips, you can turn that wariness into a trust like no other.

Do you have any questions or feedback?

Just post all below.

Thank you and we will see you on the climb…
