5 Tips To Awaken Your Creativity

Every man, woman and child is creative. But some don’t realize it because they are too busy comparing themselves to another human being.

Rose says, “Why can’t I paint like Mary paints?” Mary thinks, “I wish I could write like Frank writes.” Frank ponders, “If only I could grow a beautiful garden like Rose does.”

But Ted is different. Ted loves Rose, Mary and Frank but Ted has no desire to have their talents because he adores the creative talent he was blessed with. And he regularly invites his 3 friends over to enjoy his talent. Ted is a creative cook that can make the most delicious meals. And Ted knows he can grow that talent more, so he is taking courses from a renowned chef.

Ted is passionate about cooking.

Do you see the point?

Ted sees his creativity but the other 3 only see the creativity in others.

Let’s awaken your creativity! I am going to give you 5 tips to do just that!

Awaken Your Creativity #1: Write Down 5 To 8 Questions About A Problem

Entrepreneurs are problem solvers. But like any profession, we can get moments of “blank” thoughts. It seems creativity went to sleep. But you can “jar” your creativity out of its slumber.

Take a problem and write down at least 5 questions… Example, you have creatures damaging your garden at night, and you know other people are having a similar issue. If you could solve this issue, it would be a hit with many people. So here are some questions that could help:

  • Why are animals going into the garden?
  • What plants are they destroying?
  • What types of animals are doing this?
  • Where are the animals coming from?
  • Are they eating the plants or just digging them up?
  • Etc…

By answering these questions, your creativity can come alive with a solution that could be the next $million$ product.

Awaken Your Creativity #2: Network With Other Creatives

I just love being around other creative people…

  • artists
  • musicians
  • writers
  • website developers
  • etc…

Much like Ted the cook in the example at the top of this post who doesn’t feel he has to have the same creativity as his friends, Ted loves to have them around because it enlivens his creativity.

Awaken Your Creativity #3: Make Combinations

Try combining 2 or more items to see what you can create. It has been done by the best…

  • Shoes combined with air = Nike
  • Cellphone combined with internet = Smartphones

Do you see?

Awaken Your Creativity #4: Ask Children

Try having a conversation with a 2, 3 or 4 year old child.

If that doesn’t awaken your creativity, I am worried about you.

Awaken Your Creativity #5: Check It When You Are Sleepy

Research has shown that creativity in many people manifests itself when we are nearly ready to put our heads on the pillow. Exhaustion causes our minds to get distracted. While distractions can be bad when we are trying to get tasks done, a distracted mind can be a creative mind.

I suggest you keep a notepad near you and when your mind is in a tired state, jot down those crazy ideas that are entering it.

Conclusion

And, the most important tip I am going to give you is to get clear of negative influences. Negativity is a creativity killer.

5 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump

Entrepreneurs and hurdlers in track and field have a lot in common. They must get a quick and clean start, keep focused and jump each hurdle with precision.

While there are various “hurdles” in entrepreneurship, marketing is one where many small business owners trip up on.

Why?

There can be a wide variety of reasons.

I believe the why’s will be answered when we look at each marketing hurdle entrepreneurs must jump.

I am going to tell you the 5 biggest marketing hurdles and also ways you can leap over them like a pro.

#1 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump: What Marketing Avenue To Focus On

Herein lies one of the biggest issues for entrepreneurs. Some would call it “throwing a bunch of mud against the wall and seeing what sticks.”

Many entrepreneurs jump to and fro…

  • PPC
  • Social media (with many various ones)
  • Content marketing
  • Mobile marketing
  • and others

And while I agree it is not wise to rely on just one avenue, entrepreneurs should put their primary focus on one marketing strategy and perfect it.

You need to look at where your target market is. Go to them on their ground instead of trying to draw them to your territory. Master that marketing avenue and then work on the next strategy.

#2 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump: Not Having Enough Quality Leads

According to several surveys and polls of small business owners, not having enough quality leads tops their list as the biggest marketing problem.

Now, notice I put quality here. Because there are many places an entrepreneur can buy leads from. But the problem is, these leads have been sold to 20 small business owners before you. Some will even be angry and this leads to bad word-of-mouth.

First, I suggest that if you have a website/blog, have an easily noticed opt in box where readers can fill out their contact information and “bam,” you have a lead.

My other suggestion is to find leads to purchase that have been qualified and are ready for you to contact them.

Recognizing this top hurdle, working with my team, we developed the ultimate lead program. These leads are pre-qualified and not with some automated system. They are telephone interviewed and are expecting your presentation. We even have a place where you can listen to the live calls.

Just click here to try out the HOT leads Rocket Recruiting Leads will provide.

#3 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump: A Lack Of Resources

This is a challenge nearly all entrepreneurs face…

  • Time
  • Personnel
  • Money

But this need not be a challenge if you take a few hours (I know, time, but it is time well spent) and develop a marketing plan that will work around the resources you are short of.

With time, learn to delegate and also find automated systems that require the least time consumption.

And personnel; you may want to consider outsourcing some of this to freelancers or contract a virtual assistant.

Money… Oh yes, money! There are many methods to get funding, you just need to get creative. Maybe an ICO is the answer!

#4 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump: Differentiating From The Competition

Consumers are swamped with marketing. They are getting apathetic and assuming that new business is the same as that old business, just a different name.

Here is the challenge!

Being different… Offering better results than what they had before…

The key things you need to focus on is:

  • Building a strong reputation. Be present, offer top notch customer service, help them solve problems even if there is no sale for you.
  • Show how you and your business is different than the competition.
  • Narrow down your niche to a sub-category. As an example, maybe you sell auto parts… Cool, but you get the best Toyota parts in your area.

#5 Marketing Hurdles Entrepreneurs Must Jump: Customer Repetition

While you should always be trying to get new customers, I believe it is more important to keep the customers you have already attained.

It is just too easy to take customers for granted. But remember, there are plenty of other businesses trying to “steal” them away.

You need to be loyal to the ones who are loyal to you…

  • Rewards programs
  • Special repeat customer coupons
  • Birthday cards
  • Etc…

One that many business owners use is simple text messaging.

When you show customers you know them, like them and value their business, they will keep coming back.

Conclusion

Guess what, I know you are the star!

You can win the gold medal in the entrepreneur high hurdles!

Don’t let them trip you up… Gracefully jump them and keep focused on taking your business…

8 Tips On Outsourcing Small Business Needs

To manage a small business, there are some tasks that you may need to outsource. As a matter of fact, I would say, you should outsource them.

Some of the common things that are outsourced for small business needs are:

  • Marketing
  • Taxes
  • Legal work
  • Internet technology
  • Content
  • Data entry
  • SEO (Search Engine Optimization)
  • Etc…

Have you ever outsourced any of these or other tasks? How was your experience?

For those of you who have never outsourced or had a bad experience, I want to provide you with 8 tips on outsourcing small business needs.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #1: Ensure You Are On The Same Page

It is important that you and the contractor are on the same page and in agreement on things like:

  • payment terms
  • timeline
  • non-disclosure provisions
  • updates (when and how)
  • etc…

I suggest everything be in writing so there are no surprises.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #2: Have A Trial Period

It is always wise to have a trial period before committing to a long term outsourcing. This will help both you and the contractor know if this is right and you can work together.

If explained correctly, a contractor should have no issue with a trial run.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #3: Measure The Cost Effectiveness

Just as an example, let’s say you need to post 3 Facebook and 4 Twitter posts weekly. You find a contractor who is willing to do all for $70.

But you also have a young intern who you are paying $10 an hour for and his work load is actually light.

Does it make sense to hire that contractor?

The intern can probably handle this task and overall, it shouldn’t take him more than 3 hours total. Hmmm, $70 or $30.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #4: Make Sure Your Keep Ownership

One area that many small business owners outsource is building their website. And this has been a huge issue for some.

The designer is gone, moved on to greener pastures and it is time to update your website, but you find out that designer listed themselves as owner and registrar.

The cost involved in getting that straightened out can be astronomical.

Don’t allow it to happen from the start. Make sure it is understood that you will be listed as the owner and your name will also be added as registrar.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #5: Don’t Give 1 Freelancer All The Jobs

They call it “putting your eggs in one basket.”

What happens if that person has an accident, leaves unexpectedly or anything of the sort? If you have several contractors, you can manage if one goes AWOL.

Cover all the bases.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #6: Be Engaged

You do not want to attempt to “micro manage” the contractor. But it is good if you are engaged and check in with them from time to time… See if they have any questions or need any assistance. While the answer will usually be no, they will appreciate you offering.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #7: Get Employees On Board

If you have employees, I suggest you discuss the idea of outsourcing with them. You do not want them thinking their neck is on the chopping block. Tell them it is so you don’t have to add more to their workload and ask their opinions about it.

By giving them some ownership of this decision, you will find they will be more helpful to the contractor and they will support the decision.

Outsourcing Small Business Needs Tip #8: Look At Reviews

Don’t fall for the temptation to hire a contractor because their rates are lower.

Before contracting anyone to outsource, I suggest you check reviews. Look to see if there are an abnormal amount of negative reviews. Also look at the positives.

It may be worth paying a little more to get a good freelance agent.

Conclusion

Outsourcing small business needs is wise, but only if done so correctly.

Over the years, I have hired several contractors and for the biggest part, they have done a great job.

If you follow these tips, I know you will have success contracting some of your business needs.

Now I know many of you business leaders need good leads to follow up with. I have just the way. We developed Rocket Recruiting Leads that are telephone interviewed and just waiting for you to contact them with your opportunity. Just click here and order your hot leads today.

5 Tips To Find Your Purpose In Life

There has to be a reason as to why each one of us were put on this Earth. And a part of me says it wasn’t just to work, eat and sleep…

There has to be… There is more to all of this.

What am I here for? What is my purpose?

Maybe you won’t be the person who develops a cure for cancer or the next energy that can be renewed. But believe me when I say, you have a purpose and even small purposes can add up to huge changes in the world.

Just one little thing you do or say can help or harm another person a continent away. Don’t believe that???

I suggest you study the theory of 6 Degrees of Separation. This theory states that each human on Earth is only 6 steps from another human. Someone you know who knows another who knows still another that is related to another who works with another is married to that person you are 6 steps from.

And you may be in Cleveland, Ohio with that person living in Istanbul, Turkey.

We are all instruments in a bigger plan

While I have no intention of getting “religious” here, I do have to say that I cannot hold with the premise this all just happened and we are all just weird occurrences.

Call it God, Allah, or any other deity, we all have a purpose. And I believe it is our responsibility to find that purpose and live the purpose. All for the good of humanity as a whole.

Now, maybe you are a Christian, a Buddhist, Islamic or even an Atheist and you have your own thought pattern based on your beliefs.

That’s cool!

But I believe we all will agree there is a purpose for us all. Otherwise, what’s it all about?

So we need to find our purpose… Here are 5 tips to do so.

Find Your Purpose In Life Tip #1: Start Doing

It is called experimentation…

  • write a book,
  • paint a picture,
  • go skydiving,
  • climb Everest.

The way to find your purpose is with action. Start doing until you discover your passion.

Find Your Purpose In Life Tip #2: Ask And Answer, “What Would Be A Perfect World According To Me?”

Take a few moments and write the answer to this question down. Now what can you do to help the world get to that point? It doesn’t have to be something huge, just one step towards that perfection you dream of.

If you are doing something you know will bring the world to a higher level of perfection, just think how you will be moved to keep going…

Find Your Purpose In Life Tip #3: Get To Know The People Around You On A Deeper Level

How well do you know your partner, your co-workers or your social friends?

  • How many children do they have?
  • Where did they grow up?
  • How much education do they have?
  • What is their spouse’s first name?
  • Etc…

As we discover more about the people around us, we will see their purpose. And when we see their purpose, it can help us see our purpose.

Find Your Purpose In Life Tip #4: Look To Your Past

So many of your past experiences, both struggles and successes, define who we are. But sometimes we do not review these enough to see our purpose.

Take a look back and the experiences you have had can tell you what your life purpose is.

Find Your Purpose In Life Tip #5: Read

Reading is a great way to form dreams in your mind. And when we dream, we often find our purpose in the midst of those dreams.

Just as your reading this blog post, I recommend you devout a certain amount of daily time to reading. Read books, magazines and blogs.

As a matter of fact, I wrote a book that tells how my life’s purpose finally came to me. I believe that book can help you too!

Just click here to get a copy of To The Top. Or, if you would rather, you can get the audio version here.

Conclusion

Once you know your life purpose, you will find that the tasks you set your mind to will flow smoothly. This is because you know that they are geared toward your life purpose.

I hope this helped you today.

Please give a shout out if it did and also, ask any questions below.

Thanks and have a great day!

5 Ways To Win From Failures

Failures are inevitable. As a matter of fact, I would have to say that if a person doesn’t have failures, they are doing nothing. And the only way to find success is to fail your way there.

Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.” Winston Churchill

Think about it… Growing up, how did you learn?

  • You tried to walk and failed, bumping your knees on the carpet.
  • And when that first bike ride became a skinned knee failure.
  • Or how about that failed shot in basketball that lost the game?

So we fail at times… Yes, everyone fails at times.

But failure can be a win.

I know it can because I have learned to win from failures. You can too! Here are 5 ways failures can take you to the top.

Failure will never overtake me if my determination to succeed is strong enough.” Og Mandino

Win From Failures #1: Understand The Odds

Let’s just say that you are going to the horse races. Sure, that horse has a cool name; let’s say it is Eric’s Treasure. Oh and how I have this feeling I should bet on him. But he is going at 78 to 1 odds. And the favored horse is Dianne’s DooDoo at 5 to 3 odds.

You know the odds… Go ahead and bet on Eric’s Treasure… Let’s put $50 to win on him… But, I’m going to cover that bet with $100 to win, $100 to place and $100 to show on Dianne’s DooDoo.

It works the same in business. The odds say that 1 out of every 10 businesses fail. So why not start 10 businesses?

Do you see my point?

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising every time we fail.” Confucius

Win From Failures #2: Go Ahead And Feel The Emotions

Yea, failure sucks! It can make us angry, sad, depressed, etc… So don’t try to sugar-coat the emotions you feel after a failure. Go ahead and feel them. Deal with them. Yell, pout, scream or cry… And then get over it.

It’s like when you skinned your knee on that first bike ride. You cried a bit and then got back on.

It’s just like that!

I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” Thomas A. Edison

Win From Failures #3: Learn And Make Changes

Just as Thomas Edison said in the quote above, you just found a way that doesn’t work. So learn from it and make the necessary changes and try again.

Just think… This is how most cures for diseases have been discovered… One way didn’t work so the scientists tried another way.

Most people have attained their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure.” Napoleon Hill

Win From Failures #4: Don’t Be Obsessed With The Failure

It will do you no good to ruminate over the failure. You failed and you learned, why keep playing it in your head like a horror movie?

I know that sometimes that statement is easier said than done, so I suggest you paint positive signs within the failure. Find everything positive that can come as a result of the failure. And don’t be afraid to laugh about the failure.

Remember what Napoleon Hill said in the quote above and just get over it.

I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” Michael Jordan

Win From Failures #5: Watch Some Professional Sport’s Game

I quoted Michael Jordan above and he was one of the most successful basketball players of all time.

But, I remember a game he played in and Jordan had 2 free throws that would win the game. He failed!

And the great Jordan followed all what I said in the other tips above… He practiced night and day on free throws.

So you failed… Watch a professional sport game…

  • Baseball
  • Soccer
  • Football
  • Basketball
  • Etc…

I guarantee you will see some failures. But most pros know how to get on with it and learn from that failure.

And guess what?

You are a pro too!

Conclusion

Did this post help you? I hope so!
