11 Prosperity Tips For Entrepreneurs – To The Top Tuesday

I have noticed that this world basically has 2 types of people. There are those who ask “Why Me?,” and the others who say “Why Not Me!”.

Prosperity is at your fingertips no matter your background, gender, race or location as long as you are within that 2nd group.

In this edition of To The Top Tuesday, I am going to share 11 prosperity tips that has helped entrepreneurs from all walks of life achieve success.

You can join that prosperous list of entrepreneurs. Just look within and the results will show on the outside.

Follow these prosperity tips in you entrepreneur goals and life choices and watch amazing things happen.

Prosperity Tip #1: Give From What You Already Have

This rule of prosperity has been known by humans for years upon years. It is preached from pulpits of nearly every religion because it works.

When you give from what you have, you will receive back much more. So if your gut is telling you to give that $5 bill to a homeless person or you are led to donate to some other good cause, I suggest you listen to your gut and do it.

Prosperity Tip #2: Focus On Providing Value

If you are focused on just making money and not providing value, you probably won’t… Make Money!

If you focus your complete attention on providing value, the money will flow into your bank account.

Prosperity Tip #3: Make Murphy’s Law A Myth

I have discovered over the years that when you vocalize either positives or negatives, you make them come true.

Many people repeat Murphy’s Law over and over that they actually make it come true.

I am not going to repeat the law except one part of it: If something can go wrong, do everything you can to make sure it won’t.

Prosperity Tip #4: Stop Worrying

Worry does nothing for you so why do it?

It can be difficult but make an effort to stop worrying about all the material things in life. By doing so, you will attract prosperity.

Prosperity Tip #5: Do Not Take [No] Personal

When a person says no to your offer, 99.8% of the time they are not saying no to you personally. They are saying no for one or more of a variety of other reasons.

When we take no personally, we reflect our assumption and it will effect our attitude when approaching other people.

With the proper attitude toward the [no] answer, prospects will often reconsider the opportunity.

Prosperity Tip #6: Create The Future

I have never “bought in” to Tarot Cards, Horoscopes, Palm Readers, etc… who claim to predict the future for me.

How can they predict my future?

I am an entrepreneur and I am in the process of creating my future.

Prosperity Tip #7: It All Rests On My Health

What do you equate prosperity with?

Many humans say prosperity is equal to wealth… Massive Wealth!

I am going to debate that equation because massive wealth means absolutely nothing if you are not healthy enough to enjoy that wealth.

Prosperity rests on good health first. As a matter of fact, prosperity equals first good health and then massive wealth.

  • Eat healthy
  • Sleep properly
  • Exercise
  • and live healthy

With these priorities, you are prosperous!

Prosperity Tip #8: Over-Deliver

This is another prosperity rule that has always been known, but many businesses neglect to follow it and they soon have a “going out of business sale.”

If you consistently over-deliver to your clients and customers, you will be prosperous!

Prosperity Tip #9: Easy Is Not The Road To Prosperity

While all of the tips I am giving to you seem easy enough, the road to prosperity also requires hard work.

Prosperity does not come from a lottery or slot machine. Prosperity requires persistence and hard work.

If prosperity were easy, I would not have to write this article.

Prosperity Tip #10: Lock Your Thoughts

There are many people who will try to negate your dreams and ideas. You will never completely escape these people but you can put a lock on your positive thought process.

You have the positive power!

No matter the negative a person throws at you, hit Ctrl,Alt,Delete and respond with only positives.

It takes practice but believe me, it works!

Prosperity Tip #11: Be Wise With Your Money

This last tip is quite important.

Prosperity can also be taken from those who are not wise with what they are given.

Learn to control your spending and always invest back into your business.

I also want to help you with this process in another way.

Wise tax management is a key

I developed a tool that will help you manage your money wisely.

What Does Your Entrepreneur Aura Look Like?

Have you ever had a person just come out and tell you there was an amazing glow surrounding you? And after the person says this, you realize that you are having a marvelous day. You are “in the zone.” Everything you say, do or touch seems to just magically flow the way you desire.

Some people call it charisma but I just love the word aura. It is the energy coming from you that fills the complete area surrounding you.

I believe there are auras in positive and negative realms. We all have an aura, and they are either positive or negative. Some people have large auras and other people have small auras.

If you are aware of auras, you can examine the people around you and determine their aura.

But it does seem that humans have a difficult time knowing their own aura. It seems mirrors will not give us that information. But I do believe there are signs what your entrepreneur aura looks like. You do have the ability to know your entrepreneur aura just by understanding more about yourself and how people look at you.

While I cannot determine how other people see your entrepreneur aura, I can give you some tips on building a bright shining, positive aura. And when you notice more people wanting to be near you… to listen to you, you will know that you are showing a bright and positive aura.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Consider Your Mannerisms

Your actions and demeanor during silent moments can tell others a lot about your aura.

If you are nervous and agitated, this will show with such actions as:

  • Leg shaking
  • Nail biting
  • Finger tapping
  • Etc…

Now just think about a person you know who has these mannerisms often. Do you feel comfortable around them? Do you not find your own inner being becoming agitated when you spend time near them?

This is because their nervous and seemingly negative aura is flowing to you.

If you recognize that you have these mannerisms, I suggest you do all you can to stop them.

Try to define what is making you nervous or agitated and deal with it.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Tell Stories

Whether you are speaking to one person or 1,000 people, tell stories.

People love stories and will listen intently to a story if told with excitement.

Just consider the entrepreneurs you respect the most; they tell stories.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Listen To All Opinions

No matter the person, they always have some talent or experience that can be helpful.

If you want to have a bright and positive aura, you learn to not judge anyone. The homeless guy has an opinion as does the Queen of England. And by listening to all opinions and ideas without labeling the person will brighten your aura immensely.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Be Honest

Some people have this thought pattern that to be liked, they should tell people what they want to hear.

I disagree!

While you may gain an immediate following by telling people what they want to hear, if you know that the truth is completely different, your aura will turn gray and may turn black.

Now there are times it is better to just stay silent but if asked, be honest. It may not be popular immediately but in the long run, you will gain respect and your aura will brighten.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Dress For Success

Sure, your aura comes from your inner being, but it can shine better and brighter if you dress sharp.

Why?

Because you feel better about yourself and your confidence will be overwhelming just from wearing sharp attire along with hair, breath and other grooming items.

Your Entrepreneur Aura: Own Your Mistakes

If you really think about it, when a mistake is made in a business, no matter who committed the mistake, it is the entrepreneur’s mistake. It is the person who runs the business who made the mistake.

Now maybe it was an employee or contractor who made the mistake, but since the entrepreneur delegated the task to that person, it is the entrepreneur’s mistake.

The entrepreneur who owns those mistakes is the entrepreneur with a bright aura.

Conclusion

Do you get it?

Do you understand how important your entrepreneur aura is?

I have written before about building a tribe and about networking. These, along with recruiting and selling, will be dependent on your entrepreneur aura.

Your aura can grow brighter if you are motivated. To help you with that, I want to give you a free training course called 7 days To Unstoppable Motivation. Get it here.

I hope this post helped you. Let me know and I want to wish you, your brand, your business all climbs

Those Entrepreneur Struggles Seldom Discussed

Most entrepreneurs are masters at keeping inner struggles hidden in a deep and dark dungeon. Those inner fears will never show.

No matter how strong and independent you are, I do believe you should have a confidant… a mentor that you can share your struggles with.

While we are talking on 2 separate levels of humans who are making life better for all of humanity:

  1. Soldiers
  2. and Entrepreneurs

there is a similar attribute they both must possess:

Masking their fears and struggles

The soldier cannot show fear as he leads his unit into an area known to have a heavy enemy influence.

The entrepreneur cannot hint to his/her tribe that they are worried about the debt they just developed in manufacturing that fantastic idea that will solve a slew of problems.

We know that many soldiers come home suffering from psychological problems, with P.T.S.D. being at the top of the list.

And entrepreneurs… Well, I suggest you read this award winning article entitled The Psychological Price of Entrepreneurship.

I have decided to talk about what many entrepreneurs will shy away from… Our struggles. Do any of these fit? If they do, read it completely because I will give some tips on overcoming those entrepreneur struggles.

Entrepreneur Struggles #1: Maintaining Focus

There are a myriad of things that can take our focus off priorities. This is especially true for the entrepreneur who works at home alone, the solopreneur. The temptation to go to Facebook, Linkedin, Google+ or email multiple times will take your focus off the tasks that bring in the money.

The first step in defeating this is to make a plan of action for each day. Stick to your plan. And I suggest giving yourself a reward for each task completed on time or early. That reward could be a 10 minute social media visit… But make sure and set your alarm.

There is a great app to help you stay focused called Freedom. You can find it here.

Entrepreneur Struggles #2: Using Too Many Methods

This is a monstrous struggle for entrepreneurs. The primary subject is marketing but can also fall into other areas.

In a recent meeting with tribe members, the subject was brought up of creating multiple groups and communities around one service. While I believe it is a great idea my first question was, “who will manage those groups daily?”

You could hear a pin drop because managing social groups is a time consuming task.

I have learned that it is best to test a method and if it works, stay on top of managing that method and you can then add a second method. If you use too many methods without managing them, clients will lose faith in you and you may lose faith in yourself.

Entrepreneur Struggles #3: It Has To Be Perfect

I have found that a high percentage of entrepreneurs are also perfectionists. Perfectionism and entrepreneurship can war against each other. If you are always trying to get something perfect, you will use up your resources without releasing your idea.

Because it will never be perfect!

Wow, that sentence can grind a hole in our esteem, can’t it?

But it is true. You just have to know that perfect is unachievable, so release it already and make amendments and revisions as you find them.

Entrepreneur Struggles #4: Micromanaging

This struggle can destroy an entrepreneur’s tribe. It goes hand-in-hand with the perfectionist struggle. As entrepreneurs, we have our set ways of doing things and when a tribe member or freelance agent does it in their own way, the temptation to “hover” over the top of them is huge.

Micromanaging does not work!

If the temptation comes, you have to just resist it.

  • Is the person getting the work done?
  • Is it timely and completed to specs?
  • Are revenues growing?

Why should you try to “fix a wheel that is not broken?”

If the answer to any of those questions is no, instead of micromanaging, just talk with the person and explain your position. If it keeps sliding backwards, find a different person.

It is that easy.

Entrepreneur Struggles #5: Separating Rational From Irrational

What this essentially comes down to is fantasy dreams versus reality dreams. We may have a great idea, but we must use something that entrepreneurs have an issue with… Critical Thinking!

We have to research and measure costs both in money, time and customer acceptance.

I am completely pro risk taking, but those risks need to be calculated.

Don’t be like the person who bets $100 to win on a long shot racehorse because the horse pooped before the race. That is not a calculated risk.

Conclusion

Now, I know there are many other entrepreneur struggles which I will touch on in coming posts.

They are hard to talk about and accept, but the best way to overcome a struggle is to recognize that struggle. If we don’t see it and discuss it, how can we defeat it?

I truly hope this post helps you realize your struggles.

Before I close out this post, I want to mention another struggle that many entrepreneurs face… Recruiting.

To help entrepreneurs defeat that struggle, I (along with some key tribe members) developed an app that turns recruiting into an enjoyable experience. It takes the stress out by eliminating resistance.

8 Methods To Attract Customers & Recruits

As an entrepreneur, your goal is to gain customers and possibly recruits. You can go about it the old-fashioned way… High pressure. Or you can use the best way, attraction. You can try to “jam” your product, service or opportunity down the person’s throat or you can use a system that attracts people to you and your products.

Which way will you choose?

I hope you say attraction because the days of high pressure sales were gone with those pesky aluminum siding salesmen.

Who coined “attraction marketing?”

Mike Dillard began using the term attraction marketing primarily for network marketers. The basic principles of attraction marketing have been used for years. Some age old attraction marketing were:

  • Billboards
  • Ads at the drive-in movies
  • Magazine ads
  • Etc…

The idea is to entice customers to call you instead of you calling on them. But many network marketers were taught to knock on doors, windows, call on the phone, etc… Using any type of attraction marketing in the early days of MLM were considered taboo.

But times have changed

It is less stressful and actually more time efficient to use the attract method to draw in customers and recruits. So I am going to share 8 methods to do just that.

#1: Attract Your Target Customers Or Target Recruits

If you are using marketing methods that are trying to reach every person there is, odds are you are not reaching any people. It is wiser to identify the best targets and use your marketing efforts to attract them.

#2: Attract By Using A Unique And Crazy Marketing Ploy

What if your business sold a weight loss plan and you had some freelancers dress as a fat person and skinny person that looked alike? They hand out fliers with other before and after images and offer a small discount for signing up with the flier.

There are many crazy things you could do; it just takes creativity.

#3: Attract Them To A Sizzle Line

Using a “sizzle line” is a wise approach.

A sizzle line is a phone number with a pre-recorded message similar to an elevator pitch. It essentially will help automate your business. You obviously will not have the time to answer every call that comes in and you can set the sizzle line up to guide your customers or recruits through a recorded process.

Here is a great article explaining sizzle lines in better detail.

#4: FREE Attracts

If used properly, giving something away for free can attract some great long-term customers or recruits.

On this website, I give out an 8 point checklist on Creating A Crazy Profitable Website. That free checklist has so much value that people who have received it have purchased other products.

Just make sure your free item has great value and your prospects will be attracted to your other items.

#5: Become The Expert

Customers and recruits are attracted to experts. They want to know that you have the answer to their problems.

It is important that you learn everything you can about your business; about your niche; about your products or services.

#6: Attract With A Mobile App

Mobile is the primary method people are using to surf the internet. Using your creativity, develop an app that is attractive, fun and exciting. Maybe the person can spin a slot reel to win a percentage off. Maybe you reward them for taking a picture of them using your product.

Just be creative and you will be amazed as to how many customers or recruits you can attract with an app.

#7: Attract By Posting In Social Media

Sharing not only your blog posts, but also other articles from industry professionals can attract customers and recruits to you on social media.

I suggest becoming a member of:

  • Facebook Groups
  • Google+ Communities
  • Twitter
  • Linkedin Groups
  • Pinterest
  • Etc…

#8: Attract By Volunteering

When people know that you are helping with programs such as:

  • Habitat For Humanity
  • Wounded Warriors
  • Clothing For Orphans
  • or even local volunteer projects

The attraction to find out more about you and your products will be tremendous.

Conclusion

These are just 8 simple methods to attract customers or recruits. Believe me, there are many more… In time, I will share some other attraction methods on upcoming posts.

What methods do you use?

Do you have any questions?

If you are getting started with your home based business or if you have had a home business for some time but it is not performing as well as you know it could, I would love to help you.

For a limited time, I will give you special discounted access to the Home Business Success Kit. Just click that link and get 3 tools that will help you climb…

Persistent Follow Up – To The Top Tuesday

In this first installment of To The Top Tuesday entrepreneur mentoring, we are going to look at persistent follow up means and methods.

Many entrepreneurs are leaving money on the table by not following up with leads properly or not at all.

When we look at actual sales statistics over all forms of businesses, the numbers are enlightening:

  • Most sign ups or sales do not happen until after the prospect is contacted 5 times.
  • After the first contact, approximately 40% of entrepreneurs and/or salespeople give up.
  • The second contact has an approximate 68% give up rate.
  • 80% walk away after the third contact.
  • Many salespeople revert to bad tactics at the forth contact. They use high pressure which can create animosity with prospects.

Once the fifth contact is made, the entrepreneur or salesperson has built a relationship and understands the problems the prospect needs solved.

Here are some follow up tips that do work:

Persistent Follow Up Tip #1: Use Multiple Follow Up Methods

In following up, it is wise to use various methods, I came across some statistics that are interesting:

  • About 12% of Facebook posts are read
  • Around 20% of emails are actually opened
  • About 29% of Tweets are read
  • An outstanding 98% of text messages are opened

Does this mean you should just text leads?

NO!

By using various methods, you show the prospect that you are well-rounded and as they see your information is valuable, your percentages may climb.

Persistent Follow Up Tip #2: Create A Follow Up Plan

You will want to develop a follow up plan that fits you. I am sharing an example follow up plan that you could use as a template:

Day 1: Short phone call just asking how the prospect is and explaining that you are sending an email that will tell the benefits and problems the opportunity can solve. Every email ends with a call-to-action: click here, call this number, etc…

Day 3: A phone call asking if the prospect had the opportunity to read the email. Also offering to answer any questions the prospect has.

Day 5: Text message offering valuable information. This could be a free ebook, white paper or sample product with a link to attain it.

It is imperative that you track results from this.

Day 8: An email asking if the valuable information helped them and sharing testimonials of other similar clients your item has helped.

Day 14: A “check-in” phone call to just ask how they are and ask if they had the opportunity to read or listen to the testimonials.

This is an important call as many other entrepreneurs have not been willing to go this far. Many prospects will feel a sense of overwhelming respect for you.

Day 15: An email thanking them for the time spent the prior day and asking if there are any issues you may be able to help solve.

After the 2 weeks

At this point, I suggest you maintain contact through email and text at least every 2 weeks. I suggest a phone call to check in once per month.

The best days and times

The statistics tell a lot… I love to follow numbers to a certain extent.

There are days and times when phone calls and emails are more likely to be opened.

  • The best phone contact day is Thursday followed by Wednesday and then Friday.
  • Emails are more likely to be opened on Thursday with Wednesday and Tuesday following close behind.
  • The best time to call is 4PM prospect’s time.
  • Emails are opened most from 2-3PM.

Now these are not “set in granite.” I suggest experimenting and track open rates for emails and contact rates for phone calls.

Use Your Resources

You want to use all the resources available to you. Whether you are a “lone” entrepreneur or you are affiliated with a network marketing company, you should either develop or use information resources already made.

These could be:

  • Client testimonials
  • Fliers and pamphlets
  • FAQs
  • Videos
  • Etc…

Using compelling content and resources can and will make that closing question, “Are you ready to buy or sign up?” much easier.

Conclusion

Following up is a key task to grow your business.

I developed an app that can make this process 10X easier. With pre-made recruiting videos, top earner training and a complete lead management and follow up system built in, Rocket Recruiting will make follow up a breeze.

7 Steps To Define Your Target Market

Being Wise With Your Advertising Budget

As a small business entrepreneur, it is doubtful that you are able to market to everyone. It is important that you define your target market. And just so you know, even the huge corporations that have ample amount of money budgeted for marketing also define and try to appeal to their target market.

It is doubtful you will see BMW advertisements in the poor sections of a city. And I doubt you will find baby strollers marketed in a retirement village in Florida.

Now there are a few businesses and entrepreneurs who believe their target market is everyone. There are just a handful that I may agree with that statement but for the biggest part, every product has a target market.

The target market are the people most likely apt to spend money on the product or service your business offers. Sure there may be sales to people outside that range, but it only makes good sense to put 99% of your marketing efforts towards your target market because that is where the majority of business will come from.

Defining your target market can be difficult, so I am going to provide you with 7 steps to help ease the struggle. These should help you.

Define Your Target Market Step #1: Consider Your Current Customer Base

Now this step won’t fit for a brand new entrepreneurial business but for any others that have already been selling goods or services, it only makes good sense to research your current customer base.

You want to take not of the gender, age, race, income level and career averages.

Even if you are developing a new product, keep in mind that customers who have purchased past products will be apt to purchase the new product if it meets their needs and budget.

Define Your Target Market Step #2: Determine What Problem Or Problems Your Product Will Solve

In my opinion, you should have known the answer to this before you even developed a product. But even if you didn’t, you absolutely need to answer this question to determine your target market.

Every product or service must solve a problem. It doesn’t have to be a huge problem, but it has to be an issue that requires a fix.

Define Your Target Market Step #3: Imagine The Possible Customers

Now just start painting a picture in your mind of potential customers. I suggest writing these down. Think of every possibility you can imagine. Don’t worry about determining which of them will purchase more or less of your product… Just note every single person who may buy it.

We will break it down further in the next steps.

The Most Expensive Mistake You Can Make In Network Marketing

Define Your Target Market Step #4: Study Your Competitors

You need to look closely at your competitors. Who are they marketing to? What is superior about your product compared to theirs? What is inferior?

Now I am not saying you will market to the same people the competition is, but you might.

Before I move further with these steps, you need to

put everything on paper. I suggest using a pad that you can flip from subject matter to subject matter. This will help you make a determination at the end of these steps.

Define Your Target Market Step #5: Which Of The Potential Customers Will Get The Most Benefit?

Okay, now we move back to your list of potential customers. You are going to now go through this list and scale which ones will receive the most benefit from your product.

I suggest using a 1 through 10 scale with 1 getting the most benefit and 10 getting the least. Just number them next to each one.

You may find women being high on the list. Maybe it also has mothers high on the list.

Do you see where I am going with that? Just those 2 factors helps you put an age group to your potential customers.

At that point, I believe you will focus on any of those with scores of 1, 2 and possibly 3.

Define Your Target Market Step #6: Break Down Those Potential Customers Into More Defined Demographics

I suggest you take another pad and write just those potential customers down who scored high in the most benefits. You now want to break their demographics down further. The example where I told you about women and mothers tells you that the age group would probably fall between 24 – 30 generally.

There are many factors you will want to measure in your look at demographics:

  • Male or Female
  • Gay or Straight
  • Stage of Life
  • Ethnicity
  • Lifestyle
  • Diet
  • Pets
  • Religion or No Religion
  • Values
  • Social standings
  • Career choices
  • Etc…

Here again, I suggest you write down what your primary customer will fit in in each of these areas next to each of the scored potential customers in the previous step.

Define Your Target Market Step #7: Psychographics

This is when you swim deep into the potential customer. I will just use an example. Let’s say that you developed a product that the person can hold as they walk around their vehicle that will automatically detect if any of the bulbs are out on lights.

I would say that both men and women would have a desire for something like this. But, I believe men would be more apt to purchase it.

The price is somewhat high at $270, so I will keep that in mind in determining my target market. So I say men:

  • Age – I would say that this could be a wide range. Probably 22 on up to 60.
  • Income level – I would put this into a high middle to rich income class.
  • I believe Caucasian males would be high on the list.
  • I believe these would be white collar men.

Now I go deeper

At this point, I believe the person who will want something like this will be the person who has to have new technology the minute it hits the shelves. He will be the one who says he is buying it for his wife… In a somewhat egotistical fashion.

He probably uses his vehicle often for his career. He is a stickler for keeping his vehicle maintained like it just came off the showroom floor.

I could go on and on but you see the point

You will use those Psychographics to design an advertising plan. You will focus those advertisements directly at “that guy.”

Yes, you will sell to people who are not “that guy,” but I wouldn’t be surprised if “that guy” sent them to buy the product.

Conclusion

I didn’t put it as a step because it will be ongoing… Test, test and test some more. Run various ad campaigns directed at your various target markets until you find the one that works best.

It IS an ongoing process. Keep track of sales and what campaigns they come from and you will find the best one that works for you.

In all of this process, you will want to closely watch your expenses. I have the perfect tool to do just that; it is called The Expense Tracker. Let it manage your expenses while you define your target market.

Check out the Expense Tracker here.

I know these steps will help you. If you have any questions, just ask them below. And please share these steps on your social channels. Other entrepreneurs may need this info too.

Thank you and may your business journey rise…
