6 Tips To Ensure You Can Retire Comfortably

retire comfortably

Is it something you ever think about?

Retirement!

I have found that many entrepreneurs tend to avoid that subject like the plague. But, it should not be avoided because we will not be able to go forever.

Will we?

In today’s post, I am going to give you 6 tips to ensure you can retire comfortably. I hope they help you.

Retire Comfortably Tip #1: IRA

Known as an Individual Retirement Account, investing a percentage of your income is a wise idea to prepare for retiring.

There are 2 types of IRA’s you will want to consider:

  1. Traditional – This IRA accepts money before it has been taxed. But you can be taxed upon withdrawal.
  2. Roth – The contributions to this IRA come after your money has been taxed but when you withdraw, it will not be taxed.

Retire Comfortably Tip #2: Keep Your Business And Your Personal Finances Separate

Having your business and personal finances separated will help you not only with your taxes, but will also help you identify the best uses and strategies for your money for retirement planning.

Retire Comfortably Tip #3: Automatic Withdrawals

One of the first things we learn as entrepreneurs is to pay ourselves first. And out of that pay, you should set up an automatic withdrawal to your retirement account.

If it is out-of-sight, it is out-of-mind.

Retire Comfortably Tip #4: Make A Budget

make a budget

Your budget should list expenses that are absolutes and expenses that are, shall we say, flexible.

As a business owner, the money can be volatile so, when you have a slow month, you can cut out a few of the flexible expenses.

A budget is necessary to ensure you save for a comfortable retirement.

We developed a handy tool you can use in your budgeting process. Called the Expense Tracker, you can take advantage of that tool by clicking here.

Retire Comfortably Tip #5: Build An Investment Portfolio

Building a portfolio of stocks is a good idea. I recommend stocks that pay dividends.

You may have people tell you to sell during downturns, but I also suggest you “ride out” those downturns. Holding them is usually your best move as they often rebound and do better than your original investment.

Another area that many people do not consider is cryptocurrency. The blockchain has been roaring for a few years now and as a co-founder of Nasgo, we have witnessed many small businesses tokenizing to fund their business. You can often invest in these businesses by purchasing their tokens and as the business grows, so will the value of the token.

You can learn more about Nasgo at their blog here.

Retire Comfortably Tip #6: Education

Just as you are reading this blog, I suggest seeking out any, and all resources that can educate you on ways to save and invest in your future retirement plans.

You may consider hiring a financial adviser and by all means, read books, take courses and attend financial seminars to educate yourself.

Conclusion

One of the most important tips I can give you in today’s post is do not put all your eggs in the same basket. If your depending on that 1 IRA or 1 stock, you are apt to have problems. What happens if it “tanks?”

By having investments and savings in various areas, if 1 has issues, you have back-up.

Do you have any questions? Go ahead and post them below and I will answer them if I am able.

Thank you for popping in and I hope you found value. If you did, please share it with others.

5 Natural Laws For Success

natural laws of success

Look around you… There are rules and laws that are natural…

  • gravity
  • atom structure
  • light
  • death
  • etc…

As humans, we must adapt to these natural rules because they are and always will be.

But natural laws and rules can be broken down further. Today, we will look at the natural laws of success. Here are 5 that you should heed.

Before I get into these, I would highly recommend a book authored by Deepak Chopra: The Seven Spiritual Laws Of Success.

Natural Laws For Success #1: Budgeting Laws

The safe way to double your money is to fold it over once and put it in your pocket.” Frank Hubbard

It is just natural that if we spend more than we receive, we will go broke.

Many people are failing in this natural law daily as they pull out those credit cards and spend insanely. This is why money and budget advisers are doing so well.

Several years ago, I developed an application that will help you keep track of money in and money out. It has also been a great help for figuring taxes at the year’s end.

Learn more about The Expense Tracker here.

Natural Laws For Success #2: Anode And Cathode Laws

Positive thinking will let you do everything better than negative thinking will.” Zig Ziglar

When we consider a battery, there is the anode (negative) and the cathode (positive).

The same is true with humans… But we can choose to be anode or cathode and we also have the ability to switch or substitute negative for positive or vice versa.

Keep this in mind… Your brain only has the ability to have one thought at a time. It can be either positive or negative and you do have the ability to substitute one for the other.

Natural Laws For Success #3: Change

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.” Lao Tzu

Change is a natural phenomenon. You can choose to adapt to change or battle change. In all my years, I have found that people who battle change lose the war.

Adapt to, and embrace change and success will be in your sights.

Natural Laws For Success #4: Giving

Giving is the master key to success, in all applications of human life.” Bryan McGill

giving

Life and success is not about “hoarding.”

Nature has a rule that states, when we give, we receive. And I have found that the reception can be much higher that what we gave.

Some think that this means material possessions, which is true. But also giving of yourself…

  • your ears,
  • your knowledge,
  • and even just a smile,

can be just what a person need at the given time.

Natural Laws For Success #5: Cause And Effect

Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

The fact is: when something good happens… when something bad happens… something caused that to happen.

We can usually find that cause if we search.

So your struggling to find the path to success. Well, look around you at those people you know who have found success. What was the cause of their success? Mimic it.

I wrote a book on how success finally reached a pinnacle in my life. Maybe it can help you see causes of success and use them to attain success too.

Get my book To The Top by clicking here.

Conclusion

By obeying the laws, success will be in your grasp. But breaking the laws will bring about terrible consequences.

I hope this helps you and if you have any questions or comments, just post them below.

Thank you and have a fantastic day!

4 Strategies To Turn Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Into Successful Realities

entrepreneurial dreams

I would be willing to say that 85 – 90% of people dream of starting their own business. But maybe 10% at most actually follow through with that dream.

Why?

Because so many people are taught to believe that dreams are just that… Dreams. They are told that their dreams can never be reality.

But as people like yours truly begin showing people that dreams can be reality, more and more people are discarding the negatives that their family and friends tell them about dreams not being real.

I know this because of the many people who approached after reading my book To The Top and stated that they were going to follow thru with their entrepreneurial dreams thanks to the encouragement they gained after reading the book.

I do hope you will read the book but to get you started, here are 4 strategies to turn your entrepreneurial dreams into successful realities.

Turn Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Into Successful Realities Strategy #1: Find Some Team Players

Our chief want in life, is someone who shall make us do what we can. This is the service of a friend. With him, we are easily great.” Ralph Waldo Emerson

Okay, you have an idea… Or several. But it is much easier to get a start up going with more than 1 person.

Get out and network. Find others who have similar visions and are strong where you are weak.

Now, I am not necessarily saying you need to have business partners. It could be freelancers, contractors, family members, friends… Nearly anyone who is willing to follow the vision you have.

Turn Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Into Successful Realities Strategy #2: What Makes Your Product Or Service Unique?

There is always room at the top.” Daniel Webster

This is a question I strongly suggest you answer before you start the business. Because it is the answer to that question which will generate sales and investors.

One thing to remember is, you can have a similar product or service as another company, but you must find a way to explain how yours is different from the competitor.

Turn Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Into Successful Realities Strategy #3: You Will Have To Take Risks

The only strategy that is guaranteed to fail is not taking risks.” Mark Zuckerberg

take risks

Attaining your dreams means crawling out from under the “comfort rock” you have been hiding under.

There are risks you will have to take. But they should be calculated risks. Weigh the odds to see if the risk has a good chance of “winning” if you do the work.

Turn Your Entrepreneurial Dreams Into Successful Realities Strategy #4: Create, Build And Promote

The way to get started is to quit talking and begin doing.” Walt Disney

The fact is, this should be the top priorities if you truly want your entrepreneurial dream to become a successful reality.

It won’t be perfect, but by getting it “out there,” you will be able to realize your dream and you can work at perfecting it as time moves forward.

Conclusion

My philosophy of life is that if we make up our mind what we are going to make of our lives, then work hard toward that goal. We never lose, somehow we win out.” Ronald Reagan

Turning your entrepreneurial dreams into successful realities is not hard if you have passion, persistence and a willingness to do what needs to be done.

8 Ways To Get More Followers

get more followers

One of the best ways to strengthen your brand is by getting followers on your social media pages. And don’t assume that buying followers from Fiverr or some other location will help. You need true followers that will engage in the form of comments and likes. The majority of “purchased” followers will only be names on a list and may not be real people at all.

There are better ways to get more followers on your social sites. Here are 8.

Get More Followers #1: Know Them

The first key in getting more followers is to know the people you want following you. You should attempt to know:

  • Demographics such as gender, age and income levels.
  • Their basic behaviors… What they like and dislike.
  • Buying behaviors.

The more you know about them, the better suited you are to post interesting info and speak in “their language.”

Get More Followers #2: Be Informative

When considering how brands post on social media, I would say that upwards of 80% are self promoting the biggest percentage of the time. The rest give their best at informing their readers about news or changes in the industry.

Which ones do you think draw the biggest following?

The informers win that with flying colors.

So your best bet on social media is to be an informer the biggest percentage of the time. And simply add a call to action at the end of your information to visit your website or store.

Get More Followers #3: Build Relationships With Influencers

You want to find influencers in your industry/niche and start reaching out to build a relationship with them…

  • comment on their content
  • follow their pages
  • share their content

As these influencers see your loyalty, they will often start doing the same for you. And when their followers see that you are favored, they will often start following you too.

It actually comes down to: if you want to be followed, you must follow.

Get More Followers #4: Make Sure Your Profile Is Complete And Professional

The majority of people will review your social profile before they follow you. You want it to be complete.

  • Have a bio that tells your story
  • Fill in your education and work experience
  • Have a great profile image as well as a cover image that relates to your brand

Get More Followers #5: Be Consistent

When I say consistency, I do not mean you MUST post the same day, same time every time. But to gain followers, you should post regularly. The person who posts one day and quits for 2 weeks not only won’t get followers, he/she may lose followers they do have.

Get More Followers #6: Use Some Humor

humor

A hearty laugh does us all good at times.

Do not be afraid of throwing a clean joke or something funny that happened to you into a post every once in awhile.

It shows people that you are normal like they are and you will be amazed as to the amount of people who will follow you just because you made them giggle.

Get More Followers #7: Have Follow Links

By putting “follow me” links on your blog/website and in your email signature, you can gain a lot of followers who may not had even discovered you on the social media sites.

Get More Followers #8: Have Links To Your Other Social Profiles

Generally, people are attached to more than 1 social media site. So it makes good sense that on each of your profiles, you share a link to your other social profiles so followers at one location will also follow you in another.

Conclusion

If you follow these tips, you will soon have many followers engaged in your social pages.

And by the way, if you are not yet following me… Do so in the links below:

Just let me know you followed because you saw this post.

6 Ways To Advertise On The Cheap

advertise on the cheap

When first starting and even after managing your small business for quite some time, you want to find ways to advertise that fits within your budget. And in a lot of cases, the budget requires cheap. But advertising is an all-important facet of your business and we all know that cheap is often equated to garbage. I mean, wouldn’t you rather pay $100 to get 4 customers than pay $10 to get 0 customers?

But there are ways to advertise on the cheap effectively. Let’s look at 6 ways to do so.

Advertise On The Cheap #1: Blog

It works for me and it can work for you. By blogging in your niche area and sharing your knowledge and expertise, Your readers will want more.

It is as simple as creating consistent and high quality blog articles and adding one call to action somewhere within that post.

Speaking of that, sign up here to get the free training course, 7 Days To Profitability.

Advertise On The Cheap #2: Create YouTube Videos

Often overlooked, videos are a great way to educate and advertise. You can create a video that gives the viewer tips, or just show them a behind the scenes view of your business.

You then lead the viewer to your website and even ask them to subscribe to keep up with your video channel.

I have used this method with great success.

Advertise On The Cheap #3: Join Social Groups

In Facebook, Linkedin and Google+, there are groups and communities you can join within your area of expertise. Using a “non-sales” approach, you can share your knowledge in these groups which can then lead the reader to your website, business social page or some other page that will guide them further through your sales funnel.

It costs nothing to request entrance into these groups. Just be sure to read the group regulations and follow the protocol.

See these too:

Advertise On The Cheap #4: Create A Customer Referral Program

In this entrepreneur’s opinion, the best advertising there is comes from word of mouth. When one friend or family member tells another about the fantastic deal they received, the odds of a new customer are tremendous.

So it just makes sense to propagate word of mouth advertising!

Create a referral program where those who bring in new customers receive percentage off or even something for free.

Advertise On The Cheap #5: Facebook Ads

facebook

While not free, if managed correctly, Facebook advertising can be cost effective and generate a healthy ROI (Return On Investment).

I suggest testing ads and seeing the response. You can do so for $10-$20. What is great about Facebook advertising is the ability to put your ad in front of the demographics you know are the primary consumers of your product or service.

Advertise On The Cheap #6: Partner Up With Complimentary Small Businesses

No matter your business, there is probably other businesses that compliment yours.

  • Laundromat – Dry cleaner
  • Shoe store – Sock maker
  • Nutrition business – Gym
  • Etc…

So it just makes sense that you approach other complimentary entrepreneurs about advertising in each others business and referring customers to each other.

Conclusion

Use your creative side and you can discover many ways to make your business and brand known without spending a lot of money.

Make sure and keep coming back to my blog as I will “touch” on this subject more in the future.

Customer Retention: 5 Ways To Keep Customers Forever

customer retention

Think about that one store, restaurant or other business that you frequent. The one that you know you have a loyalty to and there is no chance you will go elsewhere.

Why?

They have you as a customer forever, but can you explain why?

  • Prices?
  • Friendliness?
  • A relative?
  • Customer service?

Whatever it is, that business is practicing good customer retention methods. Are you doing the same with your business?

Let me tell you, the cost is higher to get new customers than it is to retain the ones you have. Yes, you should be actively marketing for new customers but you also need to put as much into customer retention.

In this post, I am going to share 5 ways to keep customers forever. Put these tips into practice and you will find your customer retention rates go up.

Customer Retention #1: Personally Connect

Surely you have a website, Facebook or other social media pages. Make sure every customer that purchases knows where they can find your sites and tell them to like or subscribe to know of new products, services, sales and other special deals.

Now once they are on any of these sites, take time occasionally to just reach out to your customers personally. “Hey John and Mary, how is everything. I just wanted to see if (product) you purchased is working good for your needs. Plus, I just wanted to say hi and tell you we appreciate you. Have a great day and drop in and say hey anytime.”

It is amazing how such a simple message can mean so much to customers.

Customer Retention #2: A Gift

a gift

This is a customer retention strategy that John Deere has used for many years and they get double benefit from it.

A customer who has bought a tractor, combine, lawn mower or some other item is handed 1 or more green hats with the John Deere logo on it. They are well made hats and farmers love them.

Sure, John Deere is putting out a lot of money for these hats, but they are getting huge smiles from customers who will use nothing but a Deere, and they are getting advertising from this gift as people see men, women and children around town with the John Deere logo on their head.

Maybe hats are too costly for you but consider pens with your logo, coffee mugs or calendars. Just use your creativity and notice the look of joy in your customer’s faces.

See These posts too:

Customer Retention #3: V.I.P.

Developing a V.I.P. program for customers is an excellent way to keep them shopping and spending more at your place of business.

Many businesses have special cards that get “punched” when you spend a certain amount and once they have so many “punches” they will get something free or a high percentage off.

Many businesses who use this system have discovered more money spent from existing customers just to get “punches.”

Customer Retention #4: Take A Stand

Okay, I need to tread lightly with this tip. Because when you take a stand on certain issues, you may drive some potential customers to a competitor who stands on an “opposite leg.”

Just keep that in mind!

But let’s say you put a big sign up and say that for every $100 spent, you will give $4 toward building the local homeless shelter the town drastically needs. Or pick another issue that your customer base seems to respond too.

Just showing that you stand in favor with certain moves to better humanity will have customers standing with you and supporting your stand.

Customer Retention #5: Ensure Employees Are Happy And Trained

I would have to say that a large percentage of customers move away from a business because of employee incompetence or worse, mistreatment.

The first step in making sure your employees are treating customers right is to ensure you are treating the employee right.

This isn’t easy but it is possible.

A good way is one on one meetings to just talk. Let the employees know you do care about them and try to meet their needs if possible. The wise business owner tries to use 90% praise and 10% critique. And before you critique an employee, give some type of praise first.

Make sure you train every employee in proper customer management and follow up with the consistently to make sure they are following what was taught them.

Personally, I believe this is where many of the large corporate businesses have been failing. If employees treat customers as friends instead of “just another face,” you will find an increase in customer retention.

Conclusion

This is just a start!

I do plan on covering more on this subject in the future. It is extremely important because customer retention can “make or break” any business.

Do you have any questions? Just post them below and I will get you an answer.

Before I go, I want to share with you a way that can help you better track customers and their habits. A better way to also manage your business.
