Eric Tippetts and John Lee Dumas Interview on EOFire.com

KAAABOOOM!

I am so fired up! After all, just a short time ago, I met with the King of entrepreneur podcasts, John Lee Dumas. You see, JLD and his wife Kate founded and host Entrepreneurs On Fire and I was invited.

Stoked to be interviewed by JLD who has interviewed many other top names like

  • Tony Robbins
  • Tim Ferriss
  • Seth Godin
  • and many others

As a matter of fact, I was interview 1969.

It was a great day as I was also interviewed on KUTV and KSL television too.

I guess this means that I AM an entrepreneur on fire. LOL!

What The Interviews Were About

Over the years, I have been a part of some amazing things, but I believe I have come upon the most amazing thing yet.

You know, I have my piece in developing The Expense Tracker that helps entrepreneurs manage their budget. It has been a hit!

And the Rocket Recruiting App that has helped many network marketers build massive downlines.

I speak at events and write blog posts helping other entrepeneurs. And I wrote and published the book, To The Top.

My brain is always spinning…

Next!!!

And then… Blockchain was developed and we became aware of Bitcoin, Ethereum and other cryptocurrencies.

I said to myself, “Eric, this blockchain can be used in so many other ways.” I researched and learned all I could about this technological marvel called blockchain. I then started networking with like-minded people and discovered through my travels to Hong Kong and Singapore that there are others who are thinking the way I am.

Blockchain Will Explode!

I know there are some who feel that cryptocurrencies will do the opposite. They say it will implode and I will not debate that issue. But what I do believe is blockchain is here to stay.

Blockchain technology can be helpful for governments, infrastructure, corporations, small businesses and even families. Because the blockchain in its ways and means is perfect. No one can alter a completed blockchain.

Just think, every single record can be verified if it was entered into the blockchain. And the person verifying or any other person cannot change one dot or tittle of that record. If it says Eric Tippetts paid $12 and owes $4… It is fact! I cannot say I paid $12.48 because the blockchain has it written essentially in granite.

So it just makes sense that this system can be put to use in everyday life in all forms.

That Is What JLD From Fire Nation Interviewed Me About

I am a co-founder of Nasgo. Nasgo is designed to bring blockchain technology to every walk of life.

With Dapps, which are blockchain apps, anyone, anywhere can use a blockchain system for everything from managing finances to selling goods and even keeping track of the kid’s allowances and the tasks they have done at home.

And just think, Nasgo can provide cloud server technology with the blockchain that can allow you to sell in places where your IPO was originally blocked. Maybe that farmer in Burma would be interested in the water filter you have… With Nasgo and blockchain technology, he would not have even known about your filter but now he can know about it AND purchase it.

Without going further, you should go listen to the interview.

Head Over To Fire Nation Now!

I know you will enjoy this podcast. So go to Fire Nation’s Podcast 1969 with yours truly and John Lee Dumas here.

6 Content Distribution Techniques To Reach Readers Who Matter

So you just wrote and published a valuable piece of content, but when you look at those who are viewing it, you discover through your audience is not anywhere near your target market. It’s no wonder you are not getting any clicks in your call to action.

In most cases, the reason behind this is the content is not being distributed or shared to the right channels.

You need to use content distribution techniques to reach readers who matter. Yes, content distribution strategies to reach your target market.

Here are 6 techniques you should consider using…

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #1: Build Relationships With Influencers

Get to know influencers in your particular niche or a similar one. Share their content and reach out with your high quality content. Very often, if you are creating well written and valuable content, these influencers will be extremely happy to share it with their readers.

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #2: Turn One Or More Pieces Into An eBook

This is a great way to reach a whole different set of readers. Taking your content and making an eBook will entice the people in your target market who are avid readers to grab that eBook and read it completely.

So many blog post readers are just scanners. They just scan the headers and bullet points and move on. But when people take the time to download an eBook, they normally will read it from start to finish.

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #3: Join Linkedin Groups And Google+ Communities

Get in there and find the Linkedin groups and Google+ communities that have the people within your target market.

When you share your content in these groups and communities, don’t just share the link, write a short synopsis so members will be more enticed to read more.

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #4: Build Your List

Do you have a subscription system on your blog? Are you building a list of loyal followers?

Email distribution is a top way to keep people reading your posts. You should have it set up so that each person on the list gets an email notification each time you publish new content.

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #5: Create An Infographic

Having an infographic designed that relates directly with your content will draw even more eyes. The plus with this is not only are you getting higher SEO in the content itself, but the infographic will take you higher in image search too.

And believe me, a great infographic will entice people to click through and read the article.

Content Distribution Techniques Tip #6: Keep A Handy List Of Posts On Your Person

This is a tip I learned from a writer and author I know. He has a blog where he helps new freelance writers and he told me that he keeps a “little black book” of blog posts he has written that he carries with him everywhere. He also always puts the link with it so that when he is in a deep conversation anywhere he goes, he can refer people to the link.

He tells me that in today’s mobile world, most people will open it right then and there and read it. And he has gained freelance clients with this technique too.

Conclusion

No matter how great of material you publish, if you are not distributing it properly, it is just another sheet of internet paper.

Thousands of blog posts are published daily. So you need to step out to those who will read and share your content.

And speaking of sharing, don’t just share once and call it quits. Learn to share your older content every once in awhile on your social channels.

I hope this helps you and if it was valuable for you please share it with others.

7 Reasons Not To DIY Your Website

It is tempting, I know.

As entrepreneurs, we want to cut costs where we can. Maybe you have voices around telling you it is easy to build a website. So you assume you can build your website to save.

Let me first tell you as Simon Cowell has told people that thought they could sing on American Idol – “Stick with your talents.”

Unless you have taken courses in website design and best SEO practices, you probably do not want to DIY your website.

By the way, DIY stands for do it yourself.

Here are 7 reasons you should have a professional build your website.

Reason #1 To Not DIY Your Website: You Want To Be Unique

It is like the woman who runs out and buys what seems to be an amazing dress that is on sale. “I will be the talk at work,” she tells her husband.

The next day, the woman comes home from work in tears… Her husband asked why. “6 of my co-workers had the same dress,” she says sobbing.

Sure, you can use those cool drag and drop website builders and create a neat website. But when you start “plunging” around the internet, you are going to discover many other websites with the same or similar design.

A professional website designer can create a customized website that you will not see elsewhere.

It will be unique!

Reason #2 To Not DIY Your Website: Time Consumption

You may think you are saving money, but are you really? After all, time is money and if you are spending your time trying to build a website, you are taking time away from other important tasks to grow your business.

Reason #3 To Not DIY Your Website: SEO

It is one thing to build a website and a whole other to create a website that is SEO friendly. You want your website to quickly climb the ranks in search engines and website designers should be up-to-date on SEO tactics.

Search engine optimization is always changing, but there are some basics that must be considered when creating a website…

  • Basic keywords for the website
  • Meta description
  • 301 redirects
  • Backlinking
  • 404 errors
  • and much more

Improper SEO on your website could cost you many visitors.

Reason #4 To Not DIY Your Website: Technical Support

So you built a cool website and you do seem to be getting visitors. Suddenly one of your friends calls and says, “Have you looked at your website lately?” You hit the bookmark and a huge Russian flag pops up and it says underneath: I Hacked You Yankee.

You can’t get in to your site and you want to scream. Now it will probably cost you big money to get some support.

If you have a professional create your website, most agree to provide technical support as long as your website is running.

This possibility alone is enough to not DIY your website.

Reason #5 To Not DIY Your Website: Mobile Friendly

A huge percentage of website visitors come from mobile devices. If you build your own website, odds are it will only look good on desk and laptops.

Professional website designers know how to ensure your website looks fabulous no matter where the visitor is coming from.

Reason #6 To Not DIY Your Website: Atrocious Ads

Many of the website builders DIY’ers use are free or low cost.

Why?

Because there is fine print that says using their builder means they can “sprinkle” ads on your website.

Web visitors are likely to run the other way when they see these terrible ads popping up on your business website.

Reason #7 To Not DIY Your Website: You Probably Do Not Have The Proper Tools

Do you know a website designer?

Just ask him/her how many various tools they use to build a website? Maybe they will tell you how much they have invested in tools. You will be amazed and it is highly unlikely you have even a low percentage of those tools.

To spend the money for all the tools you would need to build a website properly, you will discover it is less expensive just to contract a designer.

Conclusion

Believe me, your website is not something you want to make cuts with. Unless you are a website designer building a website for your own business, I suggest all other entrepreneurs invest in the services of a professional.

And after your website is created, I suggest you pick up the How To Create A Crazy Profitable Website checklist. Just go to my homepage here, scroll down and click the button.

I hope this helps you. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comment area below.

6 Tips To Protect Your Brand

There are various people in the world who will use unscrupulous means to fill their bank accounts.

Yes it is sad, but the days are gone when we could leave doors unlocked, cars running and our businesses were safe for the biggest part from those who would lie, cheat and steal.

Sure, those things have always happened but in these days, the crooks have become more sophisticated. So we must protect ourselves.

Just as you have an alarm on your home and car; and as you may carry pepper spray or a stun gun on your person, you must also go to all extents to protect your business and your brand.

Today, I am going to give you 6 tips to protect your brand.

If, at the end of this post you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will get you an answer.

Protect Your Brand Tip #1: Trademark Your Brand Name

The first and most important step is to trademark your brand name. You will want to check that someone hasn’t already done so.

You can check and register your brand at: https://www.uspto.gov/

Protect Your Brand Tip #2: Be Somewhat Secret

You want to keep quiet about pending patents and intellectual developments. It should all be on a “need to know” basis. If you do have to share this information, make sure you have them sign a non-disclosure agreement.

Protect Your Brand Tip #3: Protect Your Business Name Too

If your business name is different from the brand name, I suggest you also register your business name as a brand name.

Sure there are added costs, but this way you are fully protected.

Protect Your Brand Tip #4: Use Google Alerts

It is nearly impossible to search the internet trying to see if anyone is using your brand name and still have time to run your business.

I suggest you set up Google Alerts which will notify you anytime your brand or business name is mentioned.

If someone is using your name, contact your attorney to find the best course of action.

Normally, you will have to send a Cease and Desist letter. If they continue, you have every right to take them to court.

Protect Your Brand Tip #5: Consider International

Maybe you do not have an immediate goal of expanding internationally, but you should consider possible countries where you may end up in time. There is nothing wrong with getting your brand registered in other countries. Not only will it help you expand in the future, it will keep others from those countries from using your brand name.

You will want to research the regulations in each country.

This may be best handled by your attorney.

Protect Your Brand Tip #6: Copyright All Written Material

The law states that any written material that has the copyright emblem and date is protected by the law.

You do not have to pay to copyright. Some do which does add more protection, but with all material you write and publish, make sure you have protected it with a copyright.

Conclusion

By following these tips, you can protect your brand and your business. Don’t allow others to destroy what you have built.

Are You Leading The Followers Or Following The Leader?

Do Both For Success!

For the biggest part, human beings are bred to be followers. Statistics say that in a group of 12 people, only 1 is a natural leader.

Notice that I said natural.

I firmly believe leadership can be taught and developed. And on the other side of the coin, natural leaders should be taught how to follow.

Success requires a mixture of leading and following

In today’s post, I am going to touch on both. And I will start with following. Because to be a great leader, you have to be a good follower.

Here are 5 tips to be a good follower…

“If I had to reduce the responsibilities of a good follower to a single rule, it would be to speak truth to power.” Warren Bennis

Be A Good Follower Tip #1: Be Aware

You need to be aware of both the leader and your peers. Knowing when to help and when to stay out of the way will help you when you are in a leadership roll.

Be A Good Follower Tip #2: Follow Through With Your Obligations

When you commit to something, make sure you do it well and on time.

Be A Good Follower Tip #3: Keep A Positive Attitude

No matter if the leader or your peers are being negative, as a good follower, carrying a positive and enthusiastic attitude will help others around you do the same.

Be A Good Follower Tip #4: If You Are Unsure, Don’t Assume, Ask!

Even if the leader or someone else rolls their eyes when you ask a question, don’t let that stop you from asking questions.

No question is stupid!

The wise follower always asks if he/she has hesitation in the task the leader gave them.

Be A Good Follower Tip #5: Always Support Your Leader

If a peer or someone else is speaking ill of your leader, it is only right that you support that leader; even if you agree the leader made a bad decision.

The best way to support is to tell the person they should approach the leader personally instead of talking behind their back.

Now that you have the good follower tips, here are 5 tips to be a great leader.

“A man who wants to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd.” Max Lucado

Be A Great Leader Tip #1: Show Before Telling

What I mean is, be the example.

If you are telling someone to turn lights off when not in a room, but they look at your office and see the lights on and you are talking to them, you are not setting the example.

If you tell your follower that dressing professionally leads to success as you fix your tie, you are showing that person you dress professionally and they will be apt to mimic you.

Be A Great Leader Tip #2: Be Completely Honest

There may be temptations to hide something from your followers or to even lie about an issue.

Don’t!

It is much better to be transparent. Sooner or later they will discover the truth and you will lose their trust.

Great leaders are excellent communicators. And a key to communication is listening. Listen to your followers. That doesn’t mean you have to agree with them, but listen and then explain your side of the equation.

Be A Great Leader Tip #4: Know And Admit Your Weaknesses

Great leaders are surrounded by great followers. Those followers can pick up the slack where you are weak, But you must know where you are weak and be willing to admit and ask for the follower’s help.

Be A Great Leader Tip #5: Make The Vision Clear To Your Followers

By letting your followers in on the vision, they can also dream and imagine too. They will feel a sense of ownership and their creativity will come to life.

“The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.” Ronald Reagan

5 Tips For Selling In This Era

Some people would say salesmanship is dead…

I strongly disagree!

It is how the seller approaches salesmanship that determines the outcome. For the biggest part, high pressure sales tactics are gone. Consumers have become wise to the tricks of Glengarry Glen Ross, Gordon Gekko or Dreyfus and DeVito in Tin Men.

And while those are all great movies (Gekko was the character in Wall Street played by Michael Douglas), please don’t use them to learn selling techniques.

I will help you…

Here are 5 tips for selling in this era.

#1 Tip For Selling In This Era: Know Your Target Market

You probably will not sell footballs to 35 year old women, nor will you sell bras to 20 year old men.

You need to determine your target market and base all your marketing efforts towards that market.

I suggest narrowing down that market as far as possible. You may think that you will lose potential customers by doing so, but statistics tell us different.

You will still get the occasional young adult male who purchases that bra for his girlfriend or wife and you will get the middle age woman buying a football for their son, nephew or other young male.

#2 Tip For Selling In This Era: Offer A Wide Range Of Payment Options

There are so many ways to pay for goods and services in this era, but not every business accepts various payment methods.

I have actually went into stores and picked out some items only to be told at the cash register that they only take cash.

Very few people carry cash in this era.

You will get more sales by offering a huge range of payment methods:

  • Credit or debit cards
  • Paypal, Neteller, Skrill and others
  • Checks
  • Gift cards
  • Money orders
  • Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and others
  • Etc…

#3 Tip For Selling In This Era: Always Be Prepared To Pitch Value And Return On Investment (ROI)

It is far more important than the price of the item…

Consumers are drawn more to the value of the product or service. What does your item do that the competition doesn’t?

And Return On Investment is a key factor.

Most consumers have developed a wise pattern of purchasing goods or services that will pay for themselves over a period of time.

I suggest explaining the value and ROI before sharing the price.

#4 Tip For Selling In This Era: Educate With Quality Content

It is true… Content IS King… Content rules!

In the old days, entrepreneurs and sales people were hesitant of educating potential customers because of the thought pattern they would do it themselves.

But the realization finally set in that if they were going to DIY, they would no matter what.

Fact is, when you educate consumers through content, high quality content, you are showing you are the expert. People want the best and will come to you.

On your website, blog and social media, share quality, educational content and the sales will follow.

#5 Tip For Selling In This Era: Listen

I once was in a discussion with partners and friends about some of the sales techniques we saw when we were children…

Be it a

  • Fuller brush man
  • Siding or window salesperson
  • Or the doorbell ringing with a young magazine salesperson

There was always one common denominator, they just would not shut up for even 1 second.

They would talk, talk, and talk some more. Our parents would try to say something but could not even get a word in. Usually, the person would just sign to buy and then cancel by phone within minutes of the salesperson leaving the house.

If they only realized that what Mom or Dad was going to say would just reinforce the sale closing. But because they couldn’t say what they wanted to, they made the decision to buy and cancel.

Listen and 9 times out of 10, the prospect will tell you how to close him or her.

And speaking of closing, here is a neat line that will get you thinking:

If you were arrested for being a closer, would there be enough evidence to convict you?

Conclusion

You will probably hear salespeople from days past try to teach you their ways. There is nothing wrong with listening and learning, but do keep in mind that many of the strategies that worked then will not work now.

Use these 5 tips and you will see better sales.

Let me ask you, do you have others who sell for you? Maybe you own a home based business?

Recruiting is a key!!!

We developed an app that can make recruiting into your business much easier. And after all, recruiting IS selling too!

I know Rocket Recruiting will help you. The ROI is phenomenal. So pop over and click Buy Now and see how your business will take off. Just click here.
